I want to know if I'm suffering from depression. I'm in a relationship. Everyone around me thinks my boyfriend loves me very much. I too sometimes feel the same. But not always. I expect him to care for me more, but he doesn't have time for me. I need him, but he is not always there for me. I'm very short tempered, and I think he thinks I'm a burden to him. I don't feel like eating. I don't socialize much. Can't share my feelings with anyone. I love him so much. I'm suffering like anything. I need some help.

Hi lybrate-user, It does not sound like you are suffering from depression. However, it is important that you realize the root cause of why you are feeling so low. You are looking at yourself from the eyes of your boyfriend, others. Your life is not just about being someone's girlfriend. There is a whole new person existing inside you apart from your relationship which you need to discover. I suggest you go for regular Counseling to share your life freely and learn to develop your confidence and strengths. Take care.

Fallopian Tube Blockage - 7 Causes

Speciality Birthing Care
Gynaecologist, Bangalore
Fallopian Tube Blockage - 7 Causes

It's said that blocked fallopian tube is the most common cause of female infertility in about 40% women. Fallopian tubes are channels through which the egg travels to reach the uterus and blockage of these tubes can put a stop to this from taking place. Depending on the different parts of the tubes, this form of blockage is of several types.

What are the different types of fallopian tube blockages?

  1. Proximal tubal occlusion: This form of fallopian tube blockage involves the isthmus (an area of about 2 cm long, this part of the fallopian tube connects the infundibulum and ampulla to the uterus). This problem occurs due to complications associated with abortion, cesarean section or PID (pelvic inflammatory disease).
  2. Mid-segment tubal obstruction: It occurs in the ampullary section of the fallopian tube and is most frequently a result of tubal ligation damage. The procedure of tubal ligation is performed to put a stop to pregnancy permanently.
  3. Distal tubal occlusion: This is a kind of blockage wherein the section of the fallopian tube that is close to the ovary is affected and is commonly associated with a condition known as hydrosalpinx (a condition in which the fallopian tube is filled with fluid). The latter often happens due to Chlamydia infection, leading to fallopian tube and pelvic adhesions.

The conditions that may give rise to this problem can include:

  1. Genital tuberculosis (the TB infection that occurs in the genital tract)
  2. Ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy in which the embryo places itself outside the uterus)
  3. Tubal ligation removal
  4. Complications related to surgery of the lower abdomen
  5. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
  6. Uterine fibroids (benign growths that occur in the uterus)
  7. Endometriosis (development of uterine tissue outside of the organ)

These disorders can lead to the development of scar tissue, adhesions, polyps or tumors to form inside the pathway. Additionally, the tubes can also get stuck to other body parts such as ovaries, bladder, uterus and bowels. Two things can happen to the fallopian tubes, either they can become twisted or the tubes walls may stick together, leading to a complete blockage. Moreover, even if the fallopian tubes are partially damaged, they can remain open so as to enable pregnancy to occur, while increasing your risk for ectopic pregnancy. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

Work out. Diet burning more calories than consuming results into weight loss. But it is not as simple as it sounds. You need to make your own diet plan, with 25% less calories than normal. Make a work out routine and include cardio. Take protein instead of carbs. You can loose 1 to 4 inches in a month depending on your body type. Weight takes more time to go down but you should not loose more than 3 kgs in one month. Generally people are able to loose only one kilo if they do not do any crash diet or hire a gym trainer, which is actually better.

Hi lybrate-user. Usually in first trimester traveling is not safe. Second if you are not sure about pregnancy then do a home urine pregnancy test to confirm. If it is positive then Consult immediately to a gynecologist for USG abdomen to find out that everything is normal. Especially to diagnose ectopic pregnancy early. Never postpone Consultation in any case.

Uncontrolled hair fall since 4 months and I lost my weigh 5 kg in last 2 month. And hair fall is at one spot on head and it increases the spots.

Uncontrolled hair fall since 4 months and I lost my weigh 5 kg in last 2 month. And hair fall is at one spot on head ...
Hi. Let me you about hairfall. As per me, hairfall are of 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent which is called 'Hairloss' rather and leads to bald areas of smooth and shiny surface. In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up which subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or hairloss- hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger any other underlying diseases, etc. Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smooking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga/ gym teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! In your case, sudden loss of weight has lead to lack of nutrition. Also, take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200/ twice a day for 1 month and revert me back. Apart from this, take a multivitamin - Supradyn or Centrum/ 1 tab. daily/ once a day for 3 months.
