Cataract Surgery

MBBS, MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Ghaziabad
Play video

Main Dr Rajeev Gupta ek eye surgeon hu. Meri clinic, Om Eye Centre, jo ki Vasishali, Ghaziabad me siddh hai. Aaj me apko Cataract Surgery k baare me batana chahunga.

Cataract, jise hum motiyabind bhi kehte h, ankho ki wo beemari hai jisme aankho k lense ki transparency dheere dheere kam hone lagti hai aur isse ankho ki roshni kaafi kam hojati hai. Iska ilaaj cataract surgery he hai. Isme koi dawaiya kaam nahi karti hai. Cataract surgery me ankho k defective lens ko nikal kar artificial lens laga dia jata hai, jisse hume fir se dikhna shuru hojata hai. Aaj kal cataract surgery ki latest technique ka naam Phacoemulsification hai. Isme hume ek chote se cheere se phacoe probe ko ankh k ander dala jata hai. Ye motiye k, yani cataract k defected lens k chote chote pieces ko pighla k bahar nikal deta hai. Aur fir usi cheere se artificial lens ankho k ander laga diya jata hai.

Jo lens ankho ke ander lagaya jata hai, use hum mukhya roop se 2 tarah se divide kia ja sakta h;

  • Unifocal lens
  • Multifocal lens

Unifocal Lens:    Jese ki naam se pata lagta hai, unifocal lens ek point pe focus banata hai. Suppose, agar humara lens door k object pe focus bana raha hai to nazdeeki cheez saaf nazar nahi aegi. Aur agar pass ki object pe focus bana raha hai to door ki cheezein saaf nazar nahi aegi. Islie is lens ke sath hume chashma lagana he padega, jo ki hume patients ko pass ki nazar ka chashma lagana he padta hai saaf dekhne ke lie.

 Multifocal Lens:    Multifocal lens 2-3 jagah pe focus bana sakta hai. Aur iski madad se hume nazdeek or door, dono theek se dikhai de sakta hai. Lekin Multifocal lens has some disadvantages over Unifocal lens. like;

  • Multifocal lens me hume image ka contrast kam milega in comparitive to Unifocal lens.
  • Multifocal lens me Glare and Halos dikhai dene ke zada chances hote hai

Konse patients ko Unifocal lens chahie or konse patient ko multifocal lens chaie, ye patients khud decide kar sakte h, according to their choice and work. Jin patents pe operation se pehle he cylindrical number zada hota hai, un patients ko focus banane k lie aise lens ki zarurat hoti hai jinme cylindrical power ho. Aise lens ko hum Toric lens bhi kehte hai.

Yani ki aise patients k liye, Unifocal toric lens ya fir Multifocal toric lens he zada acche maane jate hai jinko ki wo choose kar sakte hai.

Cataract surgery k results aj ki tareek me bohot acche hai. Lekin ultimate visual gain after cataract after the sugery depends on the condition of the eyes before sugery and how the surgery works on the patients.

Thank you.

Dear lybrate-user, Why do not you go for squint eye surgery without blade or any problem. 100% painless, bladefree surgery option. tips Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Antioxidants, including beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, protect the macula from sun damage. Get these antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Notice any color patterns here? Current research shows that consuming yellow and green vegetables can help prevent age-related macular generation, a leading cause of blindness. Foods rich in sulfur, cysteine, and lecithin help protect the lens of your eye from cataract formation. Excellent choices include garlic, onions, shallots, and capers. Anthocyanin-rich blueberries, grapes, and goji berries have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision.

There are many reasons of pain in eyes but inyour case it is due to overstraining of your eyes either due to overuse of eyes or due to deficient lightening systemin your study room.Weak Eyeight can also be the reason.I will advise you to undergo thorough Eye checkup from an Eye specialist to rule out possibility of weak eyesight.Meanwhile start using these homoeopathic eye drops CINERARIA /EUPHRASIA EYE DROPS ( SBL) Pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

Ocular surface disorder is the name. Blood tests to rule out joint and skin problem, over use of computers endocrine disease are few causes. Eye specialist will diagnose and give. Lubricants and appropriate therapy.

