All of us have our 'good and bad hours' each day. While there are the night owls, who are more productive and ideating in the late night hours, there are others who like to be the early bird that literally catches the worm.  For both these categories, there are again hours where the energy wanes. Did you know there are some simple techniques that can help to maintain consistent levels of energy throughout the day?

As much as possible, try and maintain a regular routine in terms of waking up, eating at the same hours as closely as possible, and retiring for the day. The biological clock or circadian rhythm needs to be maintained as much as possible if high productivity is desired.

Here are some things that can be completely and easily controlled to keep your energy levels steady through the day.

  1. Vitamin & mineral deficiency: It is important that we include loads of fresh fruits and vegetables in our diet, in order to nourish our body with required vitamin and minerals. This is important that a deficiency of vitamins like B12, D can often lead to fatigue or low energy levels. 
  2. Hypothyroidism: Fatigue is one of the most common signs hypothyroidism and as per clinal records it has been established patients suffering from hypothyroidism have reported a significat drop in the level of fatigue by getting their hypothyroid treated.
  3. Sleep patterns: Be it going to bed or waking up, try and maintain a pattern that does not vary too much, at least not drastically.  After waking up, a good dose of light in the morning is very helpful. If your work requires you to sleep during the day, ensure you get up into a room that is well and brightly lit.
  4. Exercise: Whether is it Saturday or cloudy, a 30 minute workout does magic like nothing else. Get outdoors and be it a walk or a run, cycling or swimming, you will see nothing else boosts your energy as well as this. 
  5. Nutrition: Reduced carbohydrates, a good dose of protein, ample hydration, adequate fiber intake, and good quantity of dry fruits are somethings to definitely follow. Start with a good breakfast that can boost your energy requirements for the day and eat less as the day goes by. 
  6. Caffeine: One of the most pleasant experience is to wake up to have a refreshing cup of coffee. While it sounds exotic, the body benefits more if this caffeine is provided sometime later in the day when the energy levels are low. 
  7. Alcohol: For many, alcohol could be a way of stress busting, but if scientifically looked at, alcohol reduces the quality of sleep and leaves you feeling unrested. It also leaves one tired and irritated. If possible, the alcohol intake should be at least 2 hours before bedtime.
  8. Power naps: Highly proven technique, where possible, a power nap of 15 minutes is believed to boost up energy levels significantly.

आंवला आपकी सेहत के लिए सबसे लाभदायक फलों में से एक माना जाता हैं। आंवले का इस्तेमाल हम कई तरीको से करते हैं। आंवले का अचार, आंवले का मुरब्बा आदि बड़े ही चाव के साथ खाया जाता हैं। वैसे तो आप आंवले को कच्चा भी खा सकते हैं, यह खाने में पहले थोड़ा खट्टा लगता हैं, लेकिन जब आप इसे खाते हैं तो इसमें से हल्की हल्की मीठास आपको महसूस होने लगती हैं।
आंवला कुदरत की तरफ से मनुष्य को दिया गया अनमोल उपहार हैं। इसके सेवन से शरीर में पैदा हो रही कई सारी बिमारियों का खात्मा हो जाता हैं। इसी तरह इस आंवले से इसका जूस भी निकाला जाता हैं। क्या आपको पता हैं रोजाना सुबह आंवला जूस पीने से स्वास्थ्य को कितने ज्यादा लाभ होते हैं?
आंवले का जूस अगर आप सुबह उठकर पीते हैं तो आपका पूरा दिन बहुत अच्छा बन जायेगा। आंवले के जूस में विटामिन सी और आयरन बहुत ही अच्छी मात्रा में पाए जाते हैं। हर व्यक्ति को प्रतिदिन 50 मिली ग्राम विटामिन सी की आवश्यकता होती हैं, जिसे आप आंवला खा कर या फिर इसका जूस पी कर पूरा कर सकते हैं।
तो चलिए जानते हैं आंवले का जूस बनाने की विधि और इसे पीने से सेहत को हओने वाले फायदे 

