I am suffering from knee pain from april. I have taken medicine and x-ray also has been conducted, but no solution was there. Then I started taking homeopathic medicines since 3 months, its also not proving beneficial for me. What this could be?

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

I have a partially tear in quadriceps tendon as it is shown in ultrasound and the doctor is saying that there is no requirement of surgery. I want to that how much time it will take to cure.

• Quadriceps strengthening exercises- • Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. • Hamstring stretching • Towel Hamstring Stretch • Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. • Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. • Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. • Seated Hamstring Stretch • While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. • Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. • Hold this stretch for 30 seconds • Repeat 3 times for each leg. •

Problem is that I was in depression, anxiety disorder and breathing problem like happen and when it starts my hand and legs started to pain after drinking water am getting relief ,I got treatment with neurologist and cardiologist they did test of Hb and EEG of brain report was normal and they gave me medicine but am not getting relief the attack of breathing (huffni) is cautious what should I do please help me mam.

Hi lybrate-user, what you are describing sounds like an anxiety attack and since you have already been diagnosed with anxiety I suggest that in addition to medication, you should get to the root of the issue. Try some pranayam and yoga. I would also advise that you seek help from a professional counsellor. Hope you feel better soon.

In football game there is twisting movement on knee jt that puts strain on ligaments which may become painfull. So better take rest for sometime, do hot fomentation and some mild analgesic. If not relieved get mri done to find out the cause.

Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply hot packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and manual therapy will help in pain free movement. Plz check with your concerned surgeon, but any how there could be some minor injury in arround joint that may take some time to heal upto 3 weeks. please do some icing for few mins every day.

Sudden severe exercises can start symptoms like these. Take rest for few days. Restart gradually & build up stamina. It could be oa/obesity do hot fomentation. Any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos you will need other supportive medicines also. Contact me again if needed. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. My daughter is 9 1/2 yrs. Old, not very thin. Few days back she went for swimming and came back with pain in right leg toe finger joint. Now the pain is unbearable and she can not walk. The toe has swelled up a bit also. I applied heat compress. What to do, please advise.