What is cataract, how it comes and it only comes for human beings or also for animals?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
What is cataract, how it comes and it only comes for human beings or also for animals?
A cataract is an eye disease in which the clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy or opaque, causing a decrease in vision. The lens is a portion of the eye that is normally clear. It focuses rays of light entering the eye onto the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. In order to get a clear image onto the retina, the portions of the eye in front of the retina, including the lens, must be clear and transparent. The light initiates a chemical reaction within the retina. The chemical reaction, in turn, initiates an electrical response which is carried to the brain through theoptic nerve. The brain then interprets what the eye sees.In a normal eye, light passes through the transparent lens to the retina. The lens must be clear for the retina to receive a sharp image. If the lens is cloudy from a cataract, the image striking the retina will be blurry and the vision will be blurry. The extent of the visual disturbance is dependent upon the degree of cloudiness of the lens. Most cataracts are related to aging. Cataracts are very common in older people. By age 80, more than half of all Indians either have some degree of cataract or have already undergone cataract surgery in one or both eyes. By age 95, this percentage increases to almost 100%. A cataract can occur in either or both eyes. Individuals with a cataract in one eye usually go on to develop a cataract in the other eye as well. A cataract is not contagiousand cannot spread from one eye to the other or from person to person. Cataracts do not cause the eye to tear abnormally. They are neither painful nor make the eye itchy or red. Although vision can be restored in most people with cataracts, age-related cataracts are still the most common cause of blindness in the world, Causes of cataracts The lens is made of mostly water and protein. The protein is arranged in a specific way that keeps the lens clear and allows light to pass through it to focus a clear image onto the retinal surface. As we age, some of the protein may clump together and start to cloud a small area of the lens. This is our understanding of the cause of an age-related cataract. Over time, the cataract may become denser or cloud more of the lens, making it more difficult to see through. A cataract is not a growth or tumor. There are many causes of non age-related cataracts or secondary cataracts. Secondary cataracts are a result of similar changes to the protein of the lens, also resulting in visual blurring or visual loss. 1.Blunt or penetrating injury to the eye may cause secondary cataracts, either immediately after the injury or some weeks to years afterward. A cataract following an injury may appear and then not increase in density (be stationary) or be progressive. Eye surgery for other conditions can also cause cataracts. 2.Excessive exposure to ionizing radiation (X-ray), infrared radiation (as in glass blowers), or ultraviolet radiation cause secondary cataracts 3..Diabetes is associated with the development of secondary cataracts. 4.Inflammatory disease of the eye, such as iritis or uveitis, may cause or accelerate the development of cataract in the involved eye. 5.There are many genetic illnesses that are associated with the development of secondary cataracts. These include myotonic dystrophy, galactosemia,homocystinuria, Wilson's disease and Down syndrome, plus many others. Congenital infections with herpes simplex, rubella, toxoplasmosis,syphilis, and cytomegalic inclusion disease may also result in cataracts. 6.There are many medications which, when taken over a long period of time, can cause secondary cataracts. The most common of these are oralcorticosteroids, such as prednisone, which are used for a wide variety of medical conditions. 7.The term "congenital cataract" is used when a baby is born with any clouding of the lens. This may be present in one or both eyes, be stationary or be progressive. Causes include genetic disorders or intrauterine developmental disorders, both often associated with other physical abnormalities of the baby. 8.Atopic dermatitis, other diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, 9.hypothyroidism, and hyperparathyroidism are associated with the early development of cataracts. Patients who develop cataracts in both eyes at an early age often have family members who have also developed cataracts prematurely, implying a genetic cause, even in the absence of a recognized underlying disease. In the same way Cataract develop in the eye of Animals also as their eyes are no different from human eyes.

Hi sir. Some black dot is moving in my right eye. Is there any thing loss of vision happened to me. Clarify my doubt....
Black spots in front of eye is usually due to vitreous floaters ,you should get your retina checked up by retina specialist & if there is no retinal pathology ,you should try to ignore it.
