My wife has a problem of palpitation since 5 years. Even if the pulse rate is 80-90/min she feels it is beating hard sometimes. She says it gives a'crushing' feeling in the heart. Though nothing came out in ECG and echo when we tested last year and reports are normal but the problem still persists and she gets it once in 2 days on an average. Is there something to worry about?

Take it as a shock treatment. 2 blockages are removed and you will lead a normal life if you are are fully careful about dos and do nots. Do not smoke or get exposed to pollution. Keep blood sugar levels and lipids levels within healthy range. Eat moderately and keep bp and weight under control. Exercise moderately according to constitution. Take more proteins like milk and curds. All of proteins supplements. Reduce bad fats like transfats out of your food plate. Eat good fats like a spoon of desi ghee or butter and a katori of assorted nuts everyday. Eat carbs and seasonal vegetables and fruits plus eating according to constitution. Take a spoon of honey added to water every day. Drink apple cider vinegar plus a spoon of honey added to it. Drink pomegranate juice, it does bring down the blockages. Say no to negative stress, only positive fruitful stress to bring results. Help others with cardiac problems. Good luck.

Sir, I am 67 years old heart patient and was operated for cabg from escorts heart institute and research centre, new delhi in 2002. After this heart by-pass operation, I am perfectly fine in health. I am doing morning walk 6 km and evening 4 km without any rest regularly and also doing physical exercise, as and when needed and not having any sort of addiction habits, with no any breathing problem. I am diabetic since about 2 years back for which I wanted to have nature cure treatment, for which concerned nature cure hospital, desired my 2d echo report and the same was done on 19.03. 2015 from hero dmc heart institute, ludhiana. From the observations of 2d echo report, my lvef was observed 45% (50-80%) (mod. Simpson) which has put my mind on full tension due to some abnormal report. I visited fortis escorts heart institute, new delhi on 9.5. 2015 and had dobutamine- stress echo test, my particulars are as under: name of patient devinder kumar age 67 years. Gender male date of birth 20/12/1947. Height 5 ft 8 inch. Weight 83 kg. Blood group b + positive current medical problem as regards heart, I have no physical problem but since the observation of 2d echo report my lvef is below the normal range, which is causing full tension/feeling risk for life. Other diagnosed medical problems. 2nd problem is diabetic for which I am taking treatment. My main anxiety is:- whether my lvef will improve with medicines, or will remain as is and the medicines so prescribed will continue permanently and in this case the medicines may kindly be preslvef is below the normal range, cribed, earlier medicines taken by me are not reliable. Whether morning/evening walk/exercise is permitted or to be avoided? any risk/precautions? as mentioned in escorts heart institute dobutamine- stress ehco report: ------- lvef 45% at baseline and lvef 52% at peak dose needs clarification. Impression: dobutamine stress echo test is negative for reversible myocardial ischaemia may kindly be clarified please. Any surgery or other procedure recommended. In view of latest dobutamine-stress echo I want to seek fresh prescription from your side, which will improve my lvef, for which I fully hope that I will be fully helped and I convey my thanks for this act of kindness. Present medicines taken by me are not reliable. With deepest regards, yours sincerely.

In some cases, repeated examination and screening yield no positive results, yet the patient still complains of vaginal discharge. It is then appropriate to explore with the patient the nature of the discharge and relate this to normal physiological discharge, to review personal hygiene habits (advise to avoid douches, perfumed products and tight synthetic clothing) and to explore the possibility of the hidden complaint, such as depression, anxiety or psychosexual dysfunction. Graphotes - profuse, thin, white mucous discharge which comes in gushes with associated back and lower abdominal pain, discharge is more profuse in the morning on rising, constantly cold.

Cholesterol level should be measured at least once every five years in everyone over age 20. The screening test that is usually performed is a blood test called a lipid profile. Experts recommend that men ages 35 and older and women ages 45 and older be more frequently screened for lipid disorders. The lipoprotein profile includes: Total cholesetrol LDL (low-density lipoprotein CHOLESETROL also called "bad"CHOLESTETROL HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) TRIGLYCERIDES (fats carried in the BLOOD from the food we eat. Excess calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are converted into TRIGLYCERIDES and stored in fat cells throughout the body. High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. GARLIC,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . Cap. Im high blood pressure and diabetes patient how I decrease both this by food and exercise?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

Im high blood pressure and diabetes patient how I decrease both this by food and exercise?
Mr Debu, For treating both hypertension and diabetes taking prescribed drugs is essential. If you are already on drug treatment, then only the diet control and exercise will provide additional benefit. If you are looking for only diet and exercise without any drug treatment, then i am not sure whether there is any benefit. For hypertension your diet should contain less of salt (not more than 2.3 g a day). Our average diet gives almost 8 to 10 g of salt. (Sodium chloride). This means all food preparations made at home should contain minimal salt, no salt on table, no salt to be added to salads or fruits. No processed foods as all those contain very high quantity of salt. No pickles and papads, no salty substances fried shave or chivada etc. For diabetes your diet should give exact calories based on your Ideal Body Weight, blood sugar levels and extent of daily physical activity. You should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Refrain from alcohol and smoking, red meat and egg yolk. Plus at lest 1 hour of exercise on all days of the week or at least on 5 days.

My mother had got high blood pressure see can't put her head up see is having vomiting sensation.
Dietary and other lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure. Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 mm hg. This eating plan is known as the dietary approaches to stop hypertension (dash) diet. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and total fat. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kgs can lower your blood pressure. Strive for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.
