How to remove the black marks on my face? I want some permanent treatment. It would be better if it is fast treatment.
Hi. You haven't mentioned about the type of marks you do have. If those are acne marks, then follow the below points: Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 20 days. Use Bakson's Apricot scrub at least once a week.

Hello doctor. How to reduce the melanin production? Please suggest me some best way which is safe.
Mix sandalwood powder with rose water then apply it to the areas that are dark with melanin. By applying this mixture daily, you can cool down your skin. Since melanin production increases with heat, lowering your skin's temperature reduces this process, giving you fairer skin.

My name gavu my father scene very dry and black. And face are normal but white dots. Pls halo us.
White spots on body can be due to various reasons. It can b hereditary or due to use of some chemical agents, drugs, medication, trauma, contact with allergic agents, autoimmune diseases, age to name a few. It's very important to take care not to injure oneself or that can leave marks. Drink milk and plenty of dairy products to replenish calcium needed for tyrosinase. Include cabbage, broccoli, brussels, kale in daily diet. Have vitamin and mineral supplements. Have spinach and jaggery, iron in it vil enhance melanin forming pathway. Stay away from hairdyes, dryers, spas, bleaches and hot irons. You can use brown natural henna to cover your greys. Any suspicious chemical agent such as creams, sprays, deodorants should be avoided. It's imperative to be relaxed or such a condition can worsen. Don't b anxious about anything for everyone faces anxieties and only the relaxed can get above. Diet rich in vitamin c and phytonutrients like anthocyanin namely lemon, orange, gooseberry vil scavenge the free radicals which damage the cells and produce white spots and patchs. If you have autoimmune diseases like pernicious anaemia, thyroiditis, alopecia areata, vitiligo, inflammatory bowel disease, it has to be evaluated and treated and it vil definitely respond to treatment too. So, follow the above measures.

1. Apply a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar directly on the scar. 2. Gently massage the area so that the apple cider vinegar can be absorbed fully by the scar. 3. Allow the apple cider vinegar to dry up on its own. 4. Once you are sure that it is dry, repeat the process. 5. This can be done several times. Results can be seen after about a month of doing this process every day.

Wearing tight clothes in itself is a reason for fungal infection causing redness, rashes, itching etc. This is because of sweating in your thigh area. You should wear loose cotton clothes. Unhealthy food habits are also reason for it, so you should avoid eating junk foods and outside food. Eat lots of green vegetables, salads, fruits which detoxify your blood. Drink lot of water. Take bath twice a day. Keep yourself clean. You can use niforce soap. Use abzorb powder on the affected area more frequently to keep the area dry. Excellent ayurvedic medicines are available to treat fungal infection and to prevent reccurences. For now start. Vidangatishta 2spoons twice orally with equal quantity of warm water. Neem capsule 2-2 for 6 months avoid eating non vegetarian food for few days. Stop spicy oily n sour food.

