Hi I have 2, 3 ulcers (chala) in my mouth for 1 week I am taking one becosules capsule daily in the morning but it is not getting reduced I am drinking lot of water, lassi, etc etc Still ulcer is getting big What should I do? Should I take 2 capsules or anything else?

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hi lybrate-user, a mouth ulcer is a painful sore inside the mouth, on the tongue, soft palate (the back portion of the roof of your mouth), or inside the cheeks. Sores in your mouth are round, white, or grey in color, with a red edge or border. The condition is usually becomes okay within 7 days. But if it persists beyond that, or if multiple ulcers keep re-appearing, medical advice must be taken. In severe mouth ulcer attacks, you may also experience fever and physical sluggishness. Taking vitamin b12 supplements along with a suitable gel for pain is the best remedy. Take care.

I have geographic tongue and fissures which makes me uncomfortable for past 6 years. Is there any remedy to that. Even tired zinc and vitamin tables. No use.

BDS, Master of Hospital Administration
Dentist, Patna
Geographic tongue and fissured tongue are two different conditions of tongue, but both of them are almost asymptomatic. So, there is no pain or discomfort in these conditions. If you are having any discomfort please visit a Dentist for some topical ointments or gels. But the conditions are asymptomatic. No need to worry.

My dentine, enamel over my front teeth is scrapped off. What should I do? Is that recoverable by polishing or something equivalent of that?

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Lybrate-user, if you have lost enamel and dentine of your front teeth because of any reason then you can get tooth colored fillings done with the same. Polishing will never help you get back your original tooth material.

The days we give less than the required care on oral hygiene, the first teeth to suffer are the wisdom teeth owing to their location in mouth. So keep it in your mind when putting the the toothpaste on brush.

I have dental bridge of two teeth in my upper front jaw. Colour of it looks different from rest of the teeth. Colour of bridge is brighter than other teeth. What should I do for matching colour of it.

Master of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Dental surgery
Dentist, Bhopal
Unfortunately once the bridge is in place you cannot change its shade much. You may have to get a new bridge done.

Sir/Madam Due to regular use tobacco. My teeth looking bad like a bad black dots in my some teeth. Pls suggest any medicine or cream for cleablac purpose please.

BDS
Dentist, Mohali
You need complete scaling (professional cleaning) and polishing of your teeth. Get it done by a dentist. If there are caries (decay) in your teeth then those have to be filled by cosmetic fillings. Brush your teeth twice daily in vertical motion. Avoid doing it horizontally. Use a soft bristle toothbrush. Be gentle to your teeth while brushing.

Its a gum infection so your bleeding can be reduced by scaling and if not reduced than you need to go for curettage procedure where your dentist will explain u.

Hie doctor I'm 23 years old. One of my teeth is getting loose (down side 3rd one from middle side}. I don't want to replace nor I want keep cap r something. So how shud it get stronger n healthier naturally.

BDS, FICOI, Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE)
Dentist, Bangalore
If you don't replace then adjacent teeth and opposite teeth will loosen and finally it will fall as age progress, So my suggestion is to replace your missing teeth as soon as possible, I think you may also require cleaning, kindly consult near by dentist soon, make sure you clean your tongue while brushing, brush twice a day, consume water frequently, include fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet, rinse your moth with water each and every time after you eat.

When to Remove Wisdom Teeth?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
When to Remove Wisdom Teeth?

People between the ages of 16 and 19 should have their wisdom teeth evaluated. If they need to be removed, it should be considered before age 20 when generally fewer complications occur. At a younger age, tooth roots are not fully developed, the surrounding bone is softer, and there is less chance of damaging nearby nerves or other structures. There is also less surgical risk and healing is generally faster.

Extractions of wisdom teeth may be performed by a general dentist. If your dentist anticipates any special care will be needed, he or she may refer you to an oral or maxillofacial surgeon. An oral or maxillofacial surgeon is a dentist who specializes in surgery and the removal of wisdom teeth.

Hello, bleeding gums could be because of deposits on teeth surface or food lodged in between teeth. Visit a dentist and get your scaling and polishing done. Brush your teeth twice daily. Night brushing is very important. Floss regularly. Rinse after every meal. Visit dentist every 6 months.

This is PMT. (Premenstrual Tension) It's quite common complaint from young girls. Don't worry. Drink plenty of water, reduce salt if taking excessively, practise some yoga or similar exercise, eat a balanced diet and sleep well and before 10 pm. You should be alright in 2-3 months. Otherwise see your family physician.

Using an appropriate toothpaste is very necessary for the health of our teeth. Toothpastes which contain fluoride help in keeping the teeth healthy by reducing the risk of tooth decay.
