You may try complete bed rest, plenty of liquid intake, proper home food and paracetamol tablets like Crocin 500 mg 3 times a day for 2-3 days. If no relief see a General Physician for clinical examinatin, related investigations, diagnosis and treatment.

If stretching is not giving you relief then firstly tk heat fermentation apply pain relief ointment and avoid long sitting and toward bending. 2nd option tk physio treatment for pain relief must for you.

My mother is 77 years old she is having joint pains (arthrities) what should I do?

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days.

This back pain is due to no back exercise. Due to this muscle get stiff. When suddenly you get move fast that time this stiff muscle get break and pain start. In ayurved there is mentioned one procedure kati basti. Do this for five days with medicated oil if you want to do it you should do it under doctor observation. So consult ayurvedic doctor near you. You will definitely get good result.

Hello there are many reasons of pain you should go through proper investigation. Physiotherapy is the best treatment for this condition. There are many reasons for this type of pain- 1. Overuse of muscles, 2. Deficiency of vitamin d3 or calcium, or lack of water in the body, 3. Postural stress, 4. Muscle strain, etc. Please send me all investigation reports if available. I can help you by providing correct ergonomic and physiotherapeutic tips. Till then you can follow these advises:- 1. Take calcium supplements and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before getting out of your bed. 4. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. 5. I am 27 year old male. I have pain in my left shoulder since a month and a half. The pain is only felt when picking up something at a certain angle only. I also get a back ache when I sleep at night and get up in the morning. If I keep a pillow under my knees I don't have the pain, but the whole back pains if I forget to keep the pillow.

Hello, Thank you for your query in Lybrate. Here you mentioned that you have problems related to your shoulder joints and your back muscles. These can happen after any injury or frozen shoulder and spondylosis. Sometimes getting cold may cause pain in muscles and joints. You need to apply warmth on affected part, Avoid getting cold/Damp. If you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home. - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know how you are feeling. I will actually ask you to get x ray of involved region of spine (ap & lateral) and send reports across to me so that I can advise further in a better manner. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

My MRI report says L4-L5 and L5-S1 disc shows diffuse bulge causing indentation on thecal sac which was expected and the doctors told it's not a major cause of worry. But the report showed B/I facet joint arthropathy at L5-S1. I'm 24 years old. Is it a cause of worry?

Do take ift and vacuum therapy physiotherapy treatment for pain relief for 12 days followed by strengthening exercise from physiotherapist apply hot water fomentation thrice a day for 10 days regularly do revert for further assistance best wishes.

Its due to over straining. Do some stretching . Relax for sometime. The pain will go in a day's time. If the pain is unbearable accompanied by redness and swelling over the painful area then u must consult a doctor.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I have foot lain for last couple of months while standing or walking for little long. I am 21 and at 19 I used to wear high heel shoes because I am very fond of good height bhot now I came back to normal shoes. I recently have x ray if my feet which came back normal and I do have a lot of veins on my foot. Thank you.

It might be possibly due to right leg muscles. If you are used to high heels and if you sit or stand in particular position it leads to tight muscles I can prescribe basic exercises to help you with the foot pain but before that you need to tell me where exactly it hurts?

I am 18 years old. I have a severe pain in my lower back. I had a mri done in december 2014 according to that I have a minor slip disc. All the doctors have sent me to a physiotherapist. I have been exercising regularly but still there is no relief. What should I do?

You are too young. These symptoms should not be ignored. Stiffness & pain in back & other joints is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.
