I have neck and back pain from last 5 to 6 years specially in the left portions of those parts of the body. I have pain in legs also. Even in morning after sleep, it pains. I feel unable to sit at a position for a long time and keep changing my position. I have not consulted anyone yet. Please advice.

Neck Pain This is cervical pain (neck pain) and that's the reason the pain radiates until the shoulder blades. If you keep ice that would help and along side you can do hot water fermentation. You shall use cervical collar which would help you to reduce the radiating pain ie. Due to the nerve compression and we suggest neck mobilization exercises that would reduce the stress falling on the shoulder. We also suggest patients to do shoulder mobilization exercises ie. General shoulder movements/neck movements which will help you to improve the blood circulation Back Pain This is a general back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.

You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There definitely could be degenerative changes setting in your joints at this age. Answers to knee osteoarthritis depends actually upon a lot of things but please tell me duration of pain and what are aggravating factors? how much distance can you walk and what is the analgesic requirement to carry out activities of daily routine? what medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. I also need to see your latest knee x rays so that I know what grade of arthritis are we dealing with on your case? normally without seeing anything I can still say that at your age you should take adequate amounts of calcium and vitamin d, do regular exercises for knee, back etc because these are the areas which undergo degeneration with age. Diet has got nothing to do with knee arthritis, but still take adequate calcium rich diet to keep bones healthy and strong do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. Start natural calcium supplement. Do regular stretching exercise In yoga DO BHUJANGASAN, HALASAN & SURYANAMASKAR. This will give you relief in mild to moderate cases. If you’re not satisfied please do consult u need medicines to achieve complete relief.

Lybrate-user ji cracking sound means some foreign body in your knee joint. For this you should consult an orthopaedic surgeon. And mostly you wil have to undergo a surgery.

Please do have clinically examined by musculoskeletal physiotherapist or orthopaedician to rule out peri arthritis shoulder or brahialgia for pain have hot water and cold water fomentation thrice a day for 12 days of 15 minutes duration each. Best wishes

I have writing problem (with pen, not with chalk) with right hand since last year. I can't grip the pen properly. Pen slips fron figure. MRI impression is'subacute infarct in left thalamus'and also increase in level of homocysteine to 34. Is there permanent cury for this? What it is?
