Hello Dr. I am suffering from pruritus ani. It's from 2 months please tell me some solution to get rid of this problem.

Erasmus Mundus Master in Adapted Physical Activity, MPT, BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Chennai
Pruritus ani is the irritation of the skin at the exit of the rectum, known as the anus, causing the desire to scratch. The intensity of anal itching increases from moisture, pressure, and rubbing caused by clothing and sitting. Add some oatmeal to your bath water. Oatmeal has naturally soothing qualities that help soften and heal irritated and itchy skin. Promote tissue healing with Aloe Vera. Keep the anal area clean. Keep the anal area dry. Eat plenty of fiber. Wash undergarments with a mild soap.

I had ayurvedic medicine my doctor told that my kidney stone Is gone but I feel like something stuck in my urine nerve Please suggest some home remedy.

Dear lybrate user, a kidney stone is mainly formed due to the accumulation of the minerals present in urine. Such accumulation occurs mainly due to low intake of fluids. Continuous low fluid intake results in the deposits of the minerals over the stone & eventually leads to an increase in the size of the stone. Formation of stone leads to pain along the kidney region. If the size of the kidney stone is below 3mm then it is possible to get rid of it without any surgery. Take homoeopathic mother tincture berberis vulgaris q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water for 15 days. The stone will be expelled through urine in between the span of 15 days of medication. But if the size of the stone is more than 3mm then you should surely go for surgery.

For back pain I was prescribed Painkillers 10 days back. After that I a, m getting semisolid stools, nearly 3 times a day. The stolls are not loose, only semi solid. Now I am having severe itchiness in the area around the anus. I am fat and my hands I cannot reach there to scratch too. What could be the line of treatment in this issue. I want immediate relief as the itchiness keeps me very disturbed constantly.

If there is no bleeding then nothing to worry. Infact you should avoid scratching. Keeep the area clean and dry and apply any dusting powder. Keep diabetes well controlled. Avoid scratching because once you scratch then itching never goes.

Hello Ravi , Your symptoms indicate urinary tract infection as you have not mentioned any uneasiness or pain in the region of kidneys. Get a urine routine test done for proper diagnosis and treatment. Drink plenty of water and barley water can also be consumed. Revert back after reports are available. Regards, Dr. Heena

MS - General Surgery, MCh Urology

Hi doctor. When I am having supradyn tablets at breakfast then my urine become lite yellowish. What should I do?
Mr. lybrate-user The yellowish discoloration of the urine is due to the B-Complex vitamins that are present in the medication that you are using. Do not worry as it is not a alarming situation. Once you stop using the medication, the discoloration will settle down. Hope this helps Thanks.

I am 29 yr male, having kidney cysts. Please help me control the growth of cysts.

PGDHHM, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
I would suggest you to get your ultrasound done to see whether it is polycyclic or 1-2 cysts. Do you have any other problem eg diabetes, hypertension, urinary complaints. Get your cbc, urine routine, blood sugar fasting and pp, kft, sr electrolytes done and then consult a nephrologist for further management.
