Sometimes mostly during morning and evening I find some little blood it's over teeth only not near tongue so what's the problem that there is bleeding and is it serious condition and can you suggest me some preventions for it.

BDS, CDE Endo-Prostho, CDE - Cast Partial & Complete Dentures
Dentist, Pune
Hello, Bleeding could be because of deposits on your teeth or food lodged in your teeth. Visit a dentist get your scaling and polishing done. You can also go for bleaching or whitening. Brush twice daily, maintain proper brushing technique, floss regularly and rinse after every meal.

Hello sir, I am brushing my teeth daily twice and not in habit of tobacco, smoking, etc. But my mouth smell very bad. Tell me what to do bcoz my tooth are normal also.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Bad breath can be due to various reasons other than dental problems too. If you have any issues like constipation or acidity or sinusitis etc, you need to get the root cause of the problem treated. In the meanwhile you can use any over the counter mouthwash and maintain a good oral hygiene which will reduce the bad smell to some extent. Also, you need to get your teeth examined by a dentist to check for any accumulated tartar in between your teeth which can lead to the problem, this can be easily overcome by a thorough dental cleaning.

My teeth are becoming yellow and my mouth is smelling bad so give me some measure to get rid of this problem?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

FOR YELLOW TEETH: The simplest method of removing minor surface stains is polishing, or micro-abrasion if staining is more intrinsic. Provided that your discolouration is not due to inadequate enamel exposing the dentin, tooth whitening (bleaching) is often the most effective treatment for yellow stained teeth. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. FOR BAD BREATH: •Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

I am 33 years old from vizag andhra pradesh suffering with behcets syndrome since past 15 years Mouth & gentel ulcers, eye blur & reddish joint pains at knee & shoulder pains nodes on thighs swelling of legs ect. Now I am going to marry soon please suggest the recommendations. Present using homeopath treatment since 6 year it's not controlled yet. Please confirm is there is any complete treatment for curing.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi, behcets syndrome is a disease which is treated by multiple doctors. As far as oral ulcers are concerned a dentist can help you in this thing. For mouth ulcers in behcets disease it is good if some steroid based topical cream can be applied. It generally gives you long lasting relieve from oral ulcers. Regards Dr. Avinash.

You need to get scaling (cleaning) done so as to remove all the plaque and calculus, the gum bleeding, pus (if any) and bad breath would regress over a period of 10-15 days. Also do clean your tongue properly and use a good mouthwash as well. Please do not use mouthwash like listerine which contains alcohol as the base use a aqueous base mouthwash which does not desiccate the mouth.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

Plaque tends to accumulate in the areas where the brush is unable to reach. Use of Waterjets can help in removing 99% of the plaque from your mouth.

Tongue cleaning is as important as brushing and flossing. Use of a proper tongue scraper every morning will remove tongue plaque and freshen your breath.

I m suffering from bad breathing even I brush daily but my family member says your breath smells.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: - practice good oral hygiene. - brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. - don't forget to brush the tongue, too. - replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. - use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. - see your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. - drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. - chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

My gums have swollen on area where there is a little toothache. Swelling is big in that area. What should I do? Should I take antibiotics to reduce bacterial infection to cure swelling.

BDS, MDS - Orthodontics
Dentist, Ahmedabad
Swelling may cure with antibiotics, but it will recurr, as the source of infection is still there, better consult a dentist, get an x ray done, and do as advised, start doing salt water gargle in mean time, and do not eat anything hot.

I have more painful white patches at inside on my mouth cheek and teeth corner. What's cause of it. Pls help me. What medicine now I'm take. Reply me fast Dr.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Thane
Hello lybrate-user. The white patches if can be scrapped off and leave a red surface beneath them may be candidiasis (which is a form of fungal infection) please consult a dental specialist to know the cause. Till then use candid mouth paint. Take 20-30 drops on tongue and swish in whole moth for 2-3 minutes. Use it 4-5 times a day for 2 weeks. The fungal infection shows your immunity is compromised. Please consult a dentist and a physician to know the exact cause.

I am 40 yrs and my teeth is upper open bite and slightly upfront . It is possible to correct the teeth in this age ?.

BDS, MDS Prosthodontics
Dentist, Mumbai
If the tooth is out because of bad gym health it may not be possible without gum therapy/ root canal/ extraction and bridges. If gum condition is healthy then braces can be done at even 40 years of age.
