The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed. •Medications for toothache: Advise C. Amox 500mg 1-1-1, thrice, T. Metrogyl 400mg 1-1-1, thrice, T. Imol 1-1-1, thrice (contraindicated in conditions with gastric ulcer, asthma, wheezing, and allergy), and C. Becosules 1-0-0 once, all for 3 days only.

I have a problem of bad breath, but it is not coming from mouth as it's always kept clean. Is this any sign of any digestive tract related problems?

BDS, CDE Endo-Prostho, CDE - Cast Partial & Complete Dentures
Dentist, Pune
Hello, bad breath could be because of digestive problems, it can be because of fasting, not eating for long hours, not drinking enough water, or if you are having acidity problem. It may be because of pungent eatables like garlic. But still get it checked by a dentist for any deposits and get it cleaned.

From last 5 days I have two mouth wound automatically but still now it is not cured? What should I do?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Multivitamin cap, for five days in the morning after meals & antiseptic ointment or gel on the area of ulcer until then. Mouth sores are common and rarely cause complications. Most go away in about a week, but it’s important to monitor any mouth sores you develop. If you are concerned, or if the sore doesn’t seem to be healing, contact your dentist Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Advance procedures can be done with laser.

No braces does not lead to cancer. Brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra soft bristles orthodontic, indicator brush. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may consult me in person too.