आंवला जूस बनाने की विधि
एक किलोग्राम आंवला ले, जोकि गिनती में कम से कम 35 आंवले, सबसे पहले आंवलो की गुठली निकाल लें, फिर सभी आवलों को चार चार भागों में काट लें। तदपश्चात आवलों को बारीक पीसने के लिए मिक्सी ग्राइन्डर का उपयोग करें। आंवले ग्राइन्डर करते समय पानी का उपयोग विल्कुल न करें। जब आंवले बारीक, अच्छी तरह से पिस जायें तो पिसे हुए तरल को किसी साफ छन्नी से छान लें। फिर दुबारा से एक साफ सफेद कपड़े से छान लें। और अलग साफ बर्तन पर रखें। इस तरह एक किलो आंवलों से आधा किलोग्राम आंवला का जूस निकल जाता है। फिर बारी आती हैं आंवला जूस स्टोर की, जूस को किसी काॅच की बोतल या कांच बर्तन में ही रखना चाहिए। कांच में रखा आंवला जूस जल्दी खराब नहीं होता 

आंवला जूस पीने योग्य बनाना
तैयार आंवला से आध गिलास जूस बोतल से निकालें, उसमें 2 चम्मच शहद, चुटकी भर काला नमक, चम्मच से अच्छी तरह से घोलें। यह हो गया आपका आंवला का जूस। और पीईये बड़े चाव मजें से पौष्टिक आंवला जूस। 

आंवले का जूस पीने के फायदे - 

1. त्वचा के लिए फायदेमंद
आंवले के रस में एंटीऑक्सीडेंट प्रचुर मात्रा में पाए जाते हैं, जो बढ़ती उम्र का असर आपके चेहरे पर नहीं पड़ने देते हैं। इसलिए नियमित रूप से आंवला जूस पीते रहने से आप लम्बे समय तक जवां दिखाई देते हैं। इसके सेवन से आपकी स्किन चमकदार बनती हैं। प्रतिदिन आंवले के रस में शहद मिला कर पीने से आपका चेहरा चमकदार बनता हैं और चेहरे से झाइयाँ ख़त्म होने लगती हैं।

Huntington's Disease - Understanding the Stages of Symptoms!

Do you know that Huntington’s disease is an inherited disease? This condition leads to the progressive degeneration of the nerve cells present in your brain. Huntington's disease has severe impact on several functional abilities of an affected person and results in psychiatric, thinking and movement disorders.

Huntington’s disease occurs from an inherited defect present in a single gene. It is a form of autosomal dominant disorder, which indicates that a person requires just one copy of the defective gene for developing the disorder. Except the genes on the chromosomes, two copies of every gene are inherited by a person. The affected parent may pass along the defective gene copy or the healthy copy.

Commonly, the symptoms of Huntington’s disease start appearing during midlife. It may also affect a person during childhood. The symptoms of this disease vary from person to person. Abnormal movement and weight loss are common symptoms, which occur in all stages.

Early stage

The usual early stage symptoms include the following:

  1. Slight coordination changes, which affect balance and make you clumsy

  2. Uncontrollable fidgety movement

  3. Stiffness and slowing

  4. Irritability and depression

  5. Problems with thinking in difficult situations

Middle stage
With passing time, the symptoms start interfering more with the patient’s daily life and activities. You may start dropping things, face trouble with swallowing, and talking. Staying organized may get tough. Certain emotional changes are indicated.

Later stage
In the later stage of Huntington’s disease, a patient becomes dependent on others for taking care of them. A patient cannot walk or speak, and fidgety movements are likely to become more severe or may subside.

Huntington’s disease has no fixed cure. Several measures are followed for managing the symptoms. They are as follows:

  1. Medications are used to manage fidgety movements. Other medicines are also used for controlling any other side effect experienced.

  2. Speech or language therapy may be beneficial in case of speech and swallowing problems.

  3. Physical therapy may help you in improving your control movements. Assistive devices like handrails can be used for managing your changing physical abilities.

  4. Nutritional support is used in which special utensils are used to focus on a nutrient-rich diet.

  5. Exercise is also important for patients with Huntington’s disease as it enables them to stay active and fit.

In case you experience any symptom of Huntington’s disease, it is important for you to consult a doctor immediately. This is a severe disease and early diagnosis and treatment will prevent the condition from worsening.

