I am 20 years old student. Sometimes due to traveling I have joint pain in my right leg. Please suggest me good exercise or medicine.

Requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

I have severe stomach pain and back pain, along with nausea I don't feel like eating anything.

Hi I have a right shoulder pain from the past 1 year the pain is not continuous but whenever I do certain movements like throwing a cricket ball and raising shoulders it appears. Shoulder is quite stiff tell me wat measures to take up, Regards.

You should start doing good warm up excercises, followed by stretches for shoulder before any strenuous activities. This will prevent the injury to shoulder. Also add on strengthening excercises on regular routine so that your muscles are actually strong enough. Don't forget to do back strengthening alongwith as that gives a strong base to shoulder movements.

Dear Lybrate user, You may do the following exercises. Chair knee extension: Sitting in a chair, rest your foot on another chair so the knee is slightly raised. Gently push the raised knee toward the floor using only leg muscles. Hold for 5 - 10 seconds and release. Repeat 5 times on each leg. Heel slide knee extension: Lie on your back, with left knee bent and left foot flat on floor. Slowly slide the left heel away from your body so both legs are parallel. Hold for 5-10 seconds, return to starting position. Repeat 5 times on each leg. Knee flexion: Sitting in a chair, loop a long towel under your foot (resting on the floor). Gently pull on the towel with both hands to bend the knee, raising your foot 4 - 5 inches off the floor. Hold for 5 - 10 seconds, then release. Repeat 5 times on each leg. Hamstring stretch: Standing, put one foot in front of you, toes up. With hands on the small of your back (or one hand holding a chair for balance), bend the opposite knee and hip (not your lower back), until you feel the hamstrings stretch. The upper body comes forward at the hip. Hold for 5 -10 seconds, then release. Repeat 5 times on each leg.

I am having cervical spondylosis . My right hand is paining seriously . Tell me proper medicine that can cure it . I am diabetic . Doctor has prescribed me to check (MRI of cervical spine with screening of brain ) is it necessary to check it. REMARKS OF MY MRI SCAN REPORT The C6/7 disc shows an asymmetric left bulge with prominent left paracentral and posture-lateral and foramina components indenting the ventral thecal sac and causing severe left and causing severe left and along with the uncovertebral hypertrophy causing severe left exit foramina narrowing impinging on the existing left C7 nerve root The C5/6 disc shows an asymmetric right bulge with prominent uncovertebral hypertrophy contributing to severe right exit foramina narrowing and impinging on the existing right C6 nerve root Milder changes at C3/4 and C4/5 Any serious problem tell me any options and Dr. told me to be admitted to hospital is it needed for me let me know and any other medicine needed tell me.

I am having numbness in my left arm for the last few days. I felt the numbness for the first time 15-20 days back. One of the doctors I went to asked me to raise both hands and smile I think the tests were ok. He then asked me to go for MRI, while he also said simultaneously that the chances of finding something in the brain is remote. I want a second opinion should I go for MRI? What could be the possible reason for this numbness? -Rajesh.

Numbness in the arm suggests the possibility of cervical slip disc for which MRI is gold standard in diagnosing. However, if you have apprehensions for MRI, you may try a conservative trial with analgesics, rest and cervical traction physiotherapy. If symptoms persists beyond 3 weeks of conservative trial, do get an MRI.

Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

I am 28 year old male. I do weightlifting exercise at home. Not regularly but almost 6 months in a year. From few days I am not able to lift weight due to backache. Even the pain starts when I bend in front. So I am not doing exercise now. After some time when I feel like normal. I gain tried to lifts weight and the pain started again. I want to do weight exercise again? what happened to me?

Rest for few days. Build your stamina gradually. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Leg pain- for leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Take rest for couple of days. Do not stand for very long, take mini breaks every 20 minutes.Keep one leg on foot rest while standing for long hours. Start physiotherapy treatment.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

My knee has undergone surgery on 16 june 16 following which Physiotherapy exercise is been followed. There is stiffness Continuously exercising leg is been bent upto 90 degrees flexion and there is problem of 10-15 degree extension. Is it that my knee is locked up or it will go by exercising?

I am 67 yers old male (bd: 16-02-1948). On 29 apr 15, I got lower back pain of low intensity. On 25-06-15, I got again lower back pain of medium intensity. I walked (1hour) and travelled in train (2 hours). My pain intensity increased. I got my mri done on 29-06-15. Report says 1. Changes of osteoporosis in the vertebral bodies. 2. Facetal arthosis at l4/5 level with mild retrolisthesis of l4 over l5 vertebral body. 3. Mild posterior bulge of l1/2 disc indenting the thecal sac. 4. Mild left foraminal bulge of l2/l3 disc. 5. Mild bilateral foraminal bulges of l3/l4 disc indenting left exiting l3 nerve root along with facetal arthropathy at this level. 6. Diffuse annular bulge of l4/5 disc indenting both exiting l4 nerve roots with focal sequestrated disc component in left lateral recess of l5 vertebral body impinging left traversing l5 nerve root. 7. Mild annular bulge of l5/s1 disc contacting both exiting 1.5 nerve roots. 8. Facetal arthopathy and ligamentum flavum thickening at all levels causing bilateral lateral recess stenosis at l3/4 and l4/5 levels. Please help for remedy.
