Hello Lybrate user Pimples or acne caused when the body is unable to remove toxins through excretion leading to contamination of the bloodstream. This can be due to constipation irregular bowel movement irregular meal timings excess starch, sugar, oil and fat consumption acc to ayurveda it is caused by vitiated pitta and kapha by above said food habits. Try to rule out the cause as the first line of treatment. Rx Surakta 10 ml twice a day after food. Puritin cap 1 twice a day after food. Triphala churna 1 tsp with warm water only at bedtime for a week.

Rx Steam inhalation with halin drops or mint leaves. Dashamoola katutrayadi kwatha 10ml diluting with warm water twice a day before food. Sudarshan vati 2 twice a day after food. Avoid cold heavy fermented oily food stuffs. Avoid exposure to direct wind and sunlight.

Symptoms whiteheads blackheads pimples pores scar marks red and itchy rashes do's and don'ts avoid sugar and sweets don't have foods containing white flour, such as bread, biscuits, cakes, pastries and pasta. Avoid canned, preserved or processed foods. Don't have fried foods. Boil, steam, bake or lightly grill them instead. Avoid fatty foods like butter, cream and ice cream. Don't have processed foods as most of them contain trans-fats. Avoid smoking rx surakta 3tsp_0_3tsp a/f puritin cap 1_0_1a/f skinelle oint e/a every night for 3 weeks. Roasted cinnamon powder with honey application for 20 mins weekly thrice. Use Siddhartaka soap Evefresh cream regular application.

Hello Lybrate user Dark discolouration of the skin under the eye is mainly referred to as dark circles. It is also known as dark rings or shadows. Causes of dark circles are heredity, aging, dry skin, prolonged crying, working for long hours in front of a computer, mental or physical stress, lack of sleep and an unhealthy diet. Both men and women of different age groups can have dark circles. Remedies 1. Before going to bed, apply a little almond oil over the dark circles and gently massage it into the skin. 2. Apply gram flour with tomato juice. 3. Apply raw potato juice alternately. 4. Start a few eye excercises. 5. Make it a habit of drinking tomato juice with some pudina /indian-herbs or mint leaves, lemon juice and salt. 6. Always use sunglasses when going out in sun to protect the eyes from the harmful rays. 7. Make a paste of turmeric powder and pineapple juice. Apply it on the dark circles. 8. Apply Cucumber gel at bedtime Additional Precautions 1. Get adequate sleep and rest. 2. Avoid rubbing your eyes too much or too often, as it causes the blood vessels to dilate, thus making the under eye appear darker. 3. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to get rid of water retention that could be a cause of the problem. 4. Eat foods rich in vitamins A, C and E.

Hello lybrate user Regular application of glycerine may diminish your skin glow. you can replace glycerine with kumkumadi lepa. It can be applied regularly overnight. It also aids to increase glow, remove dark spots and maintains the skin texture.

I am 27 years young, I am facing a problem of hair fall from last 2 months, my scalp is very dry and itchy but but no dandruff. I consulted a dermatologist and she asked me to use the following products and medicine: 1. Revilus shampoo alternate days 2. Revilus tablet daily 1 tablet 3. Elocon scalp lotion I have been using Revilus shampoo from last one month but Revilus tablet and Elocon lotion I couldn't get from medical stores due to shortage. Please suggest should I use these Revilus tablet and Elocon scalp lotion or you would recommend something else?

Hello Lybrate user Motherhood is a special and joyous moment in every woman’s life. But this is possible if her health is taken care of during postnatal period. The postnatal period or Puerperium is called ‘Sutika kala” and woman is called ‘Sutika’ in Ayurveda. A woman is called ‘Sutika’ only after the placenta is expelled during labour. The duration of ‘Sutikakala’ is usually 1-1/2 month (45 days). Great emphasis has been laid on post natal care i. E. Sutika Paricharya, as during this period she restores her health and strength. Ayurveda compares the condition of woman after childbirth with that of a pot filled with oil up to brim. If the pot becomes unstable, the oil spills. So, if proper care is not taken during postnatal period, her health deteriorates. According to ayurveda Vata activity is responsible for the process of child delivery. Vata will be immensely increased soon after delivery. The digestion power, hygiene and immunity will also be very low in the mother. Its time to take care without ignoring it. Rx Shatavari granules 1tsp with milk twice a day Suddha bala taila Massage whole body regularly before bath. Draksharista 3tsp diluting with cup water twice a day for 2 weeks.

