If the S.Creatinine levels are 7 then she may require Dialysis... If you wish for homoeopathic treatment then you should consult with more details... as this is not a condition where one should consider taking over the counter prescriptions...better consult with detailed case... Till then you may start her on homoeopathic medicne Zingiber Officinalis Q 10 drops in water thrice in a day... This will surely help to control increasing creatinine levels...

How can one check if they have breast cancer or not? What are the symptoms? Could you please explain it in detail?

How can one check if they have breast cancer or not? What are the symptoms? Could you please explain it in detail?
Hi, Self breast examination is the best way done at home to detect the lump. Any swelling increasing in size, nipple discharge, nipple retraction, swellings in the axilla, skin nodules over the breast are the major symptoms of breast cancer. Clinical breast examination is advocated for all patients along with mammogram above 40 years as a routine. Younger patients with any family history can get checked earlier with USG of both breasts or with MRI breast. Cancer is curable if detected early. Have a healthy lifestyle.

Home remedy for cough and bronchitis/ asthma

Home remedy for cough and bronchitis/ asthma
Home remedy for cough and bronchitis/ asthma

Ayurveda's marichyadi choorna:

In this age of polluted environment and weakening immunities due to present day lifestyle, people fall prey to ciugh, bronchitis, asthma, colds, sore throat etc. On slightest exposure.

Best of antibiotics, inhalers and cortisones become resistant and people keep on searching for better and still better doctors.

We do not claim that marichyadi choorna is replacement of other best regimes available, but we do claim if these simple things are adopted besides other of modern prescriptions, the response to medicine will definitely increase. Immunity is enhanced by natural herbs. In fresh cases, even primary treatment by such simple combos will not push the people to unmanageable levels over the years. Can be combined with other medicines also, even allopathic.

Formula:

Black pepper finely ground powder and sugarcandy finely ground powder in 1: 1 ratio.

Dose: 1 to 2 gms. To be licked with honey. Follow warm/ hot water sips. Even can be sucked without honey. It also clears voice. If 10 gms of this powder is boiled in 1 litre of water till it remains half, the water drunk slowly, cures chronic colds by excreting sticky cough.

Not suitable for diabetics.

Hi lybrate-user. Welcome to lybrate. The cyst you have mentioned is pretty big and it seems to be an endometrioma. These cysts not only disturb menses and cause pain but also result in infertility. I suggest you get it surgically removed by a good gynaecologist in your area. I'm sure you will conceive soon after. Hope this information has been helpful. All the best. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Thanks for your query. It seems that your friend has some disturbance in her respiratory tract. Since you have seen many doctors for that they might have ruled out most prooblems. I think that your friend is suffering from the ill hazards of environmental pollution. The pollution levels are rising so sharply that many children and adults are developing such problems without any speciifc cause. There is gross environmental degradtion all around us in the name of development and we can not escape its consequences. Try relocationg to a place which does not suffer from environmental pollution. Hello, I have one important query here and I would really much appreciate if anyone can give me a meaningful suggestion. My Mom is suffering from Diabetes since 26 years and currently she is on insulin. Her Diabetic level used to be high sometimes but now a days the level is decreasing. She does take timely medicines and goes for a regular checkup once in a month but recently the doc advised to take some tests which included some Kidney tests, ECG, Eco cardiology etc. The doc said that her creatinine level is high which needs some Av Fistula to be done. I was little surprised after doing a little research what Fistula is. It seems it's a preparation for Kidney dialysis. She is in Kashmir presently and I really don't think that the medical facility is good there and the doctors too. I was planning to get her here to Delhi for check up and to figure out what needs to be done in order to balance creatinine level. I would request you if you give me a little bit of explanation about the procedure and also suggest me which hospital will be good to visit for the same. I don't want to take any chance. Will appreciate your help. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your information is very general. There are no specific values mentioned to know exactly what is the situation. When diabetes goes on for over 20 plus years, that too if improperly controlled (with high blood glucose levels), then kidneys are affected, that leads to increased level of creatinne. You have not given either blood glucose levels (fasting & PP & HbA1c%), BP readings plus creatinine and urea. If doctor has recommended dialysis means matter is serious enough. Any good hospital in Delhi is good enough as all of them should be having specialists. Thanks.

