Dear Vishal, Since your grandmother is already having Alzheimer's, you can not prevent it. You can reduce its progression further by giving cholinesterase inhibitor kind of drugs. For you not getting Alzheimer's later, you can keep active life style, play memory games, eat healthy and exercise regularly.

I have migraine, I use paracetamol (at least 2 in a week). Is Paracetamol cause any side effect?

Among the various analgesics used for headache paracetamol is safest. I will share some tips to decrease your headache episodes so that need for analgesics is decreased. Follow these lifestyle changes to avoid headache 1. Maintain regular sleep wake cycle, even on holiday's. 2. Don't skip meals. Take regular healthy diet with adequate fluids 3. Do not consume excess caffeine / carbohydrates / alcohol or smoke. 4. Exercise daily (aerobics and cardiovascular) 5. Identify your headache trigger and try to avoid it.

I will suggest you undergo routine blood count, ESR, blood electrolytes, tests for vestibular (balance) system like electronystagmography or rotation tests to diagnose the cause for dizziness. Your local physician or GP will know about the test. He/she will order the test after complete history and thoroughly clinical examination like temperature, pulse, blood pressure which will enable us to arrive a diagnosis. Hope this will help you.

I am suffering from migraine. What are the symptoms of it n how can be minimized.

Migraine symptome are very cleare first half side it can be right or left in most cases sometimes its front and back side headache. Second is it attacks in every 2-15 days depending on severity. If its chronic pt feel drowsyness, and vomitting also. It should nt leave untreated because it can give major problem in future.

Please ask your doctor to order a venous Doppler test of your lower limbs to rule out deep venous thrombosis which will need treatment asap. If that is normal your surgeon can examine to decide if you need a fresh MRI.

) symptoms of migraine 1. Unilateral headache, eye pain 2. Throbbing and pulsating pain 3. Nausea and vomiting 4. Increased sensitivity to light and sound 5. Feeling of dizzy or faint cause unknown. May be due to decrease in brain chemical-serotonin which regulates pain in the nervous system, genetic, environmental factor triggering factors a) hunger (missedmeal, drinking alcohol (redwine),/coffee, tea) b) inadequatesleep, stress, anxiety, depression, agitation, bright light/sun glare c) environmental factors like glaring light, loud noise, strong smell/prfume/passive smoking d) weather changes, high altitude, e) use of oral contraceptive, hormonal changes like oestrogen fluctuation during pregnancy, menopause, hormonal replacement therapy f) continuous use of cell phone g) salted food, aged cheese, processed food.

I am suffering from insomnia. Not getting much sleep please tell me what should I do?

I can understand how disturbing an interuppted, inappropriate or disturbed sleep can affect your day to day life. In india it has been found 55% of patients are suffering from insomnia just because of stress, distractions and anxiety. So the best way to get rid from insomnia is to reduce the stress level. A physiotherapist can help you to give you the ways to relax your mind and give you comfort and stress full sleep. Consult some neurologist/neuropyschiatric and start taking medicine if it is due to some neurological discorder. And consult nearby physio who can make a perfect routine and daily life styl chart to make you relax so that you get an appropriate sleep. Please follow some points that will help you in such condition along with medical treatment: 1) use of ice packs over your eyes or frontal area for some time to give relaxation. 2) massage your head especially forehead area using levander oil or clove oil as it removes toxins from body 3) regular intake of healthy dietry food rich in proteins and vitamins. 4) avoid fasting - eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timings 5) make yourself busy by fulfilling your hobby as it will give you freshness and your mind will be diverted from normal life which help in pain reduction. 6) before sleeping time do some relaxation exercises. - sit on chair with both the hands placed on the pillow placed over thighs. - deep inhale from your nose, mouth should be closed. - hold your breath for the count of 5. - exhale completely from mouth making a loud sound. Continue to do this exercise for 10 times. Before going to bed make a habit of doing this daily. Modified technique of same exercise is while inhaling extend your arms, hold for 5 count and then exhale making your arms back in the rest position. 7) room modification while sleep - make sure room should be dark with no noise. Avoid sleeping immediately after dinner or food. Take a walk for 15 min and then come back, bed should be not too soft not too hard. 8) it is recommended to drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water per day. It is also a very good habit to start and finish your day by drinking a good glass of purifying water. 9) exerices like aerobics (running) can be done to make your muscles active. Many other ways are there in order to maintain your life stress free and active so that you can continue to sleep on time and it does affect your life. Good luck and get well soon.

Symptoms are headache, vomiting, giddiness, paralysis of any body part including limbs, face, tongue etc. There are a lot of other symptoms and not all patients have all of them. Treatment depends on a no. Of factors like type, site, size of tumor etc. But consists of surgery followed by radio and chemotherapy. Either alone or in combinations.

Sir mam I used to be very intelligent in my last class and did not sit quite until I get my answer by surfing net asking question to teacher or by my common sense I get fascinated by solving maths problem but now in 11th class I loss interest in studies I loss interest by playing my favourite PC games I also have some hair loss. I also get tired and have fatigue from morning to afternoon even if I get full sleep but I laugh a lot I get even frustrated as when I try to study my mind's always told me that you are so much intelligent in class 10th but you r now no more this frustrated me as I have no will to study. My when class always says yes sir/mam and I don't understand so also develop bad habit of saying yes even if I don't understand that this even frustrate me more. I even don'tcry in 10th I have dreamofbecoming engineer but now my mind says what happenof don't become engineer just start small business and what happens ifu fail in thatetc etc I wanna know if I have depression or not.

I am 38 Years old male and suffering from High BP (Diastolic). I have a healthy history and don't have any disease (neither heredity). Now I don't do any physical exercise but still I am physically fit and can walk 3-4 kms any time. My height is 5.10 feet and weight is 76 kg. 1 month back at the time of sleeping, I felt higher heart beat rate, numbness in my left hand and some uneasiness and I couldn't sleep. Next day I visited doctor, he found my diastolic BP (104). He also suggested some more tests (ECG and ECHO). ECG was normal and in echo test it was mentioned" Hypertensive heart disease"(Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction) and LVEF was 62% at rest. As of now I am consuming Aten (Atenolol) 25 once a day and doctor also suggested me to take Trika. 25 (Alprazolam) at the time of sleeping but I didn't consume Trika and only consuming Aten 25. I was fine after that and I stopped consuming medicine (Aten) 3-4 days back as I was feeling fine and now today I am again feeling high BP. Which medicine should I continue. Aten 25 is fine or I should continue Trika. 25 too? How can I control my BP naturally.

Hi, some time when I sleep and wake I find out my whole body in sleeping, even I am awake then also can't open my eyes and move my body and shout out also for help then somehow, I try to jerk my body by putting pressure on body and head after few minutes my body circulation start (as feel) then all thing become normal and it looks like that nothing happens this happened me 5 -6 times till now on various times, help me what to do?

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days, inform

Follow the tips *avoid caffeine and nicotine. *refrain from consumption of alcoholic drinks before bed. *avoid large meals and beverages late at night. *it is good to exercise, but not too late in the day. *don't take naps after 3 p. M. *have the right sunlight exposure. *take a hot water bath before going to bed. *relaxation before going to bed helps. *a good sleeping environment can be helpful. *don't stay awake for long time in bed. *say no to late-night television.

It could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do neck & back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Use of cervical collar will give you relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you will need other supportive medicines also. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Get ent opinion as well.

Not all brain tumor is cancer. But if it is large, it will most probably require surgery. Other non surgical options like Gamma knife and Cyber knife are available for certain types of tumours. I can give you a definite opinion if I can see all the MRI films.