Hello Lybrate user. Thank you for sharing your health concern. Centralized obesity (belly fat) mainly due to absence of physical activity. Other causes may be sleeping during the day, intake of Kapha - increasing foods (heavy, sweet, cooling and unctuous food in excess). Over intake of food. Heredity and Pathology are rare causes. Tips to reduce Fat formation •Avoid excess eating, eating during indigestion or just after taking pervious meal. •Avoid day sleeping; sleep in the night after one hour of your dinner. •Do regular exercise like brisk walking (at least), running, swimming etc. Avoid sedentary and lethargic lifestyle. •Avoid eating excess sweets. Have lowfat /skim dairy products. Avoid product like chocolates, ice creams, cheese, paneer, sugar etc. •Take non-vegetarian food like chicken, fishes, eggs, meats etc. In moderate quantity. Remove fat from meat & skin from chicken. •Try to minimise excess oil & ghee in cooking, Use a non-stick pan for cooking. Avoid hydrogenated vegetable oils, Instead of frying things try to consume roasted things & change your cooking techniques a little. Grill or bake food instead of frying, cook vegetables without fat by steaming and boiling. •Use low fat spreads and chutney on wheat bread instead of butter and cheese. •Don't consume excess alcoholic drinks or water on empty stomach. •Avoid aerated drinks and excess water after meal. •Intake of fat and carbohydrates should be restricted. Rx Triphala ras 10 ml twice a day diluting with warm water Medohara guggulu 2 twice a day a/f for 3 weeks. For UTI Neeri tab 1 thrice A day a/f for 5 days.

Hello lybrate user frequently gas problem is because of improper digestion. Disturbed sleep is the result of gastric issue. Causes for improper digestion skipping meals overeating eating when previous meal not digested sleeping immediately after eating having more spicy heavy fermented foods not drinking sufficient water excess coffee tea intake lack of excercise try to rule out the cause rx hingwastaka churna 1/2 tsp twice a day b/f sutashekara ras 2_0_2 with warm water b/f for 1 week.

Hello lybrate user overweight or obesity/ looking fat mainly due to absence of physical activity. Other causes may be sleeping during the day, intake of kapha - increasing foods (heavy, sweet, cooling and unctuous food in excess). Over intake of food. Heredity and pathology are rare causes. Tips to reduce weight 1. No salt after 7: 30 2. No aerated drinks. 3. Restrict mango and banana 4. Restrict potato and rice. 5. No artificial juices as well. 6. Half an hour of aerobic exercise daily. If you want to join a gym good enough. 7.20 mins of breathing exercise. (pranayam) 8. Avoid rajmah, channa, peas, mushroom, gobi, pumpkin, leafy vegetables, capsicum, paneer, cheese, curd, non veg, maida related items (like bread, bun, pizza, burger etc), deep fried and spicy food, sweets, sugar, high carbohydrate fruits like apple, sapota, banana etc. 9. Avoid rice intake in the morning and night importantly. 10. Avoid morning intake of refrigerated food preparations done in the night. 11. Intake of food should be on time without skipping even a single meal. 12. Maintain min two hours of gap between dinner intake and sleep. 13. Consume min eight glasses of water in a day. 14. Should be early to bed and early to raise. Late night sleeping strictly to be avoided. 15. Have fruits only in the noon time. Avoid fruits consumption in the night (occasionally can be taken before dinner). 16. Stop intake of milk during bed time. 17. Bathing should be before food intake only. 18. Tea, milk intake should be twice a day preferably morning and evening. Coffee intake should be strictly avoided. Triphala ras 10 ml _0_10 ml diluting with cup of warm water b/f for 30 days.

Excess of Pitta dosha in the body is increased by hot climatic conditions, excessive intake of spicy, salty and sour food, hot and sharp food, tea, coffee, alcohol, meats and excessive smoking. Eating too much fried, oily, greasy, and acidic foods also aggravates Pitta. Pitta balancing herb (Eg: Shatavari —Asparagus) effective in treating hair fall. There are a number of other causes for hair fall like acute illness, scalp infection like dandruff, high stress, and thyroid imbalance, certain drugs, sudden weight loss and high fever. Try to rule out the cause by few investigations. Best tips to prevent hair loss Massage scalp weekly twice with Durdurpatradi taila. Do yoga and meditations as these are stress buster and mood elevator Adequate amount of water is essential for proper growth of hair One shouldn’t comb when the hair is wet Sound sleep for 7-8 hours is utmost important Avoid beverages like alcohol, coffee, excessive smoking Give more weightage to seasonal fruits and green vegetables Iron rich and adequate protein diet is good for hair loss The juice of carrot, lettuce is good for hair growth Avoid Pitta aggravating foods like spicy, fried and oily foods Applying the juice of coriander on the scalp proves very fruitful in preventing of hair loss. Thyroid imbalance, pcos may increase weight. Better to reduce naturally than any supplements. First try to know the cause and avoid it. Without physical workout and diet weight reduction is not possible. Tips to reduce Fat formation •Avoid excess eating, eating during indigestion or just after taking pervious meal. •Avoid day sleeping; sleep in the night after one hour of your dinner. •Do regular exercise like brisk walking (at least), running, swimming etc. Avoid sedentary and lethargic lifestyle. •Avoid eating excess sweets. Hello lybrate user biscuits are allowed and good only if it is maida free eg. Marie gold. Can be taken along with tea. Fruits are always best choice as it can fulfill the required nutrition and improves overall health. But always seasonal fruits are good to be taken eith in the morning noon or evening preferably. Not post dinner.
