Vitiligo - The Ayurvedic Way Of Treating It!

Vitiligo - The Ayurvedic Way Of Treating It!

Leukoderma or Vitiligo is a pigmentation disorder, that destroys the melanocytes in the skin. The melanocyte is responsible for making pigment. There could be patches that crop up the inner layer of the eyeball, and tissues inside the nose and the mouth. Vitiligo affected hair sometimes turn white. There is no clear evidence for the causes of vitiligo., Most experts are of the view that vitiligo is an autoimmune disease - a type of disease where the immune system, fails to detect its own organs and behave like an outsider by attacking it.

Causes of vitiligo
Ayurveda states that the reason for autoimmune disease is the result of eating habits that are very opposite in nature- for instance eating milk and fish together. It results in the formation of toxins in the body and goes on to disturbs the immune system. As a result of this, the melanocytes that produce the pigment in the body quickly degenerates and results in Vitiligo. It is also associated with certain other conditions such as thyroid, pernicious anemia, psoriasis, diabetes etc. Some of the common symptoms of this condition include white patches on various parts of the skin, color loss inside the mouth and premature greying of hair in various parts of the body.

Ayurveda treatment for Vitiligo
Ayurveda believes that ivtiligo is caused due to the aggravation of harmful toxins in the body. Pitta in ayurveda symbolizes fire in the body. There are five different types of pitta and, one of these pittas is known as Bhrajak Pitta. The latter is responsible for giving coloration to the skin. In case this pitta gets imbalanced, it leads to the formation of ama (toxins) in the body. The toxin can get deeper and affect the lymph, blood, nutrient plasma, muscles leading to the depigmentation of the skin. Ayurveda believes that vitiligo is a deep-rooted, disease and can be only cured by the right diet and specialized herbal consumption.

Dietary requirement of Ayurveda:

  1. Processed and refined carbohydrate such as pasta, should be replaced with whole grains and whole wheat products.
  2. To ensure that antigenic activities do not take place and autoimmune disease is curtailed, it is necessary to forego non-veg food items such as red meat, fish and eggs.. Dairy products and milk should be avoided as well.
  3. Consumption of sour foods such as strawberries, lemon, yogurt and pickles should be eschewed.
  4. One should refrain from flavored and alcoholic beverages. Food items such as chocolates, ice cream processed and junk food should be avoided totally.
  5. It is essential to have a healthy diet and drink lots of water.
  6. Consumption of neem leaves also goes a long way in curing this pigmentation condition.

Exposure to fresh air and sunlight are important, to prevent pigmentation disorders. Our body produces vitamin D, when we get enough sunlight. This protect us from contracting many skin diseases.

Pimples or acne is caused when Hair follicles in your skin gets clogged due to oil, dirt, bacteria or dead skin. Acne generally occurs in people with oily skin but other factors like dead skin, dirt, pollution or hormonal imbalance can also cause acne in people with normal skin. Acne can be reduced or controlled by including some habits in your daily life style. 1. Keep your skin clean – Wash your face daily with an oil control face wash. You can also use a good AHA glow face wash that not only controls oil but also removes dead skin and bacteria. You can also use a good tea tree face wash. By shedding the old dead skin, your skin feels rejuvenated and clean. Apply a good toner, like tea tree toner after washing your face. After toning, apply an oil free and non- comedogenic cream on face. Last but not the least, apply a good sunscreen with minimum 30 spf daily. 2. Face packs – Occasionally apply good oil controlling face packs. Multani mitti + Lemon + yogurt is a good face packs for oily skin beauties. You can apply organic apple cider for 5 minutes after washing your face to kill the bacteria that clogs your pores. Green Tea can also be used as a toner once a day. 3. Diet – Most important thing is diet. Eat fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables daily. Reduce junk food intake, colas, alcohol and soda and consume whole grains. Keeping your digestive system healthy keeps your body and blood toxins free. Drink green tea, lemon juice, orange juice and food items containing Vitamin C as it is responsible for maintaining good skin health. Drink at least 10 glasses of water every day. 4. Exercise – Exercises, yoga, suryanamaskar improves the blood circulation and balances hormones. They keep skin healthy and boost body’s immunity to deal with several issues and not just acne. Include it in your daily regime.

Hi, Believe me, if you are genuinely happy from inside and taking nutritious, healthy food and daily yoga or some kind of exercises, it will be automatically reflected on your face. Yes, the colour which is inherited from your parents/ ancestors, cannot be changed, but you can try to get glow on your face!! Daily Regime: Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: You can also use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this daily or every other day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Make a paste of 'Kasturi Manjal' (wild turmeric) with rose petals, saffron and raw milk which is very effective. To exfoliate your skin, mix two teaspoons each of lemon juice and sugar. Apply the mixture on your face, neck and hands. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy glowing skin. Mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder with enough pineapple juice to make a paste. Apply the paste to your face and neck. Leave it on until the paste dries completely. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy two or three times a week to reduce the appearance of spots on skin. Make a paste by mixing equal amounts of turmeric powder and gram flour with a little water or milk. Apply it evenly on your skin and leave it on until it dries. Wash it off with lukewarm water, ascrubbing your skin gently in a circular motion. Follow this remedy once a week to lighten your skin tone and remove scars.

Sir/madam I am 25 years old my hair and beard is getting grey can I control or stop it Plzz.

Sir/madam I am 25 years old my hair and beard is getting grey can I control or stop it Plzz.
Greying of hair is a normal aging process which starts around 30 years of age. If happening before this age, it is called premature greying. The hairs which have already turned white cannot be turned back to black. But you can delay the process of greying of hair by some lifestyle modifications. Take adequate sleep and drink lots of water, eat lots of fruits and green leafy vegetables. Few multivitamin tablets can also be prescribed for the same. There is also one lotion which is supposed to work. You can contact me with photos for detailed prescription.,