How to handle masturbation? I masturbate once in a month or 15 days. Unknowingly.

How to handle masturbation? I masturbate once in a month or 15 days. Unknowingly.
Your frequency is very low and it is not of concern. Masturbation is not really bad; it is the addiction to it that is bad. Not even the number of years is a problem but the frequency and compulsiveness to do it is to be considered for its ill-effects. At your age you may feel it difficult and it can become addictive if you have alone time, if you obsess about it, and if you are not into relationships. The problem with addiction to this is that you may go on to prefer masturbation to heterosexual contact, even when you are married. That obviously would be an insult to your wife and will lead to a lot of conflict. Heterosexual contact is very wholesome and the physiology is made exactly for penile and vaginal contact. You will instead enjoy a poor replica of this and not know or care for the difference. The second thing that can happen with addiction is that it will become compulsive and will have no boundaries or limits, since it can be done all by yourself, whenever, wherever, and however too. The big problem a lot of children get into is the guilt around this. A useful way to discharge the energy is to get into contact games, or exercises, or even hobbies to channelize it. Also you should not spend too much time alone, and you need to keep your mind occupied with other interesting things and a lot of socializing. Even if you are not interested in marriage, for whatever reasons, it will help you to get into a friendship with a girl and enjoy the relationship where there will be a lot of excitement when you fall in love. Right now your hormones may be very active and your physiological apparatus is primed and ready for sexual stimulation. But because of your age and even otherwise it is important to develop good control and not feed into your impulses. Keeping yourself occupied and living a healthy social life are the keys to manage your sexual drives.

Diagnosis and Treatment for Hepatitis B & C

Hello. I am Dr. Somasekhar Rao, gastroenterologist, and hepatologist at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. I have been working as a a gastroenterologist for the last 8 years and the most common cause which I felt was that people are not aware was Hepatitis B and C. So, I thought I will talk to about these viruses in short. So, basically, there are two chronic Hepatitis viruses, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. We can talk about them together because they have similar symptoms most of the times and similar modes of transmission. So, these viruses when they infect a given body they don’t harm any other organs of the body except the liver and these viruses are hepatotropic viruses and this damage the liver.

The damage caused by these viruses can be detrimental, can cause cirrhosis of the liver and cancer of the liver. So, all these things are avoidable when we can treat them adequately at the right time. Most of the time if you do a simple test called HBsAg, we will be able to detect the virus called Hepatitis B and if you do a test Anti-HCV, we will be able to detect a virus called Hepatitis C. So, when we detect these viruses based on the patients other parameters and the liver function test, we will decide if the patient needs treatment and If the patient needs treatment, then there are good drugs available for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C, it can cure the disease. so, if we treat the virus then there is no chance of liver damage like Cirrhosis and cancer of the liver.

The mode of transmission of this virus is very important to know. Most of the times it is not only it is always intravenous. It can be transmitted by intravenous injections or needle sharing. It can be transmitted by blood products. It can be transmitted by sexual transmission. And, most of the time we see this IV drug abuser sharing needles. Therefore, these are the chances of transmission. The most important root of transmission is mother-child transmission which is another possibility of these viruses. So, we should be aware of these viruses and modes of transmission so that we can avoid the transmission of these viruses.

So, Hepatitis B is a treatable disease whenever there is a necessity. Whenever the liver function tests are high or the Hepatitis B viral load is high, we need to treat them. There are very good anti-viral tablets available for Hepatitis B and you are preventing the liver from going into Cirrhosis or cancer of the liver. Hepatitis C is a curable disease based on the Hepatitis C RNA count and Hepatitis C genotype. There are various drugs available in the markets which are newly available where the cure rates for Hepatitis C are more than 90%. So, I would suggest a simple blood test for Hepatitis B that is HBsAg and for Hepatitis C Anti-HCV can save your liver.

If you are positive, you need to consult your doctor and get treated. You can contact me through Lybrate or I am available at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad.
