I am suffering from sciatic nerve pain. Please give valuable suggestion abt how to get cure from this problem of sciatica.

BHMS, Certified in Aesthetic Skin Treatments, Certified in Applied Behaviour Analysis
Homeopath, Mumbai
Pain that travels from the lower back or from the hip through the back part of the thigh to the lower part of the leg or to the foot is usually very indicative of sciatica. Sciatica is not a disease in itself but a symptom of the sciatic nerve being irritated or compressed along its course. Homeopathy is able to treat the pain very effectively and is able to rectify the compression or irritation on the sciatic nerve. The key to prevent sciatica is to prevent any damage to your lower spine. 1.Exercising regularly - This can strengthen back and abdominal muscles, thus preventing damage to your vertebral column. 2.Good posture - Maintain a good posture while sitting and use an ergonomically designed chair which properly supports your hips and does not press upon your back of the thighs and knees while sitting. The Homeopathic treatment is completely safe without any side effects and proves to be of immense benefit in the long run. Consult me for further evaluation and treatment. Your feedback matters. Thank-you.

Dear, Very Good Evening! Thanks for writing in regards to your problem with good description of your symptoms. Much appreciate it as it helps to make our responses more specific as well. All the symptoms you have mentioned make me suggest of few areas that me need possible addressing after a thorough clinical assessment has been carried out. However, there may be possible two things which may be going on simultaneously or either one of them which may be resulting in the symptoms you are experiencing. These 2 things i suspect may be: 1) Capsular tightness post-arthroscopy 2) Tight Hamstrings Most of the times, arthroscopic procedures for lateral mensical tears are successful (varying on how complex it was & if any pre-existing wear & tear changes present or not). A good rehabilitation of minimum 3 months is must to facilitate the recovery and aid you to return to sport. So Manish, take this opportunity and momento to get a further detailed assessment specially with a Physiotherapist with Sports experience. Depending on where you are based, I may be able to provide you with reference for the same if I have anyone within my contacts. I have seen many similar post menisectomy clients with a good outcome following a specially designed exercise and treatment program. So, I am looking for a good recovery in your possible given scenario. I take this opportunity to wish you good health and a return to football this year. Best Wishes

I am suffering from cervical spondylitis. My lordosis is lost in report please sugest.

MSc in Orhopedic Physiotherapy (UK), BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Bangalore
Heat is an effective mean of reducing and relieving pain in cervical spondylosis. You can use hot packs at home. Some exercises like static contractions and strengthening exercises are needs to be done. Isometric contractions of the cervical muscles improve the muscle endurance and tone as the contractions improve the blood supply thereby the nutrition to the muscle is increased and hence muscle strengthening is done. Please see a physiotherapist for these exercises. You may need traction and soft tissue techniques for the management of cs. Postural awareness is very important. As the condition progresses, the abnormality of posture also increases, thus from the initial stage itself, postural awareness through proper advice and education should be planned and initiated by the physiotherapist. Best wishes.

Stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation. For leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hello, Gaining weight is a slow process which requires patience and dedication! The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points (if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. Both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 3months. Revert. Backache: Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). (Excessive sitting or standing is to be avoided as well don’t carry much weight on shoulders). Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. Management: -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.
