Tips to protect your spine

About 90 per cent of the population will suffer from back or neck pain when they reach adulthood. When it comes to the spine, prevention is best.

Take short frequent breaks away from the computer.
Sit up straight on and off every 10-15 minutes, periodically stand up, walk around and stretch every hour.
Do regular stretching and strengthening exercises.
Keep the top of the computer screen at eye-level.
This way you will be looking down at the screen at a 15- to 20-degree angle which is less strenuous on the neck.
Adopt a good sitting posture
Sit upright and make sure both the feet are on the floor, and the elbows, knees, hips and ankles are at a 90-degree angle. Place a cushion against the back of the chair to support the lower back. When typing for prolonged periods, sit close to the table and rest the elbows on the table to relieve stress from the shoulders and neck.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi My mother 65 year old she having neck spiral cervical spondylosis she suffered from high pain for last pain I consult the orthopedic doctor she admitted in his hopital for 7 days but she cant having relief from the pain now she is at home she cant sit more than two minutes and cant walik for more than 2 minutes now she eat lyrica and itova tablet but she cant relif from the pain kindly give me advice or suggest specialist for her relief.

Dear User, Do proper exercise like walking slowly, asana, pranayam. Apply medicated oil like Dashmool taila over knee and back before bath. Avoid backery products keep your bowel clear. Generally with flatulance (gas problem) pain gets worsen, so avoid such food. You can consult me with your x rays and other reports in private.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Frozen shoulder is a self limiting disease. It usually occurs in diabetics. She can continue her exercises. If a couple of months are over then she can under go manipulation under anesthesia.

Leg exercise kijiye daily I hope you will fit and fine……………………………………………….Basic Leg Exercises The following Basic Leg Exercises should generally be performed 1 - 3 times per week provided they do not cause or increase pain. Ideally they should not be performed on consecutive days, to allow muscle recovery. As your strength improves, the exercises can be progressed by gradually increasing the repetitions, number of sets or resistance of the leg exercises provided they do not cause or increase pain. Swiss Ball Squats Begin this leg exercise in standing with your feet shoulder width apart, your feet facing forwards and a Swiss Ball placed between a wall and your back (figure 1). Slowly perform a squat, keeping your back straight. Your knees should be in line with your middle toes and should not move forward past your toes. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Lunges Begin this leg exercise standing with your back straight in the position demonstrated (figure 2). Slowly lower your body until your front knee is at a right angle. Keep your front knee in line with your middle toe and your feet facing forward. Then slowly return to the starting position maintaining good posture throughout the exercise. Perform 1 - 3 sets of 10 repetitions provided the exercise is pain free Hip Abduction Sidelying Begin this leg exercise lying on your side in the position demonstrated (figure 3). Keeping your back and knee straight and foot facing forwards, slowly take your leg upwards tightening the muscles at the side of your thigh / hip (abductors). Hold for 2 seconds and then return to the starting position. Perform 1 – 3 sets of 10 repetitions on each leg provided the exercise is pain free. This exercise can be progressed by adding an ankle weight to your ankle for increased resistance. DEAR………. Shoulder pain Physiotherapy uses a number of different physical methods to promote healing. If you are referred to a physiotherapist, they should explain to you what treatment they will use and how it will work. Possible treatments include: •specific shoulder exercises – for example, if you have shoulder instability, you may be given exercises to strengthen your shoulder •massage – where the physiotherapist uses their hands to manipulate your shoulder Read more about some of the different techniques used inphysiotherapy. Shoulder exercises If you have shoulder pain, it's important to keep your shoulder joint mobile with light and gentle movement. Not using your shoulder can cause your muscles to waste away and may make any stiffness worse. Therefore, if possible, you should continue using your shoulder as normal. If your shoulder is very stiff, exercise may be painful. Your GP or physiotherapist can give you exercises to do without further damaging your shoulder. You may be given exercises to do on your own, or you may complete the exercises with supervision from your GP or physiotherapist. You may also have manual therapy, where the healthcare professional moves your arm for you. Manual therapy uses special techniques to move the joints and soft tissues in your shoulder. One review of a number of studies found that long-term physiotherapy was as effective as surgery for impingement syndrome (any type of damage to the tendons in the rotator cuff). I think you reduce your cholesterol levels. And you can put collar neck. And take tab. Hifanac p1-0-1 /wk. And apply move spray.

Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. 1-1 tab yograj guggul after lunch and dinner. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Take green vegetables. Drink juice. Eat fruits. Drink 7-8 glass of water in a day. Take 7 hours sleep minimum. Do pranayama early morning. Hi, Take tab. Shallaki 400 mg 1-2 tabs 3 times a day depending on the severity of the pain. Take Balarista 2tsf 3 times a day, mixed with equal quantity of water and Maharasnadi Khadha 2 tsf 3 times a day, mixed with equal quantity of water. Apply Rumalaya liniment to the affected joints and massage in circular motion for 10-15 mins and then take hot water fomentation. Avoid potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweet pumpkin, peas, channa, recently harvested rice, jackfruit, etc. Which aggrevate the pain. You can even undergo physio- therapy for 10-15 days.
