I am suffering from piles, now there is no bleeding but feeling uncomfortable, which medicine should I take for permanent solution.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Hyderabad
Piles occur when the veins surrounding the anus are inflamed. Occurrence of haemorrhoids can be due to pregnancy, aging, chronic diarrhoea, constipation, straining to pass stool, sitting for long periods,, obesity and genetics. Bleeding occurring in the anal area, itching, discomfort, and swelling may indicate haemorrhoids. Precautions- Have regular food habits as well as habit of going for motion. Don’t avoid when you have an urge for going to toilet. Take 2 to 3 glasses of warm water in the morning. This will help in reducing acidity as well as hardness of stool and you don’t have to strain your pelvic muscles. Keep hydrated by drinking lots of water and having fruits and vegetable juices Avoid sitting for long time at one place. Sedentary habit causes constipation. Driving bike or cycle for long duration at a time may be avoided. Travelling in a car or bus for long journey is also not good. Train is better as you can change positions. Avoid chillies, masalas and such hot foods. Take easily digestible foods including curds and fruits. We have very good treatment in homoeopathy. To start with, take Nux vom 200 twice daily morning and evening and give feedback after 5 days.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your test report is concerned it is prediabetics so you need lifestyle modifications only if your urine sugar is absent- 1) Try to eat healthy foods. Choose foods lower in fat and calories and higher in fiber. Focus on fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Consult with a dietician to make a chart for it. 2) Get more physical activity. Aim for 30 minutes of moderate physical activity a day. Take a brisk daily walk. If you can't fit in a long workout, break it up into smaller sessions spread throughout the day. 3) Try to lose excess weights. If you're overweight, losing even 7 percent of your body weight can reduce the risk of diabetes. To keep your weight in a healthy range, focus on permanent changes to your eating and exercise habits. Hope that helps.

How we can protect ourselves from the disease dengue? What are their symptoms to understand it? Please advice.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
How we can protect ourselves from the disease dengue? What are their symptoms to understand it? Please advice.
The principal symptoms of dengue are: High fever and at least two of the following: Severe headache/Severe eye pain (behind eyes) Joint pain/Muscle and/or bone pain Rash or Mild bleeding manifestation (e. G, nose or gum bleed, petechiae, or easy bruising) Watch for warning signs as temperature declines 3 to 5 days after symptoms/fever began, as this is the most dangerous period when platelet counts decline significantly. Report immediately to hospital if any of the following warning signs appear: Severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting Red spots or patches on the skin Bleeding from nose or gums Vomiting blood Black, tarry stools (feces, excrement) Drowsiness or irritability Pale, cold, or clammy skin Difficulty breathing There is no specific medication for treatment of a dengue infection. Persons who think they have dengue should use analgesics (pain relievers) with acetaminophen (crocin or dolo -650 mg) and avoid those containing ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin or aspirin containing drugs. Take rest, drink plenty of fluids like coconut water, lime water etc. To prevent dehydration. Preventing dengue fever: the best way to prevent the disease is to prevent bites by infected mosquitoes.Avoid visiting heavily populated residential areas, if possible. Use mosquito repellents, even indoors. When outdoors, wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants tucked into socks.

If you are bitten by stray dog must take 1. Anti rabies shots as per recommended schedule. 2. Take hyperimmune serum which is to be injected around bite site within 24 hours. Unfortunately it may not be available in every place. 3. Take tetanus vaccine 4. Course of antibiotics. I hope you washed yor wound immediately and dog bite is usually not dressed. Consult your doctor immediately if not done till now.