खुजली वाली त्वचा एक आम समस्या है जो कई लोगों को प्रभावित करती है। खुजली एक छोटी सी झुंझलाहट से अधिक हो सकती है। इसके अलावा, खरोंचना हमेशा काम नही आता। न केवल सामाजिक रूप से अजीब हो सकता है, यह वास्तव में खुजली वाली सनसनी को बढ़ा सकता है और यहां तक कि आपकी त्वचा को चोट पहुंचा सकता है। 

संक्रमण, मच्छर के काटने और डंक, उपद्रव, पुरानी बीमारियों, एपोटीक जिल्द की सूजन, छालरोग, एलर्जी प्रतिक्रियाओं, सूरज की आशंका, और शुष्क त्वचा खुजली के सामान्य कारणों में से हैं। 

त्वचा की खुजली के लिए उपाय:

जबकि खरोंच क्षणिक राहत प्रदान करता है, यह चोटों और संक्रमण का कारण भी बन सकता है। ये प्रभावी घरेलू उपचार आपको केवल खुजली वाली त्वचा से राहत नहीं दे सकते हैं, लेकिन अत्यधिक खरोंच के कारण जटिलताओं को भी रोका जा सकता है:
1. बेकिंग सोडा:
बेकिंग सोडा खुजली वाली त्वचा के लिए सबसे आम घरेलु उपाय है। बेकिंग सोडा में शोथ रोधक और एंटी-बैक्टीरिया गुण है और प्राकृतिक एसिड न्यूट्रलरज़र के रूप में खुजली को दूर करने में मदद करता है। ठंडे पानी से भरा बाथ टब में एक कप बेकिंग सोडा जोड़ें, और लगभग आधे घंटे के लिए इस पानी में खुद को भिगोएँ। एक तौलिया के साथ त्वचा को रगड़ने के बजाय खुद को सुखाएँ। यह एक बार दैनिक करें। 
छोटे क्षेत्र के लिए, एक चम्मच पानी के साथ बेकिंग सोडा के तीन चम्मच मिलाकर एक पेस्ट तैयार करें और प्रभावित क्षेत्रों पर पेस्ट को लागू करें। इसे लगभग 10 मिनट तक छोड़ दें।
लेकिन ध्यान रखें, अगर त्वचा टूट गई हो तो इस उपाय का उपयोग न करें।

2. कोलायडीय ओटमील:
इसमें एंटी- इरिटेटिंग, शोथ रोधक और सुखदायक गुण होते हैं जो खुजली से तत्काल राहत प्रदान करते हैं। यह खुजली वाली त्वचा को शांत करने और आराम करने में मदद करता है। कोलाइडयन दलिया के एक से दो कप को गुनगुने पानी से भरे बाथ टब में जोड़ें, और लगभग आधे घंटे के लिए इस पानी में खुद को भिगोएँ। 

3. ठंडा सेक:
ठंडा पानी आपकी खुजली वाली त्वचा पर तुरन्त काम करता है। खुजली वाली त्वचा के लिए ठंडे पानी का उपयोग करने के कई तरीके हैं:
- जब तक आवश्यक हो तब तक प्रभावित त्वचा पर ठंडा नल का पानी चलाएं।
- प्रभावित इलाके के ऊपर, एक कपड़े में लपेटे हुए बर्फ को लगाएँ।
- ठंडे पानी से स्नान करें

4. नींबू:
नींबू का इस्तेमाल प्राचीन काल से त्वचा की समस्याओं का इलाज करने के लिए किया गया है। नींबू में मौजूद एसिटिक एसिड और साइट्रिक एसिड में संवेदनाहारी, विरोधी-परेशान, शोथ रोधक, कसैले, और एंटीसेप्टिक गुण होते हैं। प्रभावित क्षेत्र पर थोड़ा सा नींबू का रस लागू करें और उसे सूखने दें। फिर गुनगुने पानी के साथ धो लें।

5. सेब का सिरका:
सेब के सिरके में एंटीसेप्टिक, एंटी-ईचिंग, एंटिफंगल और जीवाणुरोधी गुण है जो खुजली से छुटकारा पाने में मदद करते हैं। गुनगुने पानी से भरा बाथ टब में 2-3 कप सेब का सिरका जोड़ें, और लगभग आधे घंटे के लिए इस पानी में खुद को भिगोएँ। खुद को सुखाएँ और एक हल्का मॉइस्चराइज़र लागू करें। 
अधिक स्थानीयकृत खुजली का इलाज करने के लिए, रूई की गेंद का उपयोग कर प्रभावित क्षेत्रों पर सेब का सिरका लागू करें। इसे आधे घंटे के लिए छोड़ दें और फिर गुनगुने पानी से धो लें। 

