Sir I am suffering from fever I am used lot of medicines but no use please solve my problem.
Hi, please go for a detailed blood investigation like cbc, widal test, mp, montaux and routine urine examination and then revert back with the reports. Till then keep recording your temparature. If it is too high, do tepid sponging. Wear loose cotton garments. Drink plenty of fluids. Consume light and easily digestable food. Continue to take tab. Paracetamol 1-1-1 till the fever subsides. Drink only boiled and cooled water.

gum disease can be prevented

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
gum disease can be prevented
Prevention starts with good dental care habits. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss once a day. Flossing reaches the places the toothbrush can’t, about one-third of the tooth surface. Practice good overall health habits. Eating a well balanced diet and quitting smoking improves your overall health and your oral health. A professional cleaning done in the dental office is the only effective way to remove the hardened tarter that leads to gum disease. Also one of the things your dentist looks for during an examination is any sign of gum disease.

Scabies - Reasons Behind It!

MD - Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Patna
Scabies - Reasons Behind It!

Scabies is a skin condition that causes the skin to itch. It is caused by a tiny burrowing mite, which is called Sarcoptes scabei. The presence of the mite in the burrowed areas causes intense itching, especially at night. This a contagious condition, which can quickly spread through physical contact in places like nursing homes, schools, prisons etc. Scabies is easily treatable by applying lotions to the skin that may kill the mite. Yet, one may still experience itching for several weeks.

The eight legged mite that causes the condition is microscopic. The female mite burrows just beneath the skin and makes a tunnel where it deposits eggs. These eggs hatch, mature and spread to the other areas of the skin or to the skin of other people. The body's allergic reaction to the mites, their eggs and wastes causes the itching.

Symptoms
Some of the symptoms of the conditions are severe itching, narrow irregular burrow tracks, which look like blisters or bumps on your skin. The burrow tracks generally appear in the folds of the skin. The common sites of the condition are between the fingers, armpits, around the waist, soles of your feet, knees, shoulder blades etc.

Complications
Some of the complications of the condition are:

  1. Vigorous scratching, which can break your skin and can cause a secondary infection such as impetigo. This superficial skin infection is usually caused by the staphylococci bacteria.
  2. Severe scratching can also lead to damaged and reddened skin, which in severe cases can start to bleed.

Risk factors
Crusted scabies, also known as Norwegian scabies is a severe form of the condition, which affects certain high risk groups, such as:

  1. People with chronic medical conditions, such as HIV/Aids or chronic leukemia
  2. Older people in nursing homes
  3. People who are very ill.

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Constipation In Children - Causes And Management

MD - Paediatrics, DNB (Pediatrics)
Pediatrician, Rourkela
Constipation In Children - Causes And Management

Constipation is a very common problem among toddlers and children. It takes place when the child's stool is dry, hard and unusually large, and the frequency of bowel movement is low and inconsistent. Although it is not a serious cause for concern, constipation in children should be recognised and treated early so that it does not develop into a chronic long-term ailment.

Constipation in children is seldom directly caused by any disease or medical disorder, which is known as idiopathic constipation and may be cause by a number of factors:

1. Diet: This is the primary cause of constipation in children. If the child's diet has low water and fibre content and heavily features sugar and processed foods, stool becomes hard and bowel movement gets restricted.

2. Deliberate Withholding: Often children may consciously avoid visiting the toilet, which may make them feel constipated. This may be due to embarrassment, especially in public spaces or they might be too engaged in playing to not go to the toilet, altogether. Some children do it out of fear when a previous toilet experience has been particularly painful.

3. Lack of Physical Activity: The digestive system is boosted through regular exercise. Lack of physical activity, thus, inhibits regular bowel movement.

4. Illness and Medication: Infections and illnesses, especially ones pertaining to the stomach cause the child to become constipated. Many medicines and supplements also affect the digestive system and can lead to constipation.

What are the ways to manage constipation in children?

Constipation in children is treated differently than in adults as their diets and patterns of bowel movement are dissimilar.

The primary treatments for constipation in children are:

1. Stool Softeners and Laxatives

The administration of bowel movement enhancing medication is the simplest way of treating constipation in children. There are various kinds of stool softeners and laxatives that are safe for children and must always be used under the supervision of a paediatrician.

2. Dietary Adjustment

Making changes to the child's diet by including high fibre foods (such as fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads, cereals, etc.) can help cure constipation. Compelling the child to intake ample fluids in the form of water or milk is also necessary. Sugary drinks must be avoided. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Pediatrician.

Hi My son 14+ age class-x can' t study absolutely except math mobile Tv addicted. what should I do?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
I don' t fully understand your problem but let me see what I have understood and answer accordingly. He is going through his adolescence. He is expected to have problems with concentration, will get distracted very easily, will be very suggestive to his peers only and will love the entertainment media, if it has to do with adult, forbidden things, in particular. You need to treat him like a friend, sometimes like a child when he wants it so, and many times like an adult. He is obviously confused about these roles and so will you be? he is confused transcending from childhood to adulthood. Most times, we parents, still treating them like? our? little children, tend to come down harsh on them with heavy disciplining etc. This will not work and may only invite rebellion and aggression. You must ally with him; make him feel that you understand his thinking, needs and values. In a very subtle and gradual manner you can succeed to push in a few of your concerns and tell him in a palatable manner what is the best things you would like him to do? but make it feel like it is his idea. You need to be very careful, because some of them can rebel by doing some drastic thing (to themselves or to others) just to spite you. Keep in constant communication with your teen. In some things you can restrict the use of tv and mobile phone, subject to some compliance to study time or work responsibility in the house etc. But again be careful how you go about it. All of you must be on the same page when dealing with him. Any discord between you and your wife, he will exploit it or use it to play games. Remember it is his life and he is at a very critical juncture. You don? t want to do something that might have a permanent negative bearing on his life. In all this never, ever let him feel, even remotely, rejected.

Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone.

Hi I am 24 years old. I usually do masturbate from last 10 years. Now I hav gf. 2 months before I try to sex with her...
Since you were able to masturbate your problem appears to be due to stress / anxiety, so relax and do exercise. However to exclude other cause you need to do some blood tests like sugar and hormones. Stop smoking if you smoke. Check bp. If you are taking any medicine or nutritional supplement on regular basis then it may be due to side effect of that.
