no need any belt for exercise. di stretching exercise and strength exercise in gently process. tk calcium supplements and posture correction must. avoid toward bending.

Hi take following precautions. 1) wear loose-fitting clothes, socks, or stockings. 2) raise your legs 6 inches above your heart from time to time. 3) wear special stockings (called compression stockings) if your doctor prescribes them. 4) do exercises your doctor gives you. 5) change your position often, especially during a long trip. 6) do not stand or sit for more than 1 hour at a time. 7) eat less salt. 8) try not to bump or hurt your legs and try not to cross them. 9) do not use pillows under your knees. 10) raise the bottom of your bed 4 to 6 inches with blocks or books. Take all medicines the doctor prescribes you. Best wishes.

Hi lybrate-user, I have seen your question stating" severe pain in left leg starting from back till toes" on observing your profile sanya. Female 43 years 10 months 5.4 feet 80 kgs I observed that for your height 5.4 your weight should be in the range of 49 kg to 60 kgs which is slightly more. I must say here, as the age reaches in females due to various reasons ie low calcium levels and weight can affect legs and back. I suggest please get your vitamin d checked! I also guess its symptom of sciatica usaually this occur after 40s. Acupuncture works better for both sciatica and weight loss too including many acute and chronic conditions.

Continuuously work is your problem tk break between work and do walk for 5 to 10 minute and slight stretch your muscle. Then again do your work. And heat formation with rest time and apply the pain relief ointment.

Dear sir, my mother is 62 years old and due to minor accident at home she got a injury on her nee before 5 days, after the accident nee is sowlen and black in colour, but after the massage with ice and valoni jel she feels better and she can do daily routine work smoothly, but now the black color is spread. And we are consulted an orthopedic doctor and digital xray the report is normal, but black color is still spread. Therefore you are requested please suggested what can I do.

Dear , I am Dr. Saseendar, specialist orthopaedic surgeon from chennai. If the orthopaedician has ruled out a fracture, then you need not worry. Also you said she is able to do her routine activities comfortably. The black colour is most likely because of hematoma and will resolve in a few days time. If possible kindly post pictures of the knee.

Back Pain Advice…. Hot Fomentation x twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction. Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x twice daily. Bhujang Asana x twice daily. Back Stretching.

Dear lybrate-user basically might be due to position and pattern of sleep adv to avoid use of pillow and lying on flat surface and lying on back and if then also pain persist go for x ray it might be cervical spondylosis.

Dear lybrate-user, your back problem if severe can be because of many reasons. Get yourself checked by the physician and tell me the report. And you should do these yogasanas- supine hamstring stretch. Two knee twist. Do this regularly and daily to get relieved.

You should be already walking with help of crutches. Walking with weight bearing should be done only after the bones have united. Kindly show me x rays so that I can give opinion about union of fracture.

Regular movements/exercises for the knee will definitely receive his pain. If the pain still persists after exercise, please apply cold pack for 10 mins on each side. You have to repeat this for 4-6 times a day.

Good to know that her test reports are normal, even if she says that she does not have any tensions, who knows that she may be harboring internal tensions and is good at hiding her emotions, bottled up feelings can be dangerous. Get her enrolled for yoga and meditation classes and please do not remind her about her illness again and again, rather reassure her that there is nothing wrong with her.

Take rest. Don't lift weight with that hand. Apply ice pack 5 times daily for 10 minutes every time on shoulder. If you don't feel better in 2 days then you will need medicines.

I have osteoporosis in my both knees. They are painful & stiff if I stand for long hours. Doctors are suggesting I can delay operation for a while. Is there any remedy to avoid operation. Please suggest.

If it is a stage 3 artritis then no remedy to avoid operation. U just start doing strengthening exercises around the knee joints.

Goodevening mam yes I ahve understood your question. Firstly you must start with a couple of isometric exercises for your knee. Place a towel while lying down under your knee and press it down till about 10 seconds and then release. Then you should raise your leg upto 45 degerees and hold for 10 seconds. Secondly do active knee bending and straightening of knee while in sitting position. Do these exercises every day twice. Please let me know how your feeling.
