Dear lybrate-user, your wife may be having a dissociation disorder. It needs a private consultation with a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. But it is not necessary to consult a neurologist. The more you care about her attacks, she will be having more attacks. Please try to care for her emotions and fears when she is normal and try to ignore her when she has attacks. Don't try to wake her up and give her water or sprinkle water on her face or take her from doctor to doctor and get blood and other tests done repeatedly. She will'wake up' on her own if she is left alone. She is unlikely to get an attack when she is alone. So safely you can leave her alone. These are temporary methods, till she talks to a psychiatrist or psychologist. Please get someone from her parent's house to take her to psychiatrist, if possible. Take the doctor's notes as non epileptic attacks to the psychiatrist.

I am a migraine patient. I am a student of FYJC class. I used to have medicines like Ciplar10 and Tryptomer 10. But nowadays I don't prefer taking medicines since they make me feel sleepy. My question is that my sleepy behavior is normal? What should I do? Since my headache problem still persists!

I am giving some health tips for Migraine headache •1.You can turn off light for some time •2.Apply hot or cold compresses to your head or neck. •Ice packs have a numbing effect, which may dull the sensation of pain. •Hot packs and heating pads can relax tense muscles. •3.Warm showers or baths may have a similar effect. •4.You can take Tea or coffee( but not excess) 5.Sleep well Here are some tips to encourage sound sleep. Establish regular sleep hours. •Minimize distractions. •Your eating habits can influence your migraines. •Be consistent. Eat at about the same time every day. Don't skip meals. Fasting increases the risk of migraines Avoid foods that trigger migraines Meditation This problem can be solved by Meditation, i can give you address of rajyoga meditation center near your house Consult Physician/me for further management

Dear Sir or Mam How to survive migraine & what are the caution & is there a treatment? Thanks already.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine, Fellow in Pain Management, DM - Neurology
Neurologist, Delhi
Hello lybrate-user. Migraine treatment depends on the frequency and the severity of the attacks. If they are infrequent and occur less than two times a month and if they are not so severe for you then you can take pain killers during attack however If frequent or very severe then you need to take long term treatment or prophylaxis Apart from that you should be relaxed not to take stress on daily issues as stress can increase migraine. To have a good sleep every night Avoid places with bright light and loud sound. Like in parties with loud music. Certain foods like chocolate coffee may increase migraine, but that varies from patient to patient. You need to identify which foods increase your headache and avoid them. Sometimes smell can also increase headache. Yes migraine is controllable to a large extent. As I said if frequent and severe then you should consult a neurologist for long term treatment.

1. Take crocin Pain relief one Tablet sos after food up to a maximum of three tablets daily at the time of attack, apply ice pack, massage scalp/temple 2. Drink plenty of water and take rest. 3. Avoid stress, anxiety, depression, agitation, exposure to loud noise, bright light, strong smell inadequate sleep, continuous use of cell phone since it precipitates migraine attack 4. Avoid salted /processed food, aged cheese, excess tea/coffee/alcoho (red wine)/caffeinated beveragesl. Don’t skip/postpone your meal, avoid hunger since it triggers the attack 5. Go for regular exercise, reduce weight if over weight 6. Practice yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercise to calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve you from stress 7. If You have chronic migraine, you have to take migraine prophylaxis like propranolol/ vasograin after consulting physician 8. I have seizure problem. doctor is confused between ncc or tuberculoma. Its almost 7 months. Please advise.

MBBS,J.R. Neurology
General Physician,
A ct scan or mri of brain with blood test for afb and chest x ray would differentiate the two. Both have 100% cure rates. So you need not worry. You have to be patient though. You can try giving a proper history to your doctor if you haven't yet. You can also go for eitb or elisa. Take care.
