Hi, I am 28-year-old gentleman. I have been snoring since last 8 years and day-by-day it is getting louder. I am requesting you to suggest appropriate treatment plan. Thank you.
I am Dr. Monty Talwar. I am practicing homeopathy in Gurgaon since the last 21 years. Today let us talk about Sinusitis. Sinusitis is the presence of infection in the paranasal sinuses. There are 4 types of sinuses - maxillary, frontal, ethmoidal and sphenoid. The infection can occur due to bacteria or virus or due to dust, pollution. A lot of times there is a recurrent sinusitis which is due to lower immunity. Sinusitis has become very common these days in young adults.
The common symptoms are - Presence of discharge from the nose, nasal blockage, pain in the face in the region of the sinuses, there may be associated with headache, fever, cough etc. Treatment includes giving medicines for the acute symptoms. So in case there is a cold, cough or fever then we usually give acute medicines. For the recurrent sinusitis, which occurs due to lower human immunity we can do deep acting constitutional medicine.
The line of treatment usually last for about 4 to 6 months. If you have any queries related to Sinusitis or any other complaints you can consult me at my clinic in Gurgaon. You can also do online consultation through Lybrate. Thank you!

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is among the common causes of vertigo. It is the sudden sensation of the spinning of your head which occurs with the change of position of your head. It is a disorder of the inner ear. It occurs when calcium carbonate crystals accumulate in large numbers in any one of the ear canals and stimulate abnormal fluid movement in the inner ear. This sends false signals of head movement to the brain. This can also crop up post head injury. Rolling over the bed or quick head movements like when sitting up in bed can also trigger this condition.
The common symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo are as follows:
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo may be treated in the following manner:
- Medication to get relief from the spinning of your head.
- Epley's Maneuver involves transportation of the calcium particles to a different part of the ear which will no longer cause any problems.
- Brandt-Daroff exercises.
- Sometimes watchful waiting can help a person to recover without having to undergo any other treatment but it is a long process and often involves risk factors.
- Surgery: This option is used rarely when other treatments fail.
A very important thing to remember is that vertigo can lead to falls and driving should be avoided. The patient will need support during an episode to avoid injuries.
