I have neck pain more than a year, consulted to the respective Dr. He wrote 02 medicines one pain killer twice in a day and meganeuron PG. After getting pain killer for a long {as he suggested} I am loosing my memory very frequently. Pl help what are the solutions.

MD - Anaesthesiology, Pain medicine
Pain Management Specialist, Bangalore
Sir, in a long standing neck issue it is advisable that you get a complete evaluation. These kind of problems may be muscle related due to faulty posture or due to skeletal issues. As far as your memory issue is concerned it may not be related to this. It is possible that the medication that you are receiving may make you a little drowsy and less agile. But this cannot be commented on till you tell what pain medication you were receiving. Regards.

What medications are best for the treatment of asthma? What are their side effects?

MD - Pulmonary Medicine
Pulmonologist, Khammam
Hi. Prevention n avoidance of triggers play the most important role in asthma management. Novel medications are available now for asthma are inhalers. Regular usage of these keeps your asthma in control. Side effects are negligible compared to oral pills. Bcause they are a part of targeted therapy. Work at the site of disease with out altering other systems. Thanq.

My Mother -80 yrs, 5.1'102 Kg She has high fat deposit in her body, specially in lower abdominal region. She can't walk properly because of it. Should we go for liposuction as a treatment to get rid of this excessive fat. Or you please Kindly suggest any alternative. Treatment.

I would suggest lose weight through diets, as after liposuction too. Not to gain again. You have to focus on diets only. Then y surgery. You can lose upto 5-7 kg in a month.

Which part of chicken is low in purines and is it like that one should eat lean cuts like breasts of chicken to avoid it.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
gout patients can have up 6 ounces of protein-rich, moderately high-purine foods like chicken each day. Limit yourself to 2- or 3-ounce servings at a given meal. Drink 8 ounces of water before and after meals containing chicken, especially if you have gout along with a history of kidney stones. If your gout symptoms have recently worsened, eliminate chicken from your diet until you feel better.Avoid breading and frying chicken to keep your fat intake low. Do not serve cooked chicken with high-fat cream sauces or rich gravies. The broth, bouillon and meat extracts often used to prepare gravy for chicken dishes are high-purine foods and should be avoided. Grill, broil, roast, stir-fry or poach chicken instead, using small amounts to add flavor to your meal instead making a large portion the focus. Serve the chicken with carbohydrate-rich foods since carbohydrates help your body eliminate uric acid.

I am 17 year old. I masturbate twice in a day. Is this habit dangerous for me. If yes then how can I leave it. I tried everything but nothing works.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Masturbation is only an alternative to actual sexual inter course, it's inappropriate to label it as either good or bad. To masturbate or not is just a choice to make. But. If you keep masturbating for relieving sexual anxiety and stress, then masturbation may become an obsession. Till date there is no documented medical evidence that the act of masturbation directly results in bodily harm or impairment in sexual activity. If you are unable to control your urge to masturbate and always end up feeling guilty after doing it, you are obsessed with it and have a compulsion to do it every time. In that case you might need some medications.

Iam 62 years old. Frequently suffering from constipation. I usually take homeo medicine and get quick relief. But now a days, i am getting this problem on and off. Please advice.

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Limit the amount of white bread, sugar, meat, junk food and milk products (cheese, milk, butter, cream.) and increasing fresh fruits, veggies, water and fiber (beans, oats,) also yogurt really helps due to the probiotics. Maybe you could do a food diary for a period, eliminate a couple of items at a time and build up until you have added enough other of good items to make the stools loose. Oatmeal helps out tremendously. Figure out the diet and once you've added enough good things, slowly pull back on the laxatives and pay attention as you go. This could be a food allergy, do some research, usually its lactose (dairy), nuts, sugar, food coloring, preservatives. Try to avoid boxed and processed foods which have more preservatives, calories, fat, high carb. Treatment is available, safe and without side effects in biochemic system of medication. Consult me in private.
