Hi Thanks for your query and Welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr Akshay from Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. Actually pain at calf/Leg region can be due to many reasons , commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to Tendons, Nerves, Blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be : - Ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - Take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - Stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - Intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - Slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - We will get some blood tests for you - Serum Vitamin D and serum Potassium levels, ESR and CRP Once you have all these reports then you can contact me as i can advise you for proper supplementation Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Few months earlier I started playing volleyball, then I had lower leg pain near shin bone (maybe shin splint) on both legs. I decided to take rest and it was gone. Now few days earlier I started running and the pain had came back and became worse. I want to continue my running but I don't know how to minimise the pain. Please advise me something.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Ankle stretching. Ankle strengthening exercises. Avoid squatting. Quadriceps exercises. Core strenthening exercises. Stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation.

I am 59 years old male. I have knee joint pain problems for 4 year ago. I have taken treatment from many hospitals but I have no relief. Your pain seems to be from knee joint arthritis. Its a common condition which begins as ageing process starts. The extent of arthritis can be ascertained from the x ray investigation. You must start exercises for your knee muscles which will make your muscles strong so that they can take some of the load on your knee joints. Visit a physiotherapy centre ajd take 10 to 15 sittings. It should help.

Requires detailed investigation and examination hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Hello there are many reasons of pain you should go through proper investigation. Physiotherapy is the best treatment for this condition. There are many reasons for this type of pain- 1. Overuse of muscles, 2. Deficiency of vitamin d3 or calcium, or lack of water in the body, 3. Postural stress, 4. Muscle strain, etc. Please send me all investigation reports if available. I can help you by providing correct ergonomic and physiotherapeutic tips. Till then you can follow these advises:- 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints. 4. Means now is your problem only stiffness and test are positive it is as do spine extension exercise and tk physiotherapy help to maintain your fiexbility you can use other relaxation treatment but exercise must for you bcoz in this cause spine convert in bamboo shape stiff n rigid.

Start with Physiotherapy treatment for knee pain. Learn knee exercises. Wear knee cap. Don't sit on floor. Take 1. Calcium. 2. Methylcobalmine supplement 3. Glucosamine supplement for 2 months. Apply volini cream before sleeping.

I am 69 years old. I am having very little pain in my left leg below knee upto feet. I feel this (in kannada I call it as zumzum) more in night. Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

you can take tab. dolo for pain. you should be avoid bad habits . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Drink more water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. You can take Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, avoid oily foods,junk foods, go for walk. Tests every 3 to 6 months.

It must be investigated. Get a MRI of the knee. You would probably need arthroscopic knee surgery. It is a very safe procedure in our hands with uniformly good results. Don?t ignore it lest it become beginning of a bigger problem

Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

’m a 28years old male that was diagnosed with a partial ACL tear in my right knee. I’ve been living with it for 4 years. I’m not nearly as strong lifting or explosive jumping and running and my knee feels tight and weak for days after heavy sports or leg workouts, although it does’t buckle. What would be your thoughts on my situation? Grade || signal intensity in body and posterior horn of the medical meniscus, suggestive of tear. Medical serpiginous low signal intensity lesions on T1 W with central hyperintense signal on T2 W images involving medical and lateral femoral, lower 1/3 shaft of femur likely to represent bony infarcts. Small osteochondral defect with partial loss articular cartilage at lateral femoral condale. Minimal joint effusion Uric acid also high side (end line) 7.1. Thanks.

Partial acl tear usually do not need surgery. Moreover you symptoms are not due to ligament insufficiency. Partial articular cartilage defects are left as such. Grade 2 signal in meniscus are usually not symptomatic. It may not be wise to suggest anything without clinical examination and mri films, but as per your symptoms and mri report, I think you should focus on quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercises. Any surgery is less likely to improve your symptoms.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hi 1) wear comfortable sports shoes 2) make daily routine of exercise 3) rule out calcium and vit d deficiency 4) do proper warm up before exercise and cool down after exercise 5) do stretching of legs do exercise under supervision of skilled physiotherapist. I am presumjng that you are suffering from avn of the hips. If you are suffering from stage 4, stage of an established arthritis of the hip joints and if you are having significant pain, decrease in walking ability and reduced range of movements, you will be benefitted with surgical treatment. Unfortunately there is no allopathic treatment which will help you improve your condition permanently.
