Hii this kind of pain and numbness could be due to carpal tunnel syndrome in which a nerve called median nerve is compressed under a sheath in the wrist. This usually occurs more at night and certain position of wrist. You should get done certain tests to know the cause. Like Nerve conduction studies. Sugar levels, thyroid profile, rheumatoid factor. Yes there are treatments. Medications for milder cases, wrist splint and physiotherapy. Cold compresses etc. For moderate cases steroid injections in the wrist. Severe cases may need surgery.

My son is heaving seizures but has normal eeg and MRI. His age is 1 year and was born in eighth month. Will these end with time.

Master In Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapist,
It will depend on the frequency of seizure attacks. You have to carefully notice tht how many times in a day or week or month the episodes are recurring? meanwhile you can check with seizure medicines n consider revising dosage with your family doctor.

Hello, I am 19 years male, I am suffering from epilepsy, and facing sever headaches and black outs. Doctor has told me not to drive and play video games. Advice me something instant as I am very fond of play station and gaming boxes.

MBBS, DNB, Diploma Dyslipidemia, CCEBDM, CCMTD
General Physician, Gurgaon
Lybrate-user you should understand that what your ailment is. As you are suffering from epilepsy so your doctor has rightly advised you not to drive because if in case you get a fit while driving then you can harm yourself. Regarding video games you should try to avert from that too as any flashing light can precipitate an attack. Try to keep yourself occupied with books or anything which does not put you at risk.

I'm get two times for seizures In the mid night. One is three years back. Consulting the doctor using 3 months medicines. And now recently is got another one. Mid night time. Same I'm consulted again he was told that continue using medicine for life long I am using Levi pill 500mg tablets. Every day night. In scanning reports a small rounded non enhancing lesion with peripheral hyper dense rim with few tiny calcification and central heterogeneous Isodense area of 8mm noted in the right frontal cortical region with minimal perilesional edema -s/o likely healing granuloma rest of all OK normal.

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Dear sir, probably the non enhancing lesions may be the cause Of seizures. Most likely those lesions may be tuberculoma or neurocysticercosis. And you would require treatment for that also. Please consult and be in contact with neurologist for the same. Low chances of metastases also may be there but most likely it would be infections and will require treatment for that.

It is a type of facial palsy called bells palsy. It is good that 90% has improved in 1 month. It will improve further over time. No specific medicine is required for that. Do regular facial muscle exercise as advised by your physiotherapist. But do it repeatedly and frequently you may continue facial nerve stimulation therapy and physiotherapy for few more days.

Give me an information about the migraine, why it's happened, give me a remedy for this.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
The cause of migraines is still largely unknown. Avoid triggers. If certain foods or odors seem to have triggered your migraines in the past, avoid them. Reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake and avoid tobacco. In general, establish a daily routine with regular sleep patterns and regular meals. In addition, try to control stress. Exercise regularly. Regular aerobic exercise reduces tension and can help prevent migraines. If your doctor agrees, choose any aerobic exercise you enjoy, including walking, swimming and cycling. Warm up slowly, however, because sudden, intense exercise can cause headaches. Obesity is also thought to be a factor in migraine headaches, and regular exercise can help you maintain a healthy weight or lose weight.

42 is perimenopausal time, means a few years before and after the periods stop at age ranging from 40-50 but women do live a healthy life till 100+with age related problems only. During this phase called menopausal syndrome the woman may suffer from either of these 5 symptoms / few of symptoms / none of symptoms. 1) periods stop & reproductive hormones decline and she is more prone to heart attacks 2) osteoporotic bones, hollow bones with less calcium 3) depression and empty nest syndrome as her own children are either married or leading their own lives and she feels unwanted 4) organs sag like skin shows some wrinkles, there is tendency to have urinary symptoms as bladder has less power in its muscles to retain urine for longer hours. 5) tendency to put on weight @ at least 1/2 kg per year. The woman can keep busy with her own hobbies and skills, she can continue to exercise & be careful about diet. Take supplements of calcium and vitamin d & multivitamins. Eat lots of fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits according to her constitution, drink toned milk & curds & reduce salt, sugar & fats. Get her checked for heart and bllod tested for lipids & sugar. Good to know that your own doctor has declared her as normal. Reassure her and this passing phase will be over soon.
