I am 21 years old and for 1 and a half months I am taking medicines for acne but these are getting worse than before. I am taking reseton 20 mg and zincolak capsules. I did not see any results till now. What should I do?

MBBS, MD (Skin & V.D. MAMC) - Dermatology

I am 21 years old and for 1 and a half months I am taking medicines for acne but these are getting worse than before....
Dear patient, it's important to have a dual mode of action for such conditions. Aim should be to prevent new pimples from erupting and to dry the older ones simultaneously so that they don't leave any scar and dark spots. Though dark spots can be managed later on, it's very difficult to treat the scars because of acne and the worst part of acne is that most of them leave a scar or pigmentation when heal. Aim is to constrict the glands which is making the secretions on which bacteria find a good medium to multiply. Some patients also have acne on their arms shoulders and back and respond well to systemic treatment along with creams for local application. Lasers also can be done in severe cases and sometimes patient mostly female need some special drugs. So peels along with anti acne medication and oral tablets may help you out. It may take 4-6 weeks to get a proper control over them and according to the results we have to manage the drugs. We try to minimise the use of drugs through latest technology and treatment modalities. you can visit janak Puri B-2/31 after seeking an appointment with her. Though if managed by an experienced dermatologist, acne or pimples respond very good and patient do get back their confidence. Treatment sometimes need to be switched over to some mild to moderate anti acne therapies according to the results and urgency. Some people feel that they need not treat pimples as they will settle with age but mind it that they will keep on leaving scars as and when they erupt and heal and such scars are quite deep and ugly and difficult to treat The dosage of drug and its proper management is needed and sometimes a hormonal profile also has to seen to combat the increase.

Sir I hav uneven skin tone is there any best cream or serum to repair it pls pls reply sir am waiting for your reply.
There are many reasons why your skin would turn dark. Sun tan, overweight, pigmentation disorders like acanthosis or melasma, nutritional deficiency etc are some conditions. Unless someone examines you, we cannot know the cause. Unless we find out the cause it is difficult and pointless to treat. Please send photos with detailed history in private chat for proper treatment. Use a good sunscreen and start exercising. Take lots of fruits and green vegetables in your diet.

Yes it works. To remove the holes, I will suggest you to take Sulphur 0/2 daily in morning and evening for 5 days. It will be reduced and then gone. It will start healing from the first dose itself. Take care. :)

Tea Tree Oil: It is a great moisturizer for the hair; it helps to keep the scalp free of bacteria and fungal problems. Tea tree oil unblocks the sebaceous glands and encourages the flow of the scalp’s own moisturising oils while clearing away dead skin cells. Tea tree oil mixed with other essential oils is especially good as a scalp treatment for relieving dandruff.

How to Get Rid of Freckles?

How to Get Rid of Freckles?

Freckles are skin cells (keratinocytes) that contain melanin, which is a brown colored skin pigment. The skin cells are otherwise very normal, so the spots can't be felt since they are flat. They don't cause lumps in the skin but they are quite visible.

Here are some of the methods and home remedies with which you can get rid of your freckles:

