I have a red eye from three days and I don't get sleep from that pain. What can I do for that?
Eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye (sclera) become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: • Eye dryness • Too much sun exposure • Dust or other particles in the eye • Allergies • Infection • Injury Homoeopathic medicine EUPHRASIA 30 ( Dr Reckeweg) Drink 2 drops direct on tongue every 2-3 hrly CINERARIA /EUPHRASIA EYEDROPS ( SBL ) pour into eyes 1-2 drops 3 times daily

Yes your eye number changes as your body grows but usually stabilizes by the age of 18-20. So dont worry. Just wear glasses or contact lens and have annual eye checkup.

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens as your age is now 15 years so your number will increase now whether you wear glasses or not till age of 18-20 years as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik after age of 18 yrs.

Hello, get your eyes tested from an opthalmologist. Include the following for getting better vision: vitamins a, c, e, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. Dha is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for strengthening eye muscles: -begin by partially closing your eyes; the lids should only be halfway shut. After holding for 10-15 seconds, close your eyes very slowly. Take a few deep breaths to increase oxygen in the blood. -warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. -hold a pen at arm's length. Focus your gaze on the tip of the pen. Bring the pen closer to your nose at a slow and steady pace. Repeat this exercise 5-10 times. -concentrate your vision on the tip of your nose. Then shift your gaze to an object further away, either at arm's length or 20 feet away. Then shift your eyes back to the tip of your nose. Repeat this exercise 10 times. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Begin by look to the left-most position (without moving your head) and hold to stretch your eye muscles. Hold for 5 counts. Blink and return your gaze back to look straight in front of you. Then look to the right-most position with your gaze and hold for 5 counts. Repeat 3 times, blinking between each hold. Then, repeat this exercise looking up and then down. Do not forget about blinking. -sit in a relaxed but upright position. Look up and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look up to and to your left for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your right for 5 seconds. Return your gaze to center. Look down and to your left for 5 seconds. -one helpful way to do this is to imagine that you are looking at the number 12 on a clock. Then, follow the numbers around the clock with your eyes. Repeat going the other way around the clock. Medication: take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing first and then reducing the power of your eyes (if the eye power is less). Take physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month and instill euphrasia eye drops twice a day. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

I have short sightedness. I want to remove spectacles. Is there any way to do it?

Hello, DO the below given exercises to strengthen your eye muscles;- 1. Palm your eyes:-Sit comfortably in a chair. Rub your hands together until they feel warm. Close your eyes and cover them lightly with your cupped palms. Avoid applying pressure to your eyeballs. Make sure no light can enter your eyes though gaps between your fingers Take deep breaths slowly and evenly while thinking of a calming scene, like an empty beach, a clear lake, or a still mountain. Once you see nothing but blackness, remove your palms from your eyes. Repeat the palming for 3 minutes or more. 2. Massage your eyes. This will help to improve blood circulation around your eyes and face. ***Add salmon, eggs , dark choclates, apricots, spinach, carrots, soy to your diet.***

I have nystagmus problem since childhood because of this my vision is going lowing. Is there any option on nystagmus problem? Please help.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
I have nystagmus problem since childhood because of this my vision is going lowing. Is there any option on nystagmus ...
Hello lybrate-user. Nystagmus is a condition associated with oscillatory movements of the eyeball which may occur at varying intervals. It may be associated with certain retinal defects as well as systemic problems. If it has been present since childhood, it is likely to be completely curable. Though there are a few non-surgical as well as surgical options for nystagmus, they are usually associated with incomplete results. It would be better to have a look at your past reports as well as the present eye condition and then arrive upon a definite conclusion. Let me know if it is possible to communicate over the video/ audio facility provided by lybrate. In that way, I would be able to guide you in a better manner. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care-regards-dr.

I am a student, I have to study a lot. So how can I care my eyes without any problems.

I am a student, I have to study a lot. So how can I care my eyes without any problems.
You can study as much as you want, problem is when you have irritation, headache, loss of concentration while reading. Still the time you can give a gap of 3-5 min after every 30 min of continuous reading to break the fusion of the eye muscles.
