High cholesterol and uric acid may be due to hypothyroidism. If you keep that in control, the other two may not require treatment. And also there is no problem to sexual life if kept well controlled

Eating for a Healthy Heart

B.Sc, BHMS

Eating for a Healthy Heart

Heart disease accounts for about one third of all adult deaths, but dietary changes would help prevent it.

  • Eat more fiber

It can be found in whole grain cereals and breads, fresh fruit and vegetables, dried beans, peas, and lentils. Fiber reduces the amount of fat and cholesterol you absorb while digesting fatty foods.

  • Eat less saturated fats.

Cut down on fatty foods, choosing lean meats and polyunsaturated vegetable oil such as olive oil. Eat more fish and poultry, and switch to skimmed milk and low-fat dairy products.

  • Cut down on fats and sugar.

Avoid fats and highly refined sugary foods, such as ice cream, cookies, cakes, and many processed products.

  • Keep your weight down.

Obesity is known to increase your risk of coronary heart disease.

  • Eat only four eggs a week.

They are high in cholesterol.

  • Reduce your salt intake.

It may raise your blood pressure, which in turn increases your risk of developing coronary heart disease.

Hi. For your age, smoking related stomach irritation is the most common cause of chest pain. Heart related chest pain is rarer in your age group. So the remedy is to quit smoking strictly. You may get an ecg and 2d echo done at any good heart center if you want to check heart status. Take care.

Diastolic pressure went down to 60 suddenly. Systolic to 100 abnormal? what to do?

Diploma in Family Medicine, Fellowship in Diabetology, Diploma in Diabetology, FCCP, MBBS
General Physician,
1. Not by one reading we cannot come to a conclusion. 2. Check your bp regularly for a week after taking good food and adequate water, 3. If your bp is persistently 100/60 then you should have a cardiac evaluation and serum electrolytes check.
