My husband is 37 years old has uric acid 8 he takes medicine and becomes low when stops will increase now the problem is, he has got itching on the ball is this due to uric acid Or can you suggest me a medicine or remedy to get rid.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Increased uric acid can some times cause joint pains, however, itching on the skin is not likely due to increased uric acid. It may be due to fungal infection. So some antifungal drug treatment is required.

My face skin is dry and it gets itching sometimes and its very rough. And it looks too much dry .its not looking healthy please tell how to keep it healthy.

General Physician, Faridabad
Yes the world famous cucumber mask, we can't have a dry skin treatment list without this one. The cucumber contains a lot of water as you probably know and is therefore used to moisturize the skin. You can either put slices on the dry skin or grate the cucumber and apply this to the skin. Leave it for 30 minutes Apple mask Apples do more or less the same than cucumbers but with the added bonus of cleaning and feeding your skin with healthy ingredients. It moisturizes the skin and makes it look shinier Grate one apple or as much as you need and apply it on the dry skin. Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash it off using lukewarm water.

I am not able to sleep in night properly and not able to concentrate in work and study. Can you please suggest how to overcome my bad feelings and concentrate.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Sleep deprivation will cause a lot of problems with concentration and memory. So get enough sleep and many of yoru problems will disappear. In the meantime please the following to improve memory. Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid junk food.

Premature ejaculation
What causes ejaculation problems?

Ejaculation problems are complex and can be caused by a number of things, including:

Relationship problems
Anxiety ? such as a man being anxious that he will lose his erection (erectile dysfunction), causing him to ?rush? the intercourse
Previous traumatic sexual experiences
Some medical conditions or medicines ? for example, diabetes can cause delayed ejaculation

Some researchers think certain men are more prone to premature ejaculation because of their biological make-up, such as having an unusually sensitive penis.

Retrograde ejaculation is caused by damage to nerves or muscles that surround the neck of the bladder (the point where the urethra connects to the bladder). This damage can often occur as a complication of prostate or bladder surgery.

Premature ejaculation is the most common ejaculation problem. It is where the male ejaculates too quickly during sexual intercourse.

Many men are unsure about how long ?normal? sex should last before ejaculation. A study looking at 500 couples from five different countries found the average time between a man putting his penis into his partner?s vagina and ejaculation was around five-and-a-half minutes.

However, it's up to the individual and his partner to decide whether or not they're happy with the time it takes for him to ejaculate. There is no definition of how long intercourse should last.

Occasional episodes of premature ejaculation are common and not a cause for concern. However, if you're finding that around half of your attempts to have intercourse result in premature ejaculation, it might help to get treatment.

Most men with this problem won't have always had it ? they'll have previously ejaculated normally. This may be referred to as 'secondary' premature ejaculation.

It's less common for the man to have always experienced premature ejaculation (since becoming sexually active) ? this is known as 'primary' or lifelong premature ejaculation. It affects around one in 50 men in England. In most cases of lifelong premature ejaculation:

There is an inability to delay ejaculation during sex every time or most times
The condition causes feelings of shame or frustration and impacts on quality of life, causing the man to avoid sexual intimacy

Delayed ejaculation

Delayed ejaculation (male orgasmic disorder) is classed as either:

Experiencing a significant delay before ejaculation is possible
Being unable to ejaculate at all even though the male wants to and his erection is normal

There is no set definition to describe ?how long is too long?, but a persistent (and unwanted) delay of ejaculation that lasts for 30 to 60 minutes may suggest delayed ejaculation.

Alternatively, if you are unable to achieve ejaculation at least half the times you have sex, you may have delayed ejaculation.

As with premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation can be either acquired or lifelong. Lifelong delayed ejaculation is less common and affects an estimated one in 1,000 men.

Delayed ejaculation can occur in all sexual situations, or just in certain situations ? for example, you may be able to ejaculate normally when masturbating, but not during sex. When delayed ejaculation only happens in certain situations, there's usually a psychological cause.

Hi my uncle sugar fasting level is 180, and some stomach problem four times in a day he go for loo. Can you please tel me which doctor I have to consult him.

General Physician, Noida
He is definitely diabetic. He has insulin -independent diabetes which means that he is still producing his endogenous insulin but at a slower speed, and thisefore can be controlled by diet management + oral antihypoglycaemic medicines and insulin thisapy is not required. He has high fasting sugar but pp is not done. So, get Post-prandial sugar test done or better get GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test) done that will give full idea of his Blood Sugar levels. Also get A1C test done which gives an idea of average blood sugar level over last 3 months. Diabetes cannot be cured till date in any thisapy, allopathy, homeopathy or aurvedic so far. If anyone claims to cure it, he is just be-fooling you and actually selling hopes to you, not cure. In near future cure may be possible by stem cell theory or immunological manipulations. Research is going on in these fields but is at very nascent stage at this time and no approved technology exists till date. Insulin pumps and implants may give long term relief and may approximate short term cure. He can manage his diabetes by diet control, exercises and life-style changes but in spite of that, if the sugar remains high, he would require oral antidiabetic medicines for that you need to consult your nearest or family doctor. Your uncle's sugar is not normal. How bad is it, can be accessed by A1C test.

Your psa levels are in doubtful range. Medicines are required only if difficulty in urination is there. Cancer has be ruled out. Physical examination is essential for this. Prostate biobsy may be required if clinical suspicion of cancer.

Constipation is easily manageable through a prescribed diet. I will prescribe a high fiber diet customized to your case. Do avoid over-the-counter laxatives. Increasing exercise is also important if you lead a sedentary lifestyle. For stubborn constipation in I may recommend a non-digestible sugar called lactulose or specially formulated electrolyte solutions. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . hello lybrate user, pain in sole and heels is probably due to plantar fascitis, it is inflammatory swelling of plantar fascia (flat ligament which connect the heel bone to the toes, and supports the arch of feet) which ultimately causes pain, especially while standing and walking. it occurs due to weakening of ligament tissue due to over straining, using uncomfortable forware, heely sandals etc; take homeopathic treatment for pain in soles. it's safe, natural and holistic way of treatment. natural homeopathic remedies strikes at the root of problem to ensure complete relief. In chronic cases, medicine is selected on the basis of thorough details of patient like medical history, causes, temperament etc..; such well selected remedy gives complete cure without side effects. message back for proper homeopathic consultation.
