I found a stone of 7mm in my kidney on ultrasound. I am taking water around 1 litre a day. I started taking around 3 litres a day now. Is it will be helpful or I have to consult a doctor. There is no pain also. Please suggest.

Definitely helps. In case of renal stones best thing is to drink 3-4 liters of water per day. Decrease salt and non veg. Repeat scan after 3 months. Depending on size next time treatment is based.

I am suffering from kidney stone and sugarplease recommend an easy diet and tips.

BHMS
Homeopath,
Dear lybrate user, a kidney stone is mainly formed due to the accumulation of the minerals present in urine. Such accumulation occurs mainly due to low intake of fluids. Continous low fluid intake results in the deposits of the minerals over the stone & eventually leads to an increase in the size of the stone. If the size of the kidney stone is below 3mm then it is possible to get rid of it without any surgery. Take homoeopathic mother tincture berberis vulgaris q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water for 15 days. The stone will be expelled through urine in between the span of 15 days of medication. But if the size of the stone is more than 3mm then you should surely go for surgery. One of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the blood stream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Once a patient is diagnosed with diabetes he has to take regular medicine to keep his blood sugar level within normal limits. Take homoeopathic mother tincture gymnemna sylvestra q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Also you need to walk at least 1 hour daily without any interval. Also you need to take a low carbohydrate rich diet.

I have symptoms of enlarged Prostate and these are linked to my difficulty in urination, where either I have a weak stream or get a sudden urge for urination and not able to empty the bladder. Additionally I get severe ache in the left kidney while passing urine, forcing me to at time withhold passing of urine. Though this not happen every time. All xray or ultra sounds in the past have not revealed any stone of any kind. Do you think the pain is due to non emptying of the bladder. What should be my line of treatment. Thank you for your advice.

Dear , before I suggest I would like see your reports especially usg and that too post-void residual urine. It is very likely that you have bladder neck obstruction. Also get uroflowmetry done. It is woth while to try alpha blockers like tamsulocin or doxazocin. Please post your reports Dr. Kiran mehta.

I have a multi stones i.e 3-4 numbers in kidney and outside of kidney. They are in size of 2mm to 6mm. I am facing a problem when I walk and run fast. I need a solid solution for the same.?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

2-3 mm stones can be expelled through lot of intake of water and some herbal diuretics. The situation of stones in upper or lower calyx also makes difference. Herbals help in disintegrating and dissolving renal stones. However herbal medicines do not cause potassium loss unlike by allopathic diuretics.

I get stones in my kidney for every 4 years and I practice kegel exercises for the betterment of my sex life. Does practising kegel exercises bad for kidney stones in terms of stones passing out or is it a good practice?

M Ch Urology

Kegel exercise and stone disease have no corelation, stone disease needs to be treated on its own merit.

Your Serum Bilirubin is within norma llimit. Yellow colour urine could be due to concentrated urine because of inadequate intake of water.Drink plenty of water(8-10 glass daily).

I am 21 years old and I am suffering from pain in rectal area and also from 2-3 days I have not proper urination i. E. Urine comes but it did not get delivered. What should I do?

MBBS
Doctor, Guwahati
There seems to be a small stone in your urinary bladder which might block your urethra when you put pressure during urination. You will need to consult an urologist, do an ultrasonography and cystoscopic examination.
