Basic Ayurvedic Remedies For Your Child's Everyday Problems!

BAMS
Ayurveda, Faridabad
Basic Ayurvedic Remedies For Your Child's Everyday Problems!

Our body has certain mind body principles. According to Ayurveda, and these are known as doshas. The three doshas include Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas. They create an equal balance in the body and are found in every system, organ and part of the same. Vata governs a child’s creativity, communication, nervous impulses and intelligence whereas, Pitta takes care of digestion, growth, transformation and metabolism. Lastly, the Kapha takes care of calmness and serenity.

You can know about the constitutions of these three doshas with the help of an Ayurvedic expert. This way one can know what illness or problems their child might face in the future. Here are a few Ayurvedic elements that can be beneficial for your child in general:

  1. Ragi, rava and wheat can be added to soup or boiled with goat milk or cow milk.
  2. When the teeth of the child start to grow, you can give them rice gruels.
  3. Bocapi moneiri, pierorhiea and elitoria are herbal Ayurvedic medicines that are helpful for a child’s brain development.
  4. Memory and intelligence can be increased or enhanced with the help of herbs like Brahmi, Shankhpushpi etc.

In case your child is suffering from some of the common illnesses, you can opt for the following Ayurvedic treatments:

  1. Abdominal pain
    • Ajamoda and saunf powder boiled in water and given in lukewarm water
    • Jeera or Saindhav dissolved in water
  2. Common cold
    • Tulsi juice with honey, two to three times a day
    • Ginger juice sips with lime in lukewarm water
  3. Diarrhea
    • Sharbat or bilwa fruit pulp with sugar in water.
    • Pomegranate fruit powder is given with pomegranate seed juice.
  4. Throat infection
    • Give yashtimadhu stick for chewing
    • Salt and turmeric powder boiled for gargling
  5. Vomiting
    • Clove, sugar, saunf and puffed rice soaked in water
    • Elaichi powder and yashtimadhu powder with ginger and lime powder
  6. Worms
    • vidangarishta seeds with milk
    • Palash beej powder with honey for licking

Ayurveda is a natural method for healing health problems and various kinds of illnesses. It not only eliminates the disease but also creates antibodies for further use. Ayurveda causes no harm or side effects and can be taken by people of any age. The kind of medicines or remedies you need will depend on the kind and type of doshas you have.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Babies tend to do that, do not worry about it. Sometimes due to growth spurt (body growth) baby do that. Let him breastfeed as much as he want for comfort.

My son 5.5 year old have problem since 3 year nephrotic syndrome. We are helpless not able to understand how to cure baby. His schooling also miss out most of the time. We consulting doctor but not able understand how long baby have to suffer from nefrotic. We are fully confuse what will be the correct diet to control problem. How long it will take to cure n there is any hope for complete cure. My baby live life like other baby. Medication on going .omnacortil daily consume 50 mg Need a better n safe solution for my baby. Expecting your kind support asap. Regards

MD Pediatrics
Pediatrician, Vadodara
Once a child is diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome the first line of medicines to be started for the child is omnacortil that is a steroid. Nephrotic syndrome may relapse till 15 years of age and sometimes about that. It is very important for the parents to support the child during this phase. As the medicine omnacortil that is going on has got advantages for nephrotic syndrome and disadvantages as side effects. If nephrotic syndrome is not controlled with the help of omnacortil then we have to go for other medicines to control it. But if omnacortil is able to control the disease that is nephrotic syndrome and the side effects are not more then we usually continue omnacortil. You have to visit your pediatrician every 15 to 20 days so as to C for any side effects related to omnacortil which is a steroid. If nephrotic syndrome is controlled then the child can have a normal childhood. It is very important for the parents to encourage the child and at the same time not lose hope as after some years nephrotic syndrome does get cured.