Hello. Start immediately with homoeopathic medication - Sulphur 200/ one dose daily in the morning for a week and 10 drops of Arnica Montana Q in 1/2 cup of water and apply on the face on the beard and the mustache area with a cotton swab. Then use the razor. Repeat the above process every 3rd day for few months. There are certain nutrients that you can add to your daily routine that can help encourage faster, more effective hair growth. Promote thicker hair with folic acid. This is necessary for the growth and repair of hair, take Follihair/ 1 tablet daily for 3 months. You can also try increasing the amount of folic acid in your diet. Folic acid can be found in whole-grain breads and cereals, leafy green vegetables, peas, and nuts. Increase your biotin intake. Biotin is an important water-soluble B vitamin, necessary for the the formation of fatty acids and glucose, as well as for metabolizing amino acids and carbohydrates. A biotin deficiency can lead to hair loss, so making sure you are getting the recommended amount is well worth the effort. Biotin is found in liver, oysters, cauliflower, beans, fish, carrots, bananas, soy flour, egg yolks, cereals, yeast, and other foods. Management: -Exfoliate your face. Hair follicles can become blocked with dirt and prevent your hair from growing. Once a week, wear an exfoliant mask with eucalyptus. It's great for your skin, and can help promote hair growth. -Massage your hair follicles. A gentle massage can help stimulate your hair follicles. Use your finger tips, and gently massage your face in circular motions for about two to three minutes. Try applying a facial moisturizer to create a smoother massage. -Take in vitamin A. This vitamin stimulates the production of sebum, which keeps your hair follicles and skin hydrated. You can find vitamin A in eggs, meat, cheese, liver, carrots, pumpkin, broccoli, and dark green leafy vegetables. -Get plenty of vitamin E, which has long been recognized as key for healthy skin, and can increase blood flow, which leads to an optimal environment for hair growth. Foods rich in vitamin E include oils, leafy vegetables, nuts, and beans, and most people get plenty of vitamin E when eating a normal diet. -Boost circulation with vitamin B3. Healthy circulation may have a positive effect on hair growth. Reports find that B3 is even more effective when taken with biotin. -Take in vitamin B5. This is also known as pantothenic acid. It not only helps the body use fats and proteins, necessary for healthy hair, it also has been reported to help reduce stress; and stress can definitely inhibit hair growth. Vitamin B5 occurs naturally in brewer's yeast, broccoli, avocado, egg yolks, organ meats, duck, milk, lobster, whole-grain breads, and more. For open pores: Hello, Open pores can be the result of lack of proper cleansing resulting in the deposit of oil, dirt or even dead skin in your pores. It is extremely important that you follow the ritual of a face clean at least once a week which includes a massage with a cream, exfoliation for the removal of dead skin cells and a face pack to close the pores opened while the process of exfoliation. This basic routine makes sure that your skin is always prepped up, cleansed and clear of impurities. - Lemons are one of the most widely used herbal remedy to shrink the open pores as they naturally tighten the skin and brighten it too. -Fruits like Papaya are best known for their exfoliation properties. Using a papaya for cleaning the face not only scrubs away all the impurities but also helps in removing black heads and other impurities of the skin. -Egg whites work as natural dryers of the skin and thus they greatly help in shrinking the pores and helping with the problem of open pores. -Another way of dealing with the problem of open pores is yoghurt. -Fuller’s earth is an excellent medium to control excessive oil and cleansing the skin gently and deeply. -Natural Astringent: there are several other natural astringents which can be used on the skin for the treatment of open pores like peach, pineapple, orange, strawberries and other citrus fruits.

Your skin (or parts thereof) feels like it is burning and/or itching even though there isn’t any visible reason for it to be burning and/or itching, such as burn marks or dry, cracked, flaky, or broken skin. This burning itching skin sensation can be mildly noticeable, moderately bothersome, or severely problematic. The skin can be burning so much that it feels like a major sunburn even though you haven’t been in the sun. And sometimes you can scratch and scratch, even to the point of injuring the skin, yet your skin is still itching and/or very itchy. Generally, this burning and itching skin feeling doesn’t have any visible reason for it to feel that way. It appears the skin is itching and burning for no apparent reason. This burning itching skin sensation can occur anywhere on the body, such as the hands, face, feet, back, neck, lips, and scalp, to name a few. This burning itching skin sensation can come and go rarely, occur frequently, or persist indefinitely. For example, you may have severe skin burning and itching once and a while and not that often, feel it off and on, or feel the burning and itching all the time. This burning itching skin sensation may precede, accompany, or follow an escalation of other anxiety sensations and symptoms, or occur by itself. This burning itching skin sensation can precede, accompany, or follow an episode of nervousness, anxiety, fear, and elevated stress, or occur ‘out of the blue’ and for no apparent reason. This burning itching skin sensation can range in intensity from slight, to moderate, to severe. It can also come in waves, where it’s strong one moment and eases off the next. This burning itching skin sensation can change from day to day, and/or from moment to moment. All of the above combinations and variations are common. What causes the burning itching skin anxiety symptom? There can be many causes for burning itching skin. It’s best to discuss this symptom with your doctor to rule out all other causes. NOTE: Allergic reactions and adverse reactions to medications are also common causes of burning and itching skin sensations. Be sure to discuss this symptom with your doctor to rule out those potential causes. If your burning and itching skin sensation has been attributed to anxiety and stress, behaving apprehensively (worrying, fretting, being anxious) causes the body to activate the stress response, which brings about specific physiological, psychological, and emotional changes in the body to enhance the body’s ability to deal with a threat—to either fight with or flee from it. Due to the nature of these changes, the stress response is often referred to as the fight or flight response. Due to the extent of changes the stress response brings about, stress responses stress the body, and especially the nervous system. The nervous system is responsible for sending and receiving sensory information to and from the brain, including sending and receiving sensory information from the nerve endings in the skin. When the body isn’t overly stressed, the nervous system and sensory organs perform normally. But when the body becomes overly stressed from too frequent and/or dramatic stress responses (which we call stress-response hyperstimulation), the body, nervous system, and sensory organs can ‘misbehave’ and cause a wide range of nervous system and sensory symptoms, such as exhibiting a burning and itching skin sensation. Because anxiety and stress caused burning and itching skin sensations are only related to elevated stress and not some other medical condition, they aren’t harmful. Therefore, this burning and itching feeling isn’t a reason for concern.

