Hello, You can't actually do anything if the child turns out to be trisomic at birth. However you can opt for amniocentesis at 15th week and get foetal cell karyotyping done to confirm or rule out if the child is actually a down syndrome.

I think so. You must understand that normal chance of an abnormal baby is 0.5% but if you take a medication the chances will become 0.7% unles you take so much toxic drugs in 99% cases baby is safe. Do not worry.

To reduce fat from thighs so swimming, skipping, cycling push ups, sit ups. Along with this eat proper diet. Avoid fast foods, junk foods, processed foods. Take plenty of watery vegetables, whole fruits. Use unrefined foods. Protein foods will help to reduce fat and build muscle. Eat small amount of food. Avoid smoking, alcohol. Drink lots of water specially before meals. Take lukewarm water after meals. Quality sleep. These will help.

Dear you can follow these methods for relief from backache (back pain): * first correct your sitting posture. Do not bend your lower back. You can use lumber belt for support. * do regular back strength exercises. Move your clockwise and anticlock wise. * do not sleep on very soft bed, sleep on slight hard cotton mattress. * do tadasana and bhjangasana for back strengthening. If you can not understand these asans you can consult me. * take calcium rich diet and calcium and vitamin d supplements regularly. *do not take any heavy weight or heavy work. * if you are over weight then follow a good and effective diet plan to loose some kilos of weight. * you can take guggalu tablets of himalaya for fast relief.

Dear you can easily gain weight and get a healthy muscular body by following these best things - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly. If you have any disease of digestive system you should treat disease first. For proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. Or take 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper (kali mirch), 1/ 2 tea spoon of jeera (cumin), 2-3 slice of ginger. Boil it in one glass of water for 2-3 minutes. Drink 5-10 teaspoons (15-20 ml) in morning and evening for strong digestive system. Or you can take amla powder 1 teaspoon with water for strong digestion. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. I am sending the diet chart. Follow it in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid soft drinks, western fast food (burgers, french fries, pizza etc. They disturb your digestion. 6. You can try protein powders like endura mass, milk powder, soya protein. And creatinine for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day.

