Hello, follow the below medication and tips to strengthen the eye muscles:- Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

Hi Doctors Is green tea good for health, Since I have read some mixed reviews about it.
1-2 cups of green tea in day is fine instead of regular tea. More than that can cause adverse symptoms as it contains some amounts of caffeine too.

I am suffering from the redness on eyes due to laser operation now I wants to remove its redness what should be done?

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
I am suffering from the redness on eyes due to laser operation now I wants to remove its redness what should be done?
Redness of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1)Allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2)Infectious conjunctivitis : this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3)Foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles(more common with people working in the iron industry) The solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist AT THE CLINIC. (4)Raised intraocular pressure: This is a condition known as glaucoma. it is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral(occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5)Inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as "uveitis". It is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. IF YOU HAVE REDNESS AFTER THE LASER PROCEDURE FOR YOUR EYES, IT IS LIKELY TO BE TRANSIENT AND GO AWAY IN A FEW DAYS. STILL, IT WOULD BE A BETTER IDEA TO CONSULT YOUR EYE SPECIALIST AND GET THE EYES EXAMINED. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care, regards-Dr. Chaitanya.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

I have red eyes for three days as I work on computer. What should I do? Would it affect my eyes in future?
The solution for this problem is its reduced usage and while using computor use in proper light. There is nothing more effective than controlling usage to reduce and negate the effects. You can also reduce the intensity of the computor screen by attaching a filter or by getting an eye-friendly screen. Above all, one must try to reduce the amount of computor usage or take frequent breaks. Homoeopathic medicine CINELUBE EYE DROPS ( HAPDCO) Pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

SQUINT: A CHALLENGING PROBLEM

MS - Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Jaipur
SQUINT: A CHALLENGING PROBLEM

Normally the eyes are the best friends. They blink together. They move together and always keep the visual axis parallel, how paradoxical it is that healthy eyes visual axis never meet but it is the eyes who make you meet the desired person in your life.

When visual axis is not parallel in any direction of gaze, we call it a squint

Squint can be congenital or acquired. Congenital squints are usually more difficult to treat. Acquired squint may be due to refractive error. They can be traumatic causing paralytic squint which is more difficult to treat.

If both eyes converge (turn inside), we call it convergent squint. If they diverge, we call it divergent squint.

The squint can be constant or inconstant (sometimes).

A squint patient has to be examined fully by a very competent ophthalmologist at the earliest opportunity. The doctor shall find out the type of squint, its degree, and its nature. Fundus has to be examined. Refraction has to be done. Convergent squint patients quite often have a hypermetropic refractive error and sometimes can be cured by spectacles and exercise. Myopic eyes most often have a divergent squint. In some patients, the squint is quite hidden (latent) and it appears occasionally when patient have a strong emotion or absent minded. Most often these squints are divergent.

Management of squint needs spectacles, exercise at home or at syn optophone machine in the hospital and if it does not respond, then a surgery by an expert.

The challenge in surgery shall depend on a degree of squint, an age of onset, type, and age of surgery. Ideal age of squint surgery is 5-10 years. More the age, unpredictable results. Simply drugs do not cure squint. Paralytic squint more challenging. Earliest the better

I HV myopia, -1.75D . I want to use corneal refractive therapy for curing my eye. What should I do?
Hi, before opting for corneal refractive therapy, you can have homoeopathic medicines which will reduce your power gradually as well as will also reduce the myopic tendency. Include the following for getting better vision: vitamins a, c, e, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. Dha is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for strengthening eye muscles: -begin by partially closing your eyes; the lids should only be halfway shut. After holding for 10-15 seconds, close your eyes very slowly. Take a few deep breaths to increase oxygen in the blood. -warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. -hold a pen at arm's length. Focus your gaze on the tip of the pen. Bring the pen closer to your nose at a slow and steady pace. Repeat this exercise 5-10 times. -concentrate your vision on the tip of your nose. Then shift your gaze to an object further away, either at arm's length or 20 feet away. Then shift your eyes back to the tip of your nose. Repeat this exercise 10 times. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Begin by look to the left-most position (without moving your head) and hold to stretch your eye muscles. Hold for 5 counts. Blink and return your gaze back to look straight in front of you. Then look to the right-most position with your gaze and hold for 5 counts. Repeat 3 times, blinking between each hold. Then, repeat this exercise looking up and then down. Do not forget about blinking. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Look up and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look up to and to your left for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your left for 5 seconds. Medication: take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing first and then reducing the power of your eyes (if the eye power is less). Take physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 4-6 months and instill euphrasia eye drops twice a day. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.
