For BP you need tablets and healthy lifestyle like exercise and less salt. Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch personally. Dear, To control & maintan BP normal these are best methods to follow:.• Do physical exercise like jogging, running or brisk walk for atleast 20-30 minutes. • Maintain your cholesterol level to normal & eat least amount of butter, cream or fatty things. • Eat less amount of pickle, salt and fast food as they contain high sodium levels. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of caffine containing coffee, tea or cold drinks because caffine causes increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams (Anulom- Vilom, Bhramari) daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. • Take 5 ml of GULAB Jal added in a glass of water daily once a day.

Dear Lybrateuser, -Your chest pain may be due to acidity, anxiety or sedentary habit -avoid fried, spicy & junk food, have more of fruits & vegetables, chew your food well, do not skip meals, have meals on time, do not not lye down immediately after meals, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bedtime -have 8-10 glasses of water per day for good digestion -do regular exercise like walking, jogging, swimming for 30 min, also do yoga & deep breathing for 5-10 min in the morning.

Mr Manoj, Hypertension and diabetes usually are seen together in many persons. Apart from taking appropriate medication, it essential to adapt a modified lifestyle, which means having a balanced and restricted diet, exercising regularly for more than 1 hour a day, avoiding sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, alcohol and smoking. In case of hypertension salt intake also has to be low(2.3 g/day). From the data it is not clear what is level of blood pressure, which drugs are being taken for treating diabetes and current fasting and PP sugar leves and HbA1c%. Plus also inform you are exercising regularly, as your BMI is 26.19 kgs, which is high. Plus inform about dietary pattern. It will be good if you come in a private conversation with these details, where I will be able to give specific suggestions.

Vitamin b 12 and d deficiencies do not have any effect on day to day activites and pain associated with it. The deficiencies are rare and are not a cause of worry. Your gastric pain and pain in heel seem to be unconnected. Gastric pain could be peptic in origin and your family doctor can treat it without much investigations. Pain in heel needs a closer look. It may require an orthopaedic consultancy, but let it be decided by your family doctor. So see a physician.