Hello. We can't make the grey hair turn black, but of course, prevent further greying! The causes of premature greying of hair are several. Here we have listed out a few common causes. Heredity is a major reason for hair greying Excessive use of tobacco and smoking Chronic emotional stress or psychological worries Lack of nutrients such as vitamins, iron, copper and iodine in the diet Medical conditions such as anemia, hypothyroidism, tuberous sclerosis or neurofibromatosis Home Remedies: 1. Add the curry leaves to the oil and boil it for 6 to 8 minutes, or till the leaves turn black. Remove from flame and let it cool. Strain the oil in a container and massage your scalp and hair with this oil 3 to 4 times per week before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 2. Turn the fenugreek seeds to a smooth powder and keep aside. Heat the oil and add the amla pieces to it, let it boil for 5 to 6 minutes, add the fenugreek powder to the oil, let it boil for another minute and remove from flame. Let it cool and strain the oil, apply on scalp and hair before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 3. Mix onion and lemon juice in a glass bowl and apply on scalp and hair evenly. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off with a mild herbal shampoo. Repeat it 4 to 5 times a week for 2 weeks. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine – Schwabe's Acid Phos. 200/ once daily and Weisbaden 200/ twice daily – all of them for 1 month. And a multivitamin - A to Z/ 1 cap. daily once for 1 month (as deficiency of zinc, copper and selenium can also cause premature greying). Use Schwabe's Arnica Shampoo and Hair Growth Oil. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. Here’s how to help yourself overcome sleeping problems: •Buy an egg timer. Using a tangible instrument like an egg timer helps keep your family on track with bedtime schedules. •Commit to a set schedule. Make sure that you go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning, including weekends. Staying up later on weekend nights and wake up later the next morning just makes your weekdays more difficult. If you are fighting fatigue despite the set schedule, you might need to increase your sleep time. Remember that younger children do need more sleep than older children. •Remove sources of stimulation. During the hour you get ready for bed, turn off the TV, music, computers, and video games. Don’t engage in arguments or initiate any rough play. This is an hour that should be very peaceful, That means that parents also need to be peaceful — no arguing with each other or the children. •Use a reward system. Give yourself stars, or stickers that can be traded in the next morning for a small reward. These rewards come when expected actions, like brushing teeth, are completed on time. Rewards may also be earned by staying in bed after lights-out. •Keep the house quiet. During the bedtime preparation and once you are in bed, keep the house quiet and calm. It’s a good idea to keep your voices down and turn down TV and music. •Return calmly to bed. Even with a reward system and a cozy bed, you might still want to get up. Return to bed without indulging in talking, arguing, threatening , or any other energizing activity. •Allow a full hour to get ready for bed. Once you have your egg timer, you can use it to count down the hour you need to wind down. Here’s how to break down the hour: oFirst 30 minutes: Set the egg timer for 30 minutes. This period of time is for hygiene — bathing, brushing teeth, and putting on pajamas. ONext 15 minutes: Set the egg timer for 15 minutes. This period of time is for a relaxing activity, such as reading a book, doing some relaxation exercises, or practicing deep breathing. OFinal 15 minutes: Set the timer for 15 minutes. This is for getting into bed (and staying there). In bed, there should be some sort of ritual between the parent and the child. Consider reading a favorite book, snuggling, praying, identifying good things that happened that day, telling a favorite story, or some other soothing and affectionate activity. Lights go out at the last “ding.” •Wake up gently. You need a good plan for waking The “bugle call” approach can actually set you up for a day-long spiral of ill temper. Instead, try a gentle action, such as opening the blinds or listening to a calm music and getting up. •Build in getting-ready time. You may need a morning schedule that is just as generous in time and structure as their pre-bed ritual. A chaotic rush to get out the door sets the wrong tone for the day. •Limit Caffeine and stimulants late in the day and Be Active. Caffeine and other stimulants consumed too close to bed time will keep you tossing and turning all night. The same goes for taking stimulant prescription medications too late in the day. •Exercise. Not only is exercise beneficial for your overall health, but it plays a very big role in helping you sleep and feel better. However, it is not recommended to workout or engage in any major exercise too close to bed either. It can actually have the opposite effect in helping you achieve the rest you desire. Try and get regular exercise during the day or very early evening to avoid being wired at night. Regards,

I was gone through a Heart Checkup. My ECG and Echo with color doppler are normal. Fasting blood sugar is normal. HDL 38 and LDL 176. I am 48 years of age and smoke occasionally with no bp and no diabetic. Dr. advised Crestor 10 Mg bed time and TMT. What is your opinion?

Mr. lybrate-user, If ECG & Echo are normal and if you have no symptoms related any cardiac problem, TMT is not necessary at all. Taking Atorvastatin 10 mg may be useful to reduce LDL. Thanks.

Early Morning You can have any of the following items to start your day. 1 glass of lukewarm water with lemon juice added to it. This drink will have zero calories in it. Breakfast 2 Idlis and half a cup of sambar and a cup of low fat milk Mid Morning Snack You can use boiled pulses, green salads, low- calorie fruits or nuts as a snack Lunch cup brown rice (not to exceed 200 grams cooked rice) and cup mixed vegetable gravy along with one bowl mixed vegetable salad and 1 small bowl raitha or low fat curd. Hi Instant detoxification of body is not possible. Foods like betroots help in gradual detoxification. However this area is still a matter of research. Other foods which are said to have detox effects are lemon, garlic, flaxeeds etc. It is a constant process of creating balance within the body by having foods that are natural and that heal. It is not a one/ seven day process.

Fried foods or food items that are high in cholesterol and saturated fats should be avoided as these foods can cause an increase in DHT levels (a by-product that causes hair loss).

Now a days, dengue and swine-flu fevers are prevailing which may need immediate hospitalisation. Get tested for these fevers. If this is only ordinary fever, take homoeo medicine belladonna 30 (6 to 8 pills) --3 times (hourly) in the morning and arsenicum alb 30---3 times (hourly) in the evening. If the fever continues after 1or 2 days, have a check-up with local doctor.