Do We Really Need Sunscreen?

MD (AIIMS), Clinical Fellow,Skin Oncology(New England Medical Centre & Boston University,USA), Clinical Fellow.Photomedicine(Mass.Gen.Hospital,Harvard Medical School,USA), Clinical Fellow,Laser Surgery(Mass.Gen Hospital,Harvard Medical School,USA)
Dermatologist, Kolkata
Do We Really Need Sunscreen?

Sunscreen manufacturers bombard you daily with their mega-budget advertising campaigns. Fair-skinned models urge you to get into the habit of using sunscreens everyday. While it is true that white-skinned Caucasian individuals have a need to protect their sensitive skins with sunscreens, do we, as darker-skinned individuals, really need to copy this same habit? Here are some scientific reasons why sunscreens are less important for most Indians and why, medically speaking, black is beautiful.

  • Nature has already installed an “inbuilt umbrella” within your skin. This is the pigment melanin which gives your skin its darker colour. Just like photochromic glasses, which automatically become dark with sun exposure, melanin along with other factors, becomes activated and darker with sun exposure. This natural tanning is your “inbuilt umbrella” which protects the lower layers of your skin.

  • On the beach, compared to your white-skinned friends, you are much less likely to experience a severe, blistering or beet-red burn reaction with sun exposure.

  • You are much less likely to have prominent wrinkles, freckles, broken blood vessels, and pre-cancerous bumps called actinic keratosis. Thank your “inbuilt umbrella” for this.

  • You are much less prone to skin cancers, since your skin does not allow harmful sun-radiation to penetrate to the lower layers of your skin. However, please do not ignore any suspicious looking bump or mole on your skin. Get it examined IMMEDIATELY by your local dermatologist.

  • You are probably deficient in Vitamin D. Unlike your white-skinned friends from colder countries, who actively seek the sun, you probably avoid sunlight and do not indulge in sun-bathing or sun-tanning. Some amount of mild early morning or evening sun-exposure is essential, not just for production of this bone forming vitamin but also for other medical reasons.

  • You are most likely sweating in the hot and muggy Indian climate. Application of any cream in such conditions would be not only be uncomfortable, but chances are that your expensive sunscreen is going to be washed or wiped off.

  • However, if you still insist on trying to avoid even a wee bit of  tan, then use sunscreens as per international recommendations. Don't rely just on SPF numbers, but use a  broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen.  Apply about 30 ml every 2 hours on sun exposed areas. Do not forget to apply over the top of the feet, exposed legs, forearms, backup of the hands, back of the neck, nose and over the ears. This amount might pinch your pocket considerably. Consider using sun-protective, full-sleeved clothing if you really need to step out in the strong sunlight.

Don't expect to become more fairer than your baseline skin colour. Understand that you are darker for evolutionary reasons. Be thankful that you have some amount of inbuilt sun-protection bestowed to you by nature.