6. एलोवेरा:
एलोवेरा शायद सबसे अच्छा उत्पाद है जो आप त्वचा की जलन को शांत करने के लिए उपयोग कर सकते हैं। एलोवेरा में न केवल शोथ रोधक, जीवाणुरोधी और एंटिफंगल गुण है, बल्कि इसमें विटामिन ई भी शामिल है जो त्वचा को मॉइस्चराइज रखने में मदद करता है। यह त्वचा पर चकत्ते, खुजली वाली त्वचा, सनबर्न त्वचा या मुँहासे से ग्रस्त त्वचा के लिए सही उपाय है।
उपचार के लिए, प्रभावित क्षेत्र पर एलोवेरा जेल लागू करें। इसे 15 मिनट के लिए छोड़ दें और फिर इसे गुनगुने पानी के साथ धो लें।

7. तुलसी:
तुलसी के पत्ते कपूर, यूजेनॉल और थाइमोल के समृद्ध स्रोत हैं, जो सभी शक्तिशाली खुजली विरोधी एजेंट हैं। दो कप उबलते पानी में सूखे तुलसी के पत्तों का एक बड़ा चमचा जोड़ें। कुछ मिनट के लिए पैन को कवर करें। 
मिश्रण को ठंडा होने दें और फिर प्रभावित क्षेत्र पर सूती कपड़े का उपयोग करके इसे लागू करें।

Sit at the dinner table, and you'd find yourself invariably extending your hand to the glass of water on the side of your plate. While you may think it's absolutely necessary to have a glass of water during your meals, the truth is this habit of yours might be damaging your health. Read on to find out how.

1. It Dilutes your Gastric Juices - When the digestive acids (acids responsible for the digestion and breakdown of food as well as for killing infectious agents ingested with food) present in your stomach are diluted with water, they bring about a slowdown in the functioning of your entire digestive system. This slowdown results in food remaining lodged in your stomach for a longer period than normal, thereby causing indigestion.

Additionally, the reaction caused by the dilution of water and stomach acids can give rise to cramps in your tummy.

2. It Reduces the Saliva in your Mouth - The same thing that happens to the acids in your stomach, happens to your saliva as well. Water dilutes the saliva, which stops the breakdown of food in your mouth. Also, your saliva is responsible for stimulating your stomach to release digestive enzymes and prepare itself for the process of digestion. By drinking water with your meals, such signals sent by your saliva to your stomach become much weaker. All these together can make digestion very difficult.

3. It Causes AcidityStudies show that drinking water with your meals not only leads to the dilution of digestive enzymes, but also brings about a reduction in the secretion of digestive enzymes. This causes the undigested food in your stomach to leak into the lower part of your oesophagus (food pipe), causing acidity and heart burn. 

4. It increases insulin Production - Sipping on water in the middle of lunch (or any other meal for that matter) causes a spike in your insulin levels just as glycaemic foods (foods with high starch or sugar content such as honey, potatoes, white bread, rice to name a few) would. When your body is unable to digest food properly, it usually tends to convert the glucose filled part of that food into fat and stores it, reason why your blood sugar levels see an upsurge.

5. It Adds to your Weight - Since drinking water causes an increase in insulin levels in your body (as the food you eat is converted to fat), it can result in the piling of extra weight on your body. This is because a weak digestive system is one of the major causes behind obesity.

Try having your meals with less salt and drink water 30 minutes before each meal to control your thirst when you're eating. This can help you in controlling the negative effects that drinking water with your meals can have on your health.

Hormonal imbalance takes place in pcod which leads to symptoms like hyper-pigmentation. Hence to regulate hormonal balance is important. When a woman suffers from pcos, there is an increased production of male hormones or androgens and a reduced production of the female ones. This leads to irregular menstrual cycles, anovulation (no ovulation), obesity, an increased amount of facial or body hair, ovarian cysts, severe acne, increased amount of pigmentation particularly on the neck, inner thighs and abdomen and skin tags. In Vitro Fertilisation means Fertilisation “ in- glass that is fertilization outside the human body . It was initially developed for fertility in females who had blocked or unfunctional fallopian tubes. At present IVF is recommended to patients who are unable to conceive due to several other causes also.

