What type of diet should we prefer in case of the person suffering from jaundice?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
Jaundice is indicative of the malfunctioning of the liver. It may be caused by an obstruction of the bile ducts which discharge bile salts and pigment into the intestine. The simple form of jaundice, the pre hepatic jaundice can be treated well with a good diet. Recovery may however, be slow in serious cases caused by obstruction or pressure in the bile ducts, the hepatic and post hepatic jaundice cases. The patient should rest in bed till the acute symptoms subside. He should not be given any solid foods for the first few days of the treatment. He may be given plenty of fresh fruits and vegetable juices. The idea is to provide a high carbohydrate based diet as the liver is infected, and minimize the strain on the liver. Suji or dhalia porridge, soft custards, curd rice are other soft easy digestable foods. Fruits and vegetables are highly recommended, and can be used to prepare juices. Those like lemon, grapes, pear, tomato, carrot, beet and yes, sugarcane are preferable. Sugarcane juice, mixed with lime juice, being high carbohydrate can hasten recovery from jaundice. Half a glass of this juice, mixed with half a lime, may be given to the patient twice daily. It is, however, very essential that the juice must be pure and preferably prepared at home in a hygienic manner. Resistance is low in jaundice and any infected beverage could only make matters worse. It is also important to prepare this juice fresh each time and avoid storing it. After the severity of the decease has passed, the patient may be given a simple and well-balanced diet. The emphasis should be on fresh juicy fruits such as orange, apple, pineapple, grapes, papaya and mango, and vegetables such as spinach, fenugreek and carrots. The patient should avoid all fats like ghee, butter, cream and oils for at last two weeks and thereafter their consumption should be kept down to the minimum. Digestive disturbances must be avoided. No food with a tendency to ferment or putrefy in the lower intestines like pulses and legumes should be included in the diet. Other effective home remedy is the use of green leaves or radish (muli). The leaves should be pounded and their juice extracted. It should be strained through a clean piece of muslin before use. About 60 to 80 ml. of this juice, depending on the age, should be given to the patient three times daily. It induces healthy appetite and proper evacuation of bowels. But remember, these are all home remedy, they do help but do not substitute the need for rest and medication as prescribed by the doctor. Also remember to avoid alcohol until recovery. Alcohol may be poorly tolerated for some months and cause minor relapses - it should be totally avoided for at least 3 months or longer until the liver has fully recovered.

1. Maintain your body weight. 2. Do not fast/ don't have a long break in meals. Instead of having three big meals, start 5-6 frequent but small meals. 3. Do regular light exercise along with meditation. 4. Take more sprouts. 5. Instead of pure curd, take diluted curd mixed with cucumber, onion (raayta). 6. Use cow milk and its products. 7. In fruits, you may take papaya, apple, orange, pear, jamun, guava in average quantiy. 8. Soyabean chunks, dal, and atta is good. 9. Sabudana khichri is good in breakfast. 10. Curd made by methi seeds is good (boil the milk with methi seeds and make curd of this).

It is very important that you increase the quantity of cow ghee in diet. It will make daily motions regular. Have a habit of chewing on a mix of saunf, jeera & ajwain after food. Drink water boiled with ginger throughout the day. Have light & easy to digest meals. Sleep early.

Homeopathic medicines permanently cure piles without surgical intervention. The conventional system of medicine, on the other hand, does not promise complete cure even after surgery. Homeopathic medicines work at the constitutional level to set right disturbances in the venous system that have caused piles in the first place, similarly irritable bowel syndrome has permanent cure in homoeopathy

Hello you can take homoeo medicine pulsatilla 200 2 times. Drink more water. For better management consult privately.

Sir, I am 42 years old without any health issues, but on last Sunday I observed some blood in my semen and I talked to my family doc n he told coz of not having sex for long time with my partner, now I'm afraid of doing sex like wise. please suggest as I'm afraid.

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
Seeing blood in the semen can make a man anxious. Fortunately, it doesn't always signal a major medical problem. For men younger than 40 with no related symptoms and no risk factors for underlying medical conditions, blood in semen often disappears on its own. But for men 40 and over, chances are higher that blood in the semen needs evaluation and treatment. This is especially true for men who: Have repeated episodes of blood in the semen. Have related symptoms while urinating or ejaculatingAre at risk for cancer, a bleeding disorder, or other conditions Blood in the semen is called hematospermia or hemospermia. When men ejaculate, they typically don't examine their semen looking for blood. So it’s not known how common the condition is. Causes of Blood in the Semen Blood in the semen can come from several different sources: Infection and inflammation. This is the most common cause of blood in the semen. Prostate (the gland that produces the fluid part of semen) Urethra (the tube that carries urine and semen from the penis) Epididymis and vas deferens (tiny tube-like structures where sperm mature before ejaculation) Seminal vesicles (which add more fluid to the semen) It can also come from an STI (sexually transmitted infection) such as gonorrhea or chlamydia, or from another viral or bacterial infection. Infection and inflammation are the culprits behind nearly four out of every ten cases of blood in the semen.

Can I take dabur shilajit capsules as my sex timing is short. I am of 22 age getting marry soon.

BASM, MD, MS (Counseling & Psychotherapy), MSc - Psychology, Certificate in Clinical psychology of children and Young People, Certificate in Psychological First Aid, Certificate in Positive Psychology
Psychologist, Palakkad
Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. I suggest you not to worry. The timing during masturbation and while having sex with sex workers etc should not be counted as having premature ejaculation or short sex time. Sex time is measured after marriage and when having a permanent partner with whom you are having sexual intercourse regularly. Therefore, do not worry about your sex timings before marriage. Yes. Shilajit is good for enhancing the timings. Take care.
