I have small lump like skin hanging from the outside of my anus. I got it since childhood, At times it swollen & it become very difficult to sit sometimes I have a constipation problem too infect my maternal side have constipation problem. I want to remove this part as it looks very ugly & not normal please help?

MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
In the majority of cases, piles resolve on their own without the need for any treatment. Treatments can help significantly reduce the discomfort and itching that many patients experience Diet - piles can be caused by too much straining when doing bowel movements, which is the result of constipation. A change in diet can help keep the stools regular and soft. This involves eating more fiber, such as fruit and vegetables, or switching your cereal breakfast to bran. Water is the best drink, and the patient may be advised to increase his/her water consumption. Some experts say too much caffeine is not good. Body weight - if the patient is obese, losing weight may help reduce the incidence and severity of hemorrhoids. Simple things you can do yourself to help prevent piles: Try not to strain when you go to the toilet Avoid laxatives Exercis take tab pilex 1tab tds, anovate cream locally inside anus, siltz bath [hot water in a tub, add kmno4 in it, sit 1/2 an hr in tub, it will help.Avoid spicy ,Drink 3- 4 Litre of Water Daily. welcome for further help. or go for surgery

My son's age is 14 years, his BP is around 130/70 to 140/70. His height is 164 cm and weight is 66 kgs. His father has diabetes and BP. Whether my son will have any problem in future?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
At 14 years his bp particularly systolic is high. Ideally it should be closer to 105 to 110 and diastolic around 60 to 70 mm. If father has diabetes, then children can get it. But it is a preventable condition. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle one can prevent or postpone it.

5 Ways To Deal With Hyperhidrosis!

MBBS, MD-Dermatology,Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Bangalore
5 Ways To Deal With Hyperhidrosis!

Sweating is a normal function of the body, but some people sweat so much that their clothes are often drenched in sweat. Hyperhidrosis is a condition where the amount of sweat produced by the sweat glands cannot be regulated. It is characterized by excessive sweating commonly seen in the underarms, palms and soles. This disorder can affect a person at any age and if left untreated, can become a lifelong condition. Though this condition is not a serious threat to your health, it can be quite embarrassing and can hamper your lifestyle.

In many cases, there is no obvious trigger for Hyperhidrosis, and it is caused by the malfunctioning of the nervous system. This is known as primary Hyperhidrosis. Sweat is a function which helps the body cool itself. In cases of primary Hyperhidrosis, the brain sends a message to the sweat glands to produce sweat even though the body does not need to be cooled. A genetic mutation may also be the cause for some cases of Hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis with obvious trigger factors is known as secondary Hyperhidrosis. While primary Hyperhidrosis mostly affects the underarms, groin, palms and soles, secondary Hyperhidrosis can affect all parts of the body. Some of the common triggers for this condition are:

  1. Pregnancy
  2. Menopause
  3. Anxiety
  4. Low blood sugar
  5. Hyperthyroidism
  6. Medication side effects
  7. Alcohol or drug withdrawal
  8. Parkinson’s disease

Hyperhidrosis can be challenging to diagnose and treat. Lifestyle changes are the easiest way to address this disorder. Some changes that can help you fight Hyperhidrosis are:

  1. Avoid spicy food and alcohol
  2. Replace deodorants with antiperspirants
  3. Choose cotton fabrics over synthetic fabrics
  4. Wear loose fitting clothes.
  5. Try using armpit shields and wearing absorbent socks.

Anticholinergic or antimuscarinic medicines can also help treat Hyperhidrosis. This keeps the nervous system from activating the sweat glands. Dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, abdominal cramps and difficulty in passing urine are some of the side effects associated with this medication. Iontophoresis is a more aggressive form of Hyperhidrosis treatment. This involves passing a weak electric current through a wet pad to the affected area to block the sweat glands. It is usually used to treat excessive sweating in the palms and soles.

Botox injections can also help treat Hyperhidrosis by blocking the brain signals to the sweat glands. However this is not a permanent cure and may need to be repeated after a year or so. Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy or a surgery to remove the sweat glands may also be recommended in extreme cases of Hyperhidrosis. This is usually seen as a permanent solution for excessive sweating, but are relatively new procedures and hence not very common. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

I am a 20yrs old male and I had cramp on my right ankle 4days ago and it is not curing.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
These steps may help prevent cramps: avoid dehydration. Drink plenty of liquids every day. The exact amount depends on what you eat, your sex, your level of activity, the weather, your health, your age and any medications you may be taking. Fluids help your muscles contract and relax and keep muscle cells hydrated and less irritable. During the activity, replenish fluids at regular intervals, and continue drinking water or other fluids after you're finished. Stretch your muscles. Stretch before and after you use any muscle for an extended period. If you tend to have leg cramps at night, stretch before bedtime. Light exercise, such as riding a stationary bicycle for a few minutes before bedtime, also may help prevent cramps while you're sleeping. You can usually treat muscle cramps with self-care measures. Your doctor can show you stretching exercises that can help you reduce your chances of getting muscle cramps. Making sure you stay well hydrated also can help. For recurrent cramps that disturb your sleep, your doctor might prescribe a medication to relax your muscles.

My dick is some wat cross may I Know to get straight level please help me in this because I'm unable to do properly.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
A curved penis simply can be a result of individual anatomy. The direction that an erect penis takes depends on the proportion of crus (penis under the skin) to exposed penis. Men with a shorter crus, and thus a longer penis, are more likely to have an erection that points downward, while an erect penis that has a longer crus will probably point outward, or even straight up. Sometimes the penis also bends to the left or to the right. I think in your case bending may be due to short crus. In the vast majority of cases, the curve falls well within the norms of most men and should not be a deterrent for a relationship. If, however, your penis has a pronounced curve or bends sharply to the left or right — especially if penetration is impossible or if an erection is painful — you should see a urologist.

Semen is a white or off white fluid that within about 30 minutes turns runny and clear. Any changes in colour or smell could be a sign of something more serious. Red or brown semen can highlight prostate problems.

What is the perfect treatment for diabetes? How to control it? Maximum Indian are diabetics patient here. Thank you.

BHMS
Homeopath,
Dear Mr Rohit.....You must have heard the saying PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE....That proverb is exactly related to Diabetes.Once you are diagnosed with diabetes then be sure to maintain a carbohydrate-less diet and take medicines for the rest of life....If you can maintain your diet and walk for at least 1 hour a day then may be your blood sugar level normal, but it will always tend to rise....If you are suffering from diabetes then your first priority should be not to higher your blood sugar level.....If your blood sugar level gets rising continously then you may turn into an INSULIN DEPENDANT DIABETIC patient.....in that case you have to take Insulin hormane daily from external means.....So, I would advise to maintain a carbohydrate-less diet and a walk for 1 hour daily in case you are diagnosed with diabetes
