Hello, Kindly follow advises given below 1.Avoid using computers continuously, take rest for 5 min after working for half an hour 2. In pain free interval do neck exercise (kindly learn exercise by registered Trainer) 3. you can use thin pillow while sleeping so that normal posture of neck can be maintained 4.Maintain proper posture of body while watching TV/ studying Kindly go for cervical X ray AP and lateral and review with reports

Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Hello friends. I am 27 male. I have been gyming since 3 years .after gyming first 6 month I realize some pain in my shoulder. I immediately left working out and went to a doctor who advised me some exercises. It was not helpful so I went to a physiotherapist and had treatment which helps and my pain was gone. Again I started gyming and after 3 months again shoulder pain was there. This time I went to a orthopedic and he also advised me some exercises but it was waste of time. I also did ct scan and MRI but results are normal and doctors are telling to do physiotherapy and exercise .i need some real help guyz. I know you all are experienced. I can not go to gym and it kills me. Plzz help.

In conditions like yours where shoulder pain is not responding to physiotherapy, you should consult a pain specialist. You need to undergo ultrasonography of shoulder and intervention can be planned accordingly. In your case an injection known as Suprascapular nerve block will relieve the pain. This injection is given with help of ultrasound or X ray guidance in operation theatre to block pain transmission from shoulder joint. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

I am 46 years male. Doctor I am suffering from cervical spondylitis. But in order to do exercise I had bought a treadmill. But some of my family doctor had suggested me that treadmill will increase my spondylitis. Is it true or false.

Treadmill will do no harm.But for cervical spondylosis you need neck & shoulder exercises along with other physiotherapy measures.Anti inflammatory drugs along with antioxidants also help in recovery.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? Hi Doctor, I am 30 years old. I had a injury on my right knee 15 months back same time I had 1 X-ray snap could not find any issue in it Now after a long time again it is paining sometimes so I did MRI. I found that my ACL got tear is there any therapy treatment or only surgery is the option for it. Anyhow I can Walk Run but while climbing stairs I feel some stiffness. I am not a sportsman my nature of work is on desktop completely. Thanks and Regards.

Gentle massage over knees with lukewarm herbal pain relieving oils daily for about 15-20 minutes and hot fomentation afterwards will greatly help in subsiding the pain. These procedures would give strength to your knee and reduce the pain and stiffness. Regular oiling the joint will improve the lubrication also. Use knee caps over the joints and avoid over exertion of the joint. This will greatly help. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.

Since last three months I have slight pain in my left side shoulder and some time left arm is getting some sensation and partial numbness mri report show that neck bone at some place pressing the spinal cord. Kindly show me a photograph & digital x rays of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Vaishnaviji, For treating hypothyroidism are taking thyroxine tablets regularly in prescribed dosage? If hypothyroidism is not controlled then cold intolerance is quite common. Plus feeling of weakness and early fatigue also occur and there may constant increase in weight. I am sure you are following the instructions given regarding dosing of thyroxine tablets, it must be taken early morning on empty stomach, there after nothing to be taken for 2 hours. This has to be meticulously adhered to. Plus avoid soya beans, soya containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts and coffee. Consume more green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Use whole grain flour for making chapati and rotl. Plus exercise regularly that will increase your fitness level. If you have any doubts please come in a private conversation where I will be able to give specific guidelines.

I suggest you follow the below for your condition: take mag phos 6x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned backache as only problem. Since you are very young, if you have only localized backache with no other associated symptoms like radiating leg pain, numbness, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc if you do not feel better with these measures in 2-3 weeks time, we will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).
