I am suffering from teeth problem. Recently I have done rct but frequently I get problem in my teeth so please suggest how can I get healthy my teeth on daily routine basis.

Certified Implantologist, BDS
Dentist, Kolhapur
You have mentioned teeth problem which indicates remaining teeth to me. To get healthy teeth you need to brush properly better with fluoridated paste which reduces cavity formation.on routine basis, i suggest you to get your teeth cleaned from dentist every 6 months which will take care of cavities and gum problems. Also if u see any discolouration on tooth please instantly seek dental help to prevent further loss of tooth structure.any more queries feel free to ask on 9890232345.

Tip to keep the teeth whiter

Munching foods like apples, pears, carrots or celery after brushing can help in preventing discoloration as they trigger tooth-bathing saliva which helps in keeping the teeth whiter.

My left Inner cheek comes in between teeth while talking or closing mouth. There are white lines which my dentist says are due to loosening and collapsing of cheek muscle. Tried to use bite guard also. Please guide if any solution.

Bad breath in my mouth scenes for month it's coming wat should I do
please tell me.
Kindly get scaling done and use mouth wash twice daily for 15 days. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique. Also notice that you are not constipated most of the times as this is also one of the reasons for bad breath.

The dos and don'ts of dental care during pregnancy

BDS, Diploma in Hospital Administration, Diploma in Pharmacy
Dentist, Delhi
The dos and don'ts of dental care during pregnancy?
Among the many steps you are taking to ensure a healthy pregnancy (prenatal visits, vitamins, good nutrition, exercise plans, etc.) should be dental care. Oral health is important not only for you, but for the health of your baby as well. Some dental problems may cause a greater risk for complications during pregnancy. And, the changes your body is going through, such as increased blood flow, can amount to dental problems that you have not previously experienced. The following are some conditions you will be at a higher risk for:
Pregnancy gingivitis- affects nearly 50% of expecting women and results in red, swollen gums that can cause tenderness and bleeding.
Pregnancy tumors- are non-cancerous tumors found on the gums as a result of gingivitis and dental plaque. They are harmless and usually recede after you have your baby, but see your dentist if you have pain or concerns.
Periodontal disease- without proper attention and oral hygiene, pregnancy gingivitis can turn into periodontal disease- an infection that attacks periodontal tissues and can pose a serious threat to pregnant women.
Here are some quick guidelines to help you avoid these conditions during pregnancy.
Do: try and schedule a visit to the dentist office if you are planning on becoming pregnant. That way your teeth can be professionally cleaned, your mouth can be examined, and any issues can be addressed prior to pregnancy.
Don't: avoid dental check-ups just because you are pregnant. Schedule a visit in your second trimester and make sure to tell your dentist of your condition as well as any medications you might be taking.
Do: pay attention to any changes in your gums during pregnancy. If you notice changes or are concerned, consult with your dentist.
Don't: have dental x-rays taken during pregnancy except during an emergency. As long as you keep your dental staff informed, they will work to take every necessary precaution to ensure your healthy pregnancy is a priority.
Do: continue regular brushing and flossing habits- even if you are suffering from morning sickness. If your toothpaste is too strong, ask your dentist to recommend a more bland type. Try to rinse your mouth with water after vomiting to remove harmful acids from your teeth.
Don't: have elective dental work done during pregnancy. While regular cleanings and maintenance are not harmful, it's best to avoid things like cosmetic procedures until after your baby is born.
Do: eat right for your baby and for your teeth. Baby's first teeth start developing around month three into your pregnancy. Healthy diets containing, milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products are a great source of essential minerals that are important for your dental health, as well as baby's developing teeth, gums and bones.

There are so many causes of bleeding gums - - brushing too hard - poor oral hygiene. - vitamin deficiency - taking blood thinners or other medications - bleeding or clotting disorders - mouth sores - other medical problems, including diabetes, heart disease, leukemia or scurvy few advice to stop bleeding gums-- - visit to a dentist for professional cleaning once in a year - use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water to keep the area clean. - avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth.

Bad breath or called as" halitosis" there are various reasons for bad breath. First of all update your medical history as the problem could be elsewhere in your body but will be shown as bad breath through your mouth as mouth being the gateway for your complete system. Apart from that there might be local soft or hard deposits on your teeth which can cause bad breath. This might need professional cleaning by the dentist your teeth might be not well aligned, which we call as" crowded" teeth which makes its challenging for you to keep it clean. So consult an orthodontist (specialist for braces) to align your teeth. Your health of the gums might be compromised which also leads to bad breath. Consult a periodontist for gum problems. Your teeth might have cavities where the food can get lodged and might lead to bad breath. Consult your dentist for this. Inspite of regular cleaning and brushing it might be difficult for you to get a fresh breath. As I mentioned above your dentist will tell you exactly the problem areas. Make sure you do your part well. Regular brushing of your teeth twice daily regular flossing of your teeth (which means cleaning between your teeth by means of floss) clean your tongue gently as it can harbour bacteria causing bad breath stay away from tobacco related habits consume a lot of water and stay hydrated. As dry mouth also leads to bad breath. Please do not use mouth washes if not prescribed by your dentist as they have their own side effects which would be a negative to your oral health. Pay a visit to your dentist every 6 months or earlier for routine cleaning as suggested by your dentist. Problems diagnosed and treated earlier needs less attention as well as works out financially easier for you.

My Uncle aged 51 Years has bad smell from mouth. His 3 back Teeth also pain a lot 1 has been removed. Dr. Says the Teeth will be removed naturally. Please suggest something for pain as he can't eat properly and for bad smell frm his mouth. You can't even sit next to him. Thanks a lot for the help.

MDS - Periodontics, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
You shouldn't wait for the teeth to fall. If its infected and cannot be saved it has to be removed. Teeth do not fall off naturally. They get mobile or fall off in case of a disease. Losing teeth is not physiology. Its a pathology. Nature is meant for u to use your teeth for life. For the bad smell there can be multiple reason. Inside the mouth it can be due to those hurting teeth which has infection. Or deposits on ur teeth or caries. There can also be certain medical conditiins causing bad smell. He needs to be reviewed by a dentist for the solution..

Sorry but there is no natural way to recover your teeth from decayed cavity. Natural ways are available only for the prevention of cavity but not for already decayed tooth. For pain you can take pain killer for immediate relief & avoid having any triggering factor. Please visit specialised dentist near you for further professional treatment.

There may be cavity in your tooth. Go for x-ray to know about the extent of the cavity. After that treatment can be decided either filling or rct. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water