  1. Prevent your face from the sun: This is the best approach to get rid of freckles. Wear caps with wide overflows so your face is in shadow. Attempt to abstain from going outside when the sun is high in the sky since this is the time when you get the most UV radiation. If you do go out, try to stay in the shade. Also wear sunscreens with SPF 50  constantly, without fail.
  2. Lemon Juice To bleach freckles away: Lemon juice is one of the best natural bleaches. Use the juice from crisp crushed lemons; delicately apply the juice onto the freckled regions. Be careful not to put the juice in your eyes. Leave the juice on for ten to fifteen minutes and wash off with warm water. You will need to do this twice every day for a few weeks before the spots vanish.
  3. Even out the skin color: Conceal the freckles by darkening the rest of the skin normally. Castor oil - an old solution for everything from blockages to upset stomachs - is fabulous for adding a light tan shading to the skin.
  4. A sake facial mask works fast: It causes the freckles to blur away quickly, since skin cell turnover rate is around three weeks. If you can keep the most reduced layer of cells from getting a considerable measure of melanin, the spots will be gone soon.
  5. Sour cream facial peels:Sour cream contains lactic corrosive, which are an exceptionally tender peeling operator. Apply the sharp cream to the freckled regions and keep it there for ten minutes.
  6. Fruit flavored facial peels: Use squashed strawberries and kiwi or cucumbers for a facial cover to create a peel. Banana crushed with mint leaves gives you a peel as well.
  7. Honey and lemon juice: Honey holds water and moisturizes the skin. It contains chemicals that are skin-lightening agents. Mixed with lemon squeeze, this is an extremely affective strategy to get rid of your freckles.
  8. Add nutrients to your skin while lightening freckles: Vitamin E oil not just blurs spots quick, it contains supplements that saturate your skin and keep it sound.
  9. Eating your way to fewer freckles: Vitamin C (citrus extract) in your eating routine helps your skin, pretty much as it does when you apply it to your face. If your skin is excessively delicate for lemon juice, then ensure you eat a lot of citrus product.
  10. Business bleaching creams with natural ingredients: Over-the-counter skin brightening creams that contain hydroquinone and oxybenzone can prove to be extremely effective. Common fixings, for example, bearberry, aloe, mulberry and different herbs are calming to the skin and help the spots without risk.

Allergy - Common Signs You Can Be Suffering From One!

Allergies are the result of the immune system’s response to foreign objects such as pet dander, pollen, certain foods, bee venom etc. In response to the allergen, the immune system produces antibodies, anticipating that the allergen is harmful in nature, even though that might not be the case always. The immune system can inflame the digestive system, skin, airways or sinuses when it comes in contact with allergens. The severity of allergies can vary from anaphylaxis to a minor irritation. In most cases, allergies cannot be fully cured. It, however, can be controlled with medication.

What are the symptoms of allergy?

  1. Various allergies cause different kinds of symptoms.
  2. Hay fever can cause sneezing, fluffy nose, itching of the eyes, nose, and mouth, swollen eyes etc.
  3. Food allergy can cause hives, mouth tingling, anaphylaxis, body itching etc.
  4. Insect sting produces symptoms such as anaphylaxis, cough, swelling on the source etc.
  5. Drug allergy can result in a rash, wheezing, swelling of the face, hives etc.
  6. Atopic dermatitis often lead to flake, itching, and reddening of the skin.
  7. There are other allergies that are triggered either by food or by insect bite. These can lead to a medical emergency known as the anaphylaxis. Some symptoms include skin rash, loss of consciousness, weak pulse, vomiting and nausea, shortness of breath etc.

What are the possible causes of allergy?

  1. Air:  A number of allergies occur from the surrounding air. Examples of such airborne allergies include pollen, animal dander, mould etc.
  2. Food items: Certain foods are known to be causing allergy such as tree nuts, eggs, peanuts, soy fish etc.
  3. Medication: There are medications such as penicillin-based antibiotics that can lead to allergy.
  4. Insect bite: Bite from insects such as wasp or bee can trigger an allergy in adults and kids.

What are the possible complications?
Allergy often leads to complication such as asthma, infection of the lungs, sinusitis, infection of the ear and anaphylaxis. The risk of getting these conditions increase, provided no treatment is done for a long duration.

How is the diagnosis done?
To investigate the type of allergy a person has, the doctor might ask for the exact symptoms that a person is encountering. He may ask questions related to intake of food and the possible triggers. A skin test is often performed, followed by a blood test to confirm the presence of allergy in an individual.

What are the methods of treatment?
Depending on the type of allergy one has, a doctor might prescribe nasal spray, eye drops, and pills to reduce the symptoms. Apart from this, if the allergy is severe in nature, a doctor might suggest going for immunotherapy and emergency epinephrine. Certain lifestyle changes and food habits go a long way in cutting down the symptoms.

You need to use a medicated shampoo which can be prescribed by a dermatologist. Along with that if you take tablets it would decrease the dandruff much further and for a longer period. Dandruff cannot be cured totally. It can be decreased with medications. Coconut oil can be used on hair night before shampooing.
