Electric toothbrushes are more effective at removing plaque. Those with heads that rotate in both directions (?oscillating? heads) and pulsate are the most effective. They are particularly useful for people with limited movement, such as disabled or elderly people, who often find that using a manual toothbrush does not allow them to clean thoroughly

I have an extra tooth coming out in my cavity how do I get rid of it can you please suggest a treatment for it.

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
You cannot get rid of the extra tooth by urself n you need to visit the dentist. If extra teeth causes prob to your normal permanent teeth now or in near future, they have to b removed. Dentist'll evaluate n let you know what he to b done with your extra tooth.

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too.

I have problem in my teeth (daad) it is fully empty it is giving me so pain what I should do.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed. •Medications for toothache: Advise C. Amox 500mg 1-1-1, thrice, T. Metrogyl 400mg 1-1-1, thrice, T. Imol 1-1-1, thrice (contraindicated in conditions with gastric ulcer, asthma, wheezing, and allergy), and C. Becosules 1-0-0 once, all for 3 days only.

No lybrate-user its other way round, body posture affects teeth positioning and lead to malocclusion. Mostly it occurs before 18 years of age till jaw grows. How? When you continuously forcing your jaws by palm one side for longer (While reading books, watching TV etc). If you mean facial deformity by sayin body posture, Yes, malocclusion can affect face shape in many ways. THANK YOU.

I am getting frequent mouth ulcer problem. Due to which unable to have proper meals. Please suggest reasons for frequent occurrence and remedy for the same. I stopped drinking completely since last six months. Before also I used to take max 100 ml occasionally.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

MDS Endodontist
Dentist, Mohali
The braces treatment depends on the severity of malalignment. Moreover it also depends on the dental setup. As far as I know in our area colleges of charitable setup charge around 8-10 thousand and private institutes and clinics charges vary from 15 thousand to 40 thousand.

I have a problem with my teeth. When I drink cold water and hot tea my teeth pain what I do please sugest me.

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
You may have sensitive teeth causes can be: fractured teeth worn out old filling gum diseases tooth decay/ cavities hard tooth brushing loss of tooth structure/ tooth enamel exposed root a healthy tooth has an enamel layer which protects your tooth by acting as a natural crown on the tooth. Enamel is the part above the gums. The enamel structure is also the strongest in a human body. Below the gums are the roots which are covered by cementum. And the enamel and cementum have dentin underneath them dentin is not as dense than enamel and the cementum and it contains microtubules these are small hollow canals. When the tooth loses its enamel or cementum the dentin is exposed, i. E the tubules are exposed allowing heat, cold, acidic or sticky food to reach the nerves and the cells inside the tooth. Exposure of dentin may also lead to receding gums. Thus leading to hypersensitivity. These sensitive teeth need to be treated. The type of treatment is governed by the cause of sensitivity. Your dentist may suggest you one of a variety of treatments.
