Hello, Pregnancy is unlikely, the delay is likely to be stress induced. You may wait for a week post missed periods to allow menses to start naturally.

Planning pregnancy itself means you are taking menses into consideration too. Don't delay menses. It will disturb the physiological process and may lead into some other pathology. My advice would be not to rush in planning.

Hello I'm asking for some help regarding cancer issues. How can we. Recognise cancer issues. My mom got breast cancer and now she getting so many problem. So how can she will be all right from breast cancer.

MBBS, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
breast cancer if diagnosed early is generally given radio/ chemotherapy to shrink the tumour followed by surgery to remove the breast and axillary lymph nodes. It has good survival chances if treated early. Regular self breast examination to look for a lump, pain, nipple discharge/ abnormality, skin puckering helps in quick diagnosis which should be followed by timely sonography or mammogram to detect the cancer in time.

Hello, Burning and irritation of uro genital tract during periods can be due to over consumption of spicy diet, late night workouts, consumption of pain killers during menses, or less consumption of animal fat (ghee) in your meals. Avoid these reasons and start consuming this home remedy. Mix 5tsp Coriander powder in four glass of water and leave it over night. Filter the water in the morning and consume these four glass throughout the day. You will be fine.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) - How It Can Help You Get Pregnant?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, DGO
IVF Specialist, Mumbai
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) - How It Can Help You Get Pregnant?

There are many reasons leading to infertility, but one of the main causes is the inability of the sperm to travel all the way up to the uterus to fertilize an egg. This is caused by defective sperms and could be due to poor sperm quality, poor motility, etc. There are multiple reasons for this, and even smoking, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, etc. could be reasons.

Many technical advancements in fertility treatments are being done, and they try to keep the natural process of fertilization intact, at the same time improving the chances of success. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI, often used as a standalone term iksee) improves the rate of fertilization in that the sperm is directly injected into the egg. The environment of this artificial fertilization is completely controlled, and the fertilized egg is then placed into the womb for further growth. It is one of the recent methods of improving fertility, a part of ART (assisted reproductive technology).

Indications:

  1. Poor sperm perms motility

  2. Semen where sperm concentration is low

  3. Male infertility with unidentifiable cause

  4. Poor sperm quality, with sluggish sperms

  5. Ejaculation issues, such as retrograde ejaculation (semen is ejected into the bladder)

  6. Useful in couples who have failed IVF.

What to expect?

The following outlines some of the steps for both male and female before and during the procedure.

Before the procedure - males:

  1. First step is the sperm collection; a screening is first done

  2. Sperms collection happens through either masturbation or directly from the testicles via a small incision

  3. Sperms could be collected fresh or collected and frozen for later use

Before the procedure – women:

  1. In the normal menstrual cycle, only a single egg is released. However, prior to ICSI, the woman is given ovulation drugs, which are high-dose hormone injections prior to ovulation. This ensures multiple eggs are released, which are then retrieved for fertilization in the external environment.

  2. Blood and urine are monitored regularly to identify the ovulation time, and eggs are collected within 24 to 36 hours of release

During the procedure - How ICSI happens:

  1. A healthy egg is chosen and placed in a glass tube, and a sperm is introduced to ensure fertilization

  2. This could be repeated in multiple tubes, and the most healthy one could be chosen to be implanted into the uterus

  3. Some of the fertilized ones could be frozen for later use, in case the implanted embryo fails to grow as expected

  4. The success rate for this procedure is quite high as the fertilization rate is almost 80 - 85 %

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

I had a c section before 12 days my bleeding was stopped on 7today n on 12today it started bleeding more is it normal.
If woman is feeding the bleeding after surgery stops faster, as uterus starts contracting at a faster rate to come back to its previous non pregnant size. Be prepared for spotting off and on for another 2 weeks. Food and exertion is another reason for more bleeding, women do eat rich diet after delivery like jeera, ajwain, dates, nuts do promote more bleeding. Take more of vitamin c rich diet like lemon juice, oranges etc. More of of calcium rich food like milk and curds. All of these are easily digestible, more proteins and supplements. Reduce activities except baby work. Observe. If you continue with feeding bleeding will stop within 40 days.

Hi , We have very good homeo treatment to problems during periods without causing adverse effects. The treatment is very much dependent on detailed description of your complaints- Please intimate? 1. Usual gap between periods and is the bleeding normal? 2. Your age 3. Are you married? 4. Any thyroid problem, anemia? 5. Obesity? You may opt for private consultation giving the particulars. To start with, take the following homoeo medicines 1. China 200---one dose (6 to 7 pills) in the morning 2. C- Section - Understanding the Procedure and Risks

MBBS, MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Advanced Infertility
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
C- Section - Understanding the Procedure and Risks

C-section or Caesarean section is a surgery performed to deliver a baby. The baby is taken out from the abdomen through an incision in the abdominal wall. This surgery is performed when there is some sort of physical difficulty in natural childbirth through the vagina. Other reasons for performing a C-section are when the mother is carrying more than one baby, or the health of the baby is in danger. It could also be because of an undesirable fetal position, or when the mother is physically unable to push the baby out of the uterus.

Procedure followed in C- Section

The procedure is most often done when the mother is in her senses and awake. However, epidural or spinal anaesthesia is provided to numb the body from chest to the feet, before the surgery is performed.

An incision is made on the lower abdomen, above the pubic area. A cut is made through the uterus and amniotic sac. The baby is pulled out from this opening. The umbilical cord is cut and cleaned. The fluids are cleaned from the baby’s mouth and nose. The infant’s breathing rate, heart rate and other vitals are kept under observation.

Recovery from a C-section can take several weeks. The stitch wounds need to heal, including the recovery of pelvic muscles. It is important to walk around and do some very light exercises to boost the healing procedure. Doctors may prescribe painkillers in some cases and advice on effective post-operative care. Though the surgical procedure is quite safe now, with the use of highly advanced technology, there are risks that cannot be entirely ignored.

Risks associated with C-section

  1. Infections: Any surgery has some risk of infection associated to it. In the case of a C-section, an infection can occur around the site of incision that may rapidly spread in the uterine wall and other internal pelvic organs.

  2. Haemorrhage: Blood refuses to clot and dangerously high quantity of blood is lost in the process. In such a case, it requires immediate transfusion and intensive care.

  3. Injuries: The mother or the baby, both have a risk of getting injured during the surgery. Although these are rare, but the infant may suffer nicks and cuts while being manually pulled out from the womb. Other organs of the mother located near the pelvis may suffer minor or major wounds.

After the C-section, the mother and child will be retained in the hospital for 2 to 3 days, under intense care and constant monitoring. It is important to exercise and take the medications as advised by the physician to prevent any complication. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist and ask a free question.
