Why You Must Not Delay Getting Your Dental Implants?

Why You Must Not Delay Getting Your Dental Implants?

Why you must not delay getting your dental implants?

Dental implants are surgical components like frames or metal posts, which are placed beneath the gums so as to enable a dentist to mount artificial teeth onto them. Since these components blend very easily with your jawbone, they offer excellent support for your teeth replacements.

Can anyone have an implant?

It is important for your teeth and gums to be healthy in order to consider a dental implant. You need to have a strong bone in your jaw so that it can support the replacement tooth after the implants. If you smoke, suffer from diabetes or have certain gum disease you are not suitable for the procedure.

Why should you get started on this procedure?

If you are suitable for the procedure of dental implant, it is highly advisable to not delay it any further. Implants should be fitted within one year of losing a tooth since the jaw bone surrounding a tooth starts to shrink in size and gradually becomes so small that it fails to support an implant.

Here are some reasons as to why you should get started on this procedure:

1. To gain healthy and natural looking teeth without affecting surrounding teeth

Nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, so your natural teeth remain intact. They help in preventing healthy teeth nearby from shifting, which is very common if there's an empty space next to a healthy tooth for a long period of time. The procedure sees a replacement tooth being positioned in place of the lost tooth so that it not only looks but feels like a natural tooth.

2. To protect your jawbone

Not filling up empty spaces in your mouth can severely affect your jawbone. It begins to lose its firmness and strength as a consequence of no longer being able to support a natural tooth. Dental implants help in stimulating bone growth while preventing bone loss.

3. To keep your face from sagging

Missing teeth can cause your face to sink and sag, giving you a very sad and aged appearance. Dental implants provide you with the chance to retain the natural shape of not only your face but your smile too.

4. They do not move or shift but remain in place

Dental implants resemble your own natural teeth as they fuse with the bone permanently. Moreover, being fixed in one place due to the fusion, you can expect the replacement teeth to not move or shift.

Teeth pain in one week I am usining anti biotic. aceclofenac tab no cure long full pain so please rectified medicine.

Dentist, Kolar
Dental pain n infections need definitive treatment n intervention by dentist. Medicines alone can't treat majority of dental infections. Visit your dentist at earliest n get your teeth evaluated to locate the cause of your problem n get treated accordingly. Avoid self medications. Many dental infections subside only after simultaneous intervention by dentist while your on medications.

On last Friday I was in office party an had drinks more than I usually do. After sometime I went to vomit. First time it was food that came out but second time it was blood with water while vomiting. I thought it was due to chicken which I had or just might be color of it. But yesterday early morning I was in office when I observed small amount of blood in my saliva. It was first time and didn't come again though after that I felt blood coming out of my gums. Nothing comes up after spitting again. Pls suggest.

few advice to stop bleeding gums-- - visit to a dentist for professional cleaning once in a year - use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water to keep the area clean. - Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth.

My teeth is yellowish colour I use many toothpaste but not benefit which toothpaste clean my teeth.

Homeopath, Faridabad
Use Homeodent toothpaste twice daily, morning and night before sleep. Take care. Home remedy:- Cleaning your teeth with fresh orange peel on a regular basis will reduce the yellow tinge accumulated on your teeth. Rub orange peel over your teeth every night before going to sleep. The vitamin C and calcium in the orange peel will combat the microorganisms throughout the night. Do this for a few weeks and you will notice effective results. If fresh orange peel is not available, you can use dried orange peel powder. Take care.

I am 71 years old male having only 4 lower natural teeth and wearing a denture for the remaining ones. Often, when I wake up in the morning or in the middle of the night, I find some spit on one side of my lips or on the pillow. Is there any remedy to avoid such occurence?

Dentist, Jabalpur
Hello, Uncle its normal. It's because once you loose your natural teeth your vertical height of mouth and hence saliva drools out just like in small baby with no teeth. Don't worry! if it troubles you a lot then you can consult me for fixed teeth.

Tfn implanted two years back. Implant broken (proximal end) one year back by itself. Advised revision surgery. Age 57 years.

Dentist, Pune
Implant breakage is uncommon problem in dentistry. But still there are cases of implant breakage. Probably the manufacturing defect from the company can cause it. Many reputed implants comes with warranty ranging from 5 years to 20 years these days. Ask your dentist if its in warranty. And next time chose implant from reputed company like nobel biocare.

I have gap in my frontal teeth of 0.5 cm. What treatment should be done to cure it?

Dentist, Mumbai
Lybrate-user management of the gap will depend on many factors. Was the gap present from childhood or has it developed later? do you have any habits? in a nutshell, you need a proper evaluation before the best course of treatment can be decided keeping in mind your needs, time and cost. The best treatment option would be orthodontic correction (braces) as it would not require the physical alteration of any original tooth. The other options are, ceramic / composite veneers & crowns.

Avoid using your teeth for anything other than chewing food. If you use them to crack nuts, remove bottle tops or rip open packaging, you risk chipping or even breaking your teeth.

By your complaint, I feel you could be having one of these four complaints: (most common, could be something else also!) 1. Follate papillae: These are vestigial (almost redundant, not used) taste buds of tongue that may become more prominent in some people. 2. Lymphoid aggregates: Lymph nodes are present throught out our body. At times they may develop on sides of tongue because of innumerable reasons. 3. Hairy Leukoplakia: It is almost parallel white colored lines present on the side of the tongue. It is more common in HIV+ patients but is not typical of it. 4. Frictional Keratosis: White colored thick area formed because of chronic irritation from sharp cusps of teeth. Whatever be the reason for this 'dana' do not keep touching it with fingers or tongue. Let it be. Observe it for at least two weeks. Within this time if it ulcerates, swells, pains, or causes a discharge, report to your local dentist immediately for a biopsy. Also, if this persists for more than a month, report to your local dentist for a biopsy. If not, then calm yourself and let the body take its own sweet course. Take care.
