Dear, You seem to have features of premenstrual dysphoria. Steps you could take: 1. Keep a mood chart so that you can predict the days you will be uncomfortable. 2. 20 min of aerobic exercise daily helps reduce symptoms. 3. Reduce intake of refined sugars, excess salt 2 weeks prior to your periods 4. Eat more complex carbohydrates in the week prior to your periods. 5. There is some evidence for taking calcium supplements and pyridoxine supplements in the week before your periods. 6. Try not to plan stressfull activities during this time. If you can. 7. Communicate your difficulties with loved ones so that they can be more supportive during this time. Hope this helps.

Five years ago you would have been 16 years when the last stage of adolescence beckoned and you would have needed to resolve any childhood issues (like this sexual abuse you talk of among others), once and for all. It appears that you have lived with that and therefore there could be important things to be taken care of soon. This could all lead to depression (anger-related) and for some reason, you have turned the anger inwards and that is propositioning the suicidal tendencies. You must, therefore, meet with a counselor soon and if that person recommends a doctor you must comply with the medication too. It is also advisable to take your parents to meet with the counselor to help identify the childhood issues and also to know about the sex abuse. You have been a victim and need not blame yourself in all this. But it is important to face all the repercussions of sharing your experiences to a professional and in front of your parents. You will find it a great relief and will immediately feel better for it.

Hello lybrate-user, warts are basically viral infection and since its a highly contagious infection, its prudent to stop it as early as possible. I would suggest you to get them treated with radiofrequency cautery by a certified dermatologist. The cauterization will immediately remove your warts and render you non-infective. Take care.

This is a myth. Alcohol can cause a whole variety of physical, social and psychological problems. Sexual dysfunction is one of them, along with liver damage, sleep problems etc. There is no right way of drinking alcohol. If you can be abstinent it will be the best. Social drinking can not be encouraged by a doctor too. As most people are unable to control themselves after the first drink. If you are drinking heavily or regularly, I strongly urge you to seek help from a psychiatrist.

Have more proteins in your diet. Regular exercise will help boost general blood circulation. Avoid oiling your scalp. Use antidandruff shampoos containing ketoconazole. If hairfall and dandruff persists, see a dermatologist.

Headache During Pregnancy
Headache during pregnancy is one of the common discomfort.It may occur at any time during pregnancy,but they tend to be most common during first and third trimesters.
Causes
An increase in headache during first trimester is believed to be caused by the surge of hormones along with the increase in blood volume circulating throughout body.
Other potential culprits include lack of sleep or general fatigue, sinus congestion, allergies, eyestrain, stress, depression,poor posture,hunger, and dehydration.

If you have headaches in your first trimester, you'll probably find that they diminish or even disappear during the second trimester, when the flood of hormones stabilizes.
Women who have regular migraine headaches may discover that they experience fewer migraines during pregnancy ; however,some women may encounter the same number or even more migraine headaches.Experts estimate that about 1 in 5 women has a migraine headache at some time in her life, and up to 16 percent of those women get migraines for the first time when they're pregnant (most often in the first trimester).
Migraine headaches cause moderate to severe throbbing pain, typically on one side of the head. They last from four to 72 hours (if untreated) and are aggravated by physical activity. They can also be accompanied by other symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light and noise.

Headache during the third trimester tend to be related more to poor posture and tension from carrying weight.Headaches during the the third trimester may also be caused by pre-eclampsia with high blood pressure during pregnancy.

General Management
1.Avoid stress
2.For some migraine sufferers, a cold shower brings some fast – if temporary – relief. If you can't take a shower, splash some cool water on your face. A warm shower or bath can be soothing for tension headaches.
3.Practise good posture
4.Regular exercise can reduce the frequency and severity of migraines and reduce the stress that can cause tension headaches.
5.Eat balanced diet: Maintain your blood sugar by eating smaller,more frequent meals.
6.Get a massage:Massaging shoulders and neck is an effective way to relieve pain.
7.Rest in a dark room and practise deep breathing.
8.Avoid common triggers of migraine including:
*Chocolate
*Alcohol
*Old cheese
*Preserved meat
*Sour cream
*Smoked fish

Unbearable headache during pregnancy may be caused by some serious underlying pathology especially imminent eclampsia and need guidance.
Consult your doctor if you face such problem.

I am 53 years old. During my last health checkup I was found to have hypertension. However, tests like EEG, ECG, Tread mill were found OK. My BP varies from 104/64 (taken 2 hour after dinner and consuming 120 ml of scotch) to 190/105 (after exercise). Please inform whether I am alright!

Your BP reading varies, it has got increased after exercise, it is normal, you should take, at least 10 readings of your BP, especially in morning, and get back to me

Hi zeeshan. I can understand the pain you are going through. For your tonsillitis .start with warm salt water gargles atleast twice daily and pain killers twice daily too. This should ease your pain. But for complete treatment you need to visit an ent surgeon. Take care dear.

Hi. There are four main factors which causes acne: Oil production Dead skin cells Clogged pores Bacteria Factors that may worsen the acne: Androgen hormones, certain medications (drugs containing corticosteroids, androgens or lithium tcan worsen acne), dietary factors, including dairy products and carbohydrate-rich foods — such as bread, bagels and chips — may trigger acne and Stress can make acne worse. Management: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Masturbation is normal, natural and never unhealthy. Even animals do masturbate. . Human being also has sexual instinct and therefore he needs to satisfy sexual instinct. Therefore, to satisfy sexual instinct, a man or woman, masturbates. In any case, masturbation is never unhealthy or will never affect your physical or sexual health. Masturbation cannot affect your growth or cause pimples or cause hair fall or cause shrinkage of penis. You should try to reduce the masturbation frequency to thrice a week and continue masturbation. You can be sure; there are no side effects to masturbation if you are able to restrict it to thrice a week. I suggest online sex counseling and therapy. Take care.

Hello, lybrate-user, how long have you been having this problem? Get a urine analysis done see if you have any infection. Test can be done in any good lab and is not costly, And treatment for infection is also simple. Second if it is only in your thought then you can start with bladder training which is simple Follow these steps. 1. On a holiday when you know you are at home get up early and start drinking lots of water. And when you have the sensation to urinate. Hold it. Hold it till you cannot and then use the batroom. 2 .Do this as often as you can and train your bladder to hold for a longer time. Wait till you just cannot control.

Follow these important tips to get fair colour of skin * avoid to go in strong sunlight and if you have to go in sunlight then cover your face & exposed parts of body before going in sunlight. * Use sunscreen having SPF 15 on face especially in summer and spring season. * Take vitamin -E rich foods like dry fruits, egg and fish as you like. You can take cord liver oil capsule daily. * Take more anti oxidant foods like fruits (Apple, grapes, melon) and citrus fruits. * Make paste of Papaya and apply this paste on face & exposed body parts and leave it for 15 minutes. It brightens the skin and lower melanin content.
