Bad breath is due to accumulation of plaque on teeth, decay teeth, dry mouth, smoking, tobacco chewing, consumption of caffeinated or aerated beverages, oilly n spicy food, sore throat, bad digestion. Go for scaling and polishing of teeth. Use mouthwash twice daily after brushing. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Increase your water intake. for your broken teeth, get it x-rayed to determine the proximity of breakage line to the nerve endings n the amount of tooth structure left. depending on this you might require rct n cap or complete removal of tooth.

It may be rhanula i.e. Cystic collection of saliva in salivary glands. Antibiotics may not help you. Surgery to remove that swelling will be ideal treatment.

Hi. Unfortunately nothing can be done except physically removing the decay. If the pulp/nerves are involved then rct becomes a must otherwise not. Visit a dentist, get a radiograph made. If needed take a second opinion before you do the treatment.

I am suffering from pain full mouth ulcer from last few years. Kindly suggest me.
The exact cause of most mouth ulcers is unknown. Stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple mouth ulcers. Certain foods, including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes and strawberries), can trigger a mouth ulcer or make the problem worse. Sometimes a sharp tooth surface or dental appliance, such as braces or ill-fitting dentures, might also trigger mouth ulcers. The exact cause of most mouth ulcers is unknown. Sometimes a sharp tooth surface or dental appliance, such as braces or ill-fitting dentures, might also trigger mouth ulcers. Some cases of complex mouth ulcers are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin b12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency and gastrointestinal tract disease, such as coeliac disease and crohn's disease. Avoiding foods that irritate your mouth, including acidic or spicy foods avoiding irritation from gum chewing brushing with a soft-bristled brush after meals and flossing daily, which will keep your mouth free of foods that might trigger a sore. Avoid smoking, tobacco chewing. Seek medical advice about mouth ulcers if you have: unusually large sores sores that are spreading sores that last three weeks or longer intolerable pain despite avoiding trigger foods and taking over-the-counter pain medication difficulty drinking enough fluids a high fever with the appearance of the mouth ulcer. Take becosules for 10days daily once (one cap) apply dologel on the affected area. Gargle with betadine mouth gargle.

Root Canal Treatment - How it Can Relieve Your Tooth Pain and Save Your Smile?

BDS

Root Canal Treatment - How it Can Relieve Your Tooth Pain and Save Your Smile?

A root canal is a treatment to repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth. The procedure involves removing the damaged area of the tooth (the pulp), cleaning and disinfecting it and then filling and sealing it. The common causes affecting the pulp are a cracked tooth, a deep cavity, repeated dental treatment to the tooth or trauma. The term "root canal" comes from cleaning of the canals inside the tooth's root.

Millions of teeth are treated and saved each year with root canal, or endodontic, treatment. Learn more about root canal treatment and how it can relieve your tooth pain and save your smile.

The Procedure-

  1. A root canal procedure begins with an X-ray to determine the shape of the root canals and whether the infection has spread to the adjoining bone.

  2. Local anesthesia is then administered to numb the affected area.

  3. A rubber sheet is then placed around the tooth to keep the area and prevent it from the saliva.

  4. A hole is then drilled in the affected tooth, following which the decayed pulp and nerve tissues are removed.

  5. The removal is done by using root canal files which are inserted into the hole and then used to scrape and scrub the insides of the tooth.

  6. After the scraping, water is used to clean and flush out the debris.

  7. After the tooth is cleaned, it is sealed after administering medications to prevent infection.

  8. The sealing process involves filling the inner portion of the teeth by a rubber based compound and a sealer paste.

Modern endodontic treatment is very similar to having a routine filling and usually can be completed in one or two appointments, depending on the condition of your tooth and your personal circumstances. You can expect a comfortable experience during and after your appointment.

  • Saving the natural tooth with root canal treatment has many advantages:

  • Efficient chewing

  • Normal biting force and sensation

  • Natural appearance

  • Protects other teeth from excessive wear or strain

Post-obturation:

  1. Once the surgery is done, the tooth may become sensitive due to inflammation of the tissues for the first few days.

  2. This pain and inflammation can be limited by pain medications such as ibuprofen.

  3. It is advised to avoid any chewing by the affected teeth as it can slow down the repair process. You can brush and floss your teeth regularly

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dentist.

Avoid it in the kids less than 10 years. And use as little as required to brush your teeth. Any tooth paste that contains sodium lauryl sulfate is harmful. So use less quantity of the toothpaste always.