We try to provide you with the utmost services :

  1. Your initial consultation : It is an initial visit in which you open up with your doctor and know your doctor and the doctor knows you. A detailed history is taken of the couple.

  2. Pretreatment preparation and planning management : This will include a detailed blood workup which will include your hormonal assays , a uterine assessment, semen analysis and other tests if required. We review the whole history and all the tests and then only a definitive management is planned for you.

  3. Start of oral contraceptive pills : You will be put on oral contraceptive pills for a short span of two to four weeks if your cycle needs to be synchronized with that of an egg donor or surrogate . These help the ovaries to be cyst free and help in planning of your cycle.

  4. Ovarian induction : The IVF cycle begins with ovarian stimulation with injectable hormones on a daily basis and serial ultrasound monitoring. A baseline ultrasound is done before starting the stimulation to assess egg production. The hormone levels will also be monitored . Once the follicles reach the optimal size , you are prepared for egg retrieval.

  5. Visits : Prior to egg retrieval three to five visits are done in that IVF cycle.

  6. Egg Maturation : An injection is given 34-36 hrs prior to egg retrieval.

  7. Egg retrieval : It is a procedure done transvaginally under ultrasound guidance under short general anesthesia . You need to be six hrs. fasting prior to the procedure.A long thin needle is passed through the vagina in the ovary and the follicular fluid is aspirated .The follicular fluid is collected in test tubes under strict temperature control and immediately given to the embryologist in the embryology lab. The embryologist searches for the eggs .The eggs are rinsed counted and placed in an incubator . After few hrs , they are fertilized with the sperm either through IVF or through ICSI.

    An anesthesiologist is there to give you pain relief and comfort during the procedure. Chances of injury during egg retrieval is extremely rare .Structures near the ovary such as bladder,bowel or blood vessels could possibly be damaged and may require further surgery. Minimal bleeding from ovaries might occur but the risk of transfusion is extremely rare. Infection during this procedure is also extremely rare. You will be discharged four hrs. after the procedure.

  8. Embryo Assessment : During IVF embryos are assessed for 2-5 days in a temperature controlled incubator. The embryos are assessed and the day of transfer is determined between day 2-day 5 . We call you to update you about the embryos.

  9. Embryo Transfer : Embryo is transferred back in the uterine cavity between day 2-day5 when it becomes multi celled /blastocyst . This requires no anesthesia and the female is happy to see her embryos being implanted in the cavity . We discuss the number of embryos and made and the number to be transferred so that you have the highest probability of success keeping in mind the risk of multiple birth associated with it. For embryo transfer you need to come on a full bladder and the procedure is done via an embryo catheter transferred vaginally under ultrasound guidance.

  10. Pregnancy test : We schedule a pregnancy test 10-15 days after the transfer . If the first test is positive we repeat beta hcg repetitively every 48-72 hrs. and an obstetrical ultrasound is planned two weeks following the pregnancy test when we look for the no. of embryos and fetal cardiac activity.

Was on novelon 21 day pill pack from june. Missed second last pill of june doubled up with the last. Took a gap of 6 days from 2-7th july. Had my withdrawal bleed from 5-8th july. Started new pack from 8th july night had protected intercourse on 9th july afternoon but the condom used thrice. Next had protected intercourse on 14th july. This was the last intercourse. Missed 21st july pill doubled up with 22nd july pill. Had a very light bleeding on 22nd july morning which was stopped as pills were continued. Pill pack ended on 28th july. Had withdrawal bleed with cramps from 1-6th aug. Pregnancy test at 4,5,6,7,8 weeks. All negative. No symptoms except severe gas with slight pain in lower abdomen on the right side. Was not taking the pill from this month. Since my health was not permitting. Do I need to do further hpt or blood test? Why is their a strong severe pain on the right side of lower abdomen accompanied by gas. Feeling a bit bloated from past 1 day. Is their any risk of pregnancy?

Since you had withdrawal bleeding and pregnancy tests were negative you are unlikely to be pregnant now unless you had sex in this August cycle. May be some simple cyst int the right ovary or inflammation of the appendix or amoebic colitis all these things can give right sided lower abdominal pain. Your bloated nests due to the pills you were taking. Please consult your doctor in person for your abdominal pain and get treated.
