What are the main reason of zero sperm count. Is it possible to enhance the count? Please specify the effective methods to increase the count, if it is possible.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Nagpur
Zero sperm count or medically known as" azoospermia" is a condition wherein practically no sperms are seen in the ejaculate or semen. This could be due to 2 main reasons, either there is" no production of sperms in testis" or" sperms from testes do not reach the secretions that form the semen" the treatment for" zero sperm count" also is decided according to the cause of azoopspermia. Hence it is advisable that you visit a infertility expert personally, get examined and investigated in details and then go for any treatment.

I'm 38 yrs old suffering burning/pain problem in stomach for 1 month, what should I do?

MBBS
General Physician,
This burning problem of yours is acidity. Don't keep the stomach empty for longer duration. Hydrochloric secreted in the empty stomach causes irritation. Have cd milk intermittently acid gets neutralised by milk so you should have plenty of milk daily with regular interval ok? sometimes you can have some antacid tab like gelusil or omeprazole. If still persist consult a gastro-enterologist nearby.

I'm 18 years old and suffering from pcos since 4 years . I ws on medications but it didn't work out. It only showed temporary results. So I thought to give a try to natural remedies. While searching I got to know apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, licorice , flaxseed, fenugreek and other stuffs. And avoid dairy and soy products. So I want to know whether these things are really beneficial for curing pcos and hairfall caused due to it? Also can you please list out what should I eat and avoid. And should I consider these remedies? Can you suggest what test should I do to check hormone level.

Hello, lybrate-user, foods that you have mentioned, are all healthy and nutritious foods items. You may add them in your diet, but you have to know how and how much. And this brings you to the point where you wanted to know what you can eat and avoid. To suppress pcos you need to maintain your body weight. And to do that you need a customized diet chart that will prescribe you what to eat, how and how much, according to your height, weight, body functions and physical activity. Hence I would like to recommend you to consult with a dietician personally or online. And as per the tests you can do prolactin test.

Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S)
Sexologist, Chennai
How do smoking and using alcohol and drugs affect sexual health?

We all know that tobacco contributes to lung and heart disease, but many people don’t realize that it seriously affects sexual health as well. Smoking damages the arteries affecting blood flow to the genitals, and it leads to a loss of desire and arousal in both men and women. In terms of alcohol consumption, most of us know that having a drink or two before sex may help us relax and ease our inhibitions. But high levels of consumption can also result in sexual dysfunction. From causing the loss of erections to preventing your ability to get or stay aroused, alcohol disables the natural sexual response of the autonomic nervous system. Other chemical substances, like marijuana and cocaine, also have known links to low sex drive and sexual dysfunction.

My son who is 45 days old demands for breast milk more often. Sometimes in 1 hr interval and continues to drink for about 20 to 30 min. Will this overfeed my baby? Does this result in digestive problems?

Diploma in Child Health (DCH), MBBS

Give him as much as he wants. This is called demand feeding but don't forget to burp him after every feed. No, he will not have any digestive problems if you burp him after every feed.

These medicines have nothing to do with your low Hb levels. Therefore continue with them as advised by your Physician. I would advice you to take iron supplements to increase your iron levels. Also take food like fish, chicken and green leafy vegetables, bananas that are rich sources of iron.
