Avoid sitting cross legged. Ankle stretching. Ankle strengthening exercises. Avoid squatting. Quadriceps exercises. Core strenthening exercises. Stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation.

I am 22 age years old, from last 2days backpain is coming severely, I am using back relief ointment, but there is no relief, what can I do now.

I suggest you follow the below for your condition: take mag phos 6x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately.

I have severe lower back pain. I cant bend nor do any work as it pains a lot. This has been going on since 3 weeks now. Took medicines but no effect. I also get bad catch on my legs behind my knees on calf if I stretch my legs. It gives me a lot of pain. Feeling sick all the time causing headaches too. Please help me get rid of this and lead a normal life as before.

Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If no relief in 4_5 days, then inform again.

Doctor my age is 48yrs, male & married. Please suggest me, I am having lower back pain for the last 15 days also on my right shoulder. I am not doing any heavy lifting work neither on running job. I applied volini/moov no result till date. Please suggest me some medicine or ointment to apply asap. Ps: while sleeping it's getting very difficult for me to turn right or left. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned back pain and shoulder pain as your main problems but your duration is since 15 days. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine, tab diclofenac or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray like dynapar qps spray for local application can be used after ice fomentation and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. My wife aged about 44 years is having acute pain on her both knee joints and calf muscles. I consulted couple of doctors (ortho) who said she is suffering from arthritis and advised some exercise and prescribed some medicines but with very very little result. Please advise me how to get rid of her pain & suffering.

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. In case it continues consult a acupuncture/acupressure dr. In your place. Also take calcium tablets for a limited period 2 months. Consult me after 10 days for further guidance.

I am having frozen shoulder for about 2 years! I have been taking pain killers. But it is not helping.

Can be solved through acupressure/ acupuncture easily. Try this for 3 days. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening.

A gentle massage will help your shoulder muscles release stress and tension. In addition, it will improve blood circulation and reduce swelling and stiffness. Get the massage done by someone who can do a good massage to your shoulder. For massaging, you can use olive, coconut, sesame or mustard oil. 1. Warm the oil slightly and apply it on the shoulder. 2. Gently squeeze the shoulder muscles and apply pressure as well to relieve pain and encourage blood flow. 3. Massage for about 10 minutes, then put a warm towel on the affected area for best results. 4. Do massage therapy a few times daily until the pain subsides.

I am 65 years old male pure vegetarian with no bad disorders like alcohol, tobacco, etc but having blood pressure and diabetes, recently I had angioplasty for 2 blockages with 75% and 95%, now I had been advised to take only 1.25 litres of water in a day and diet plan too. I am having un easy irritation unfriendly in nature, not actually pain but uncomfortable sursurahat, in hindi we can say uneasy gudguddi in legs which doesn't allow me to sleep sometimes in left leg and in right leg or sometimes simultaneously. I can't explain the situation which makes my legs un bearable un easyness not pain as it doesn't allow me to sleep and my legs always I have to beat or rub on muscles or heat it with warm water, I have been doing all sort of leg exercise also and taking medicines for vitamin d and magnesium. Please suggest as it a long problem from last 20 years but since last 1 year it has made me uncomfortable in having sleep at night time and help me out of this situation please. Me. I am taking medicine pramipex 0.125 mg -3 nos and duzela 30 mg -1 no. At night respectively. This is all about my medical treatment. Please advice.

Hi looks like you have restless legs syndrome (rls) kindly rule out iron deficiency, diabetes. It can also be due to peripheral neuropathy alcohol and sleep deprivation. Treatment * begin a regular exercise program, *establish a regular sleep patterns, and *eliminating or decreasing the use of caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco, may be helpful. *leg massages *apply hot baths or heating pads or ice packs to the legs do reply for detail treatment plan. Hello lybrate user, good to hear that you are feeling much better from the pain relief medication. However, this is only symptomatic treatment and not the treatment of the cause. If adequate time has passed from the onset of your pain, I think the damaged tissue might have healed and it would be a good time to start you on physiotherapy exercises to strengthen your back muscles. Exercises help you increase the blood flow to your back and also improve the chances of removal of pain stimulating molecules from the site. They also help in stabilizing the spine. But, these exercises have to be started in a graded manner so that you don't injure yourself. You can consult a good physiotherapist or an orthopedic surgeon for the same. Hope this helps.

Shoulder pain may be due to sciatica also. Get your self tested. Bending forward may increase your problem. Homoeopathy has effective treatment for your problem without adverse effects. Take rhustox 200 ---once daily in the morning for 5 days.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Pain in back from last 5-6months. Numbness. L1-S1 dislocation of disc. Medication: Gabapin400 & tizan Doctor has recommended me for'root block sleeve so should I go for this or not? If yes then is there any further complications or side effects in future? Otherwise what should I do?

If pain is not improving and numbness increasing, surgery may help, but if you want non surgical treatment try at least for 3 months before resorting to any other treatment.

Hi Lybrate user Apply diclofenac gel in painful area after 3 - 5 min, keep hot pack 10 minutes thrice a day. Do some mild ex's, because ex's also relief pain. Ex's like Straight leg raise, Cat and camel ex's, pelvic bridging, stretching. Thank you.

It can be due to faulty posture, related to weak muscles, issues with intervertebral disc, narrowing of spinal canal, any bony instability besides many other, so accurate diagnosis is the key to proper management of the condition. You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your neck pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any radiating upper limb pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem.
