Be a Knight in Smiling Armour With a Pre-Wedding Dental Visit!

Why a dental visit before your wedding day is essential

It's your wedding clothes trial and after multiple designers visits, a blur of fabrics and embroideries, finally you face the mirror looking like a charming prince! you can't get your eyes off yourself the smart, handsome, be jeweled and crowned silhouette you get closer to your reflection and you smile to yourself.

To your utter dismay-staring back at you is a gaping black hole in your yellow looking teeth- a stark contrast against your beautiful pearl white sherwani!

Among things that you don't know or care about in this wedding planning charade, one thing you do know for sure is that while the bride will outshine you, the pictures will last forever, and a yellow smile with a black blemish on a white sherwani is not the kind of shame you're willing to live through!

So if you're a groom-to-be your trial date shouldn't be the day you realize your smile must live up to the bright and momentous occasion that you're preparing for!

While the metrosexual man of today has even his pre-wedding skin treatments lined up, for the more macho or masculine ones at least getting their smile right can make a huge difference!

So here's a quick checklist to know if you qualify for dental treatment and if you should visit before your wedding day

Are you happy with your smile?
Are your teeth crowded?
Are your teeth yellow or dull?
Can you see any brown or black stains on your teeth?

Dental treatment:
A dental visit according to popular misconception is no unpleasant ordeal!

With the latest technology drill free cavities, bladeless surgeries, and painless extractions have become a reality.

So whatever be your woe, a variety of treatment solutions can be planned and customised to transforming your smile if you're well in time.

Having a dental partner through it all works best for most people and who better than your future life partner to get you through an intimate experience like your appointment.

Top 3 reasons for a couple's pre-wedding dental appointment

You want a million dollar smile on your big day
Long pending issues that rather be dealt with while you're working on looking your best -both within and without Avoiding unhappy toothaches during your happiest times be it wedding or honeymoon

Did your dentist tell you stronger teeth make for hotter men!

Stay happy and flash that smile with confidence after your dental appointment.

Do let me know what you think!

Hi lybrate-user. If you are having severe pain even after 3-4 days of tooth extraction, visit your dentist for a check up to rule out a condition called' dry socket' it happens if the blood clot is lost from the extraction socket. The dentist can clinically examine and diagnose the condition and advice appropriate management. Till then you can do warm salt water rinses which will give you relief. Pain killer can be taken in case of severe pain.

Sir I m 18 yr old student and I have a lot of pain in mouth so what should I do?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray) to decide upon treatment. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

If it is possible to save the tooth by root canal treatment, it is always wise to save it. The success of root canal treatment depends on the position of tooth, amount of tooth part broken, amount of infection, mobility and any bone loss associated with infection. Still it is good to save the tooth because none of artificial tooth would serve as good as natural tooth.

hi vikas.. even if u want to straighten one tooth u have to go for entire jaw treatment. Orthodontic treatment is never localized to one tooth. we cannot put braces in one tooth. so let it be one or several teeth.. Treatment and price is same. But price varies in different clinics according to place and area. Average u can consider as 20,000 for orthodontic treatment.

Oil pulling, a popular folk remedy can be useful for whiter teeth and as a flossing agent. Slosh your mouth with coconut, sunflower or sesame oil for 15 minutes and then spit it out. It lubricates the gums and provides that extra shine to your teeth.

If your gums n bone beneath r in his health, braces'll b the most safest way to get your gaps closed given the duration of treatment can stretch to 2 years given your age. If you want quick results, gaps can b closed with cosmetic treatments involving capping of your teeth. However I suggest braces.

Why to Fill Up a Missing Tooth?

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Why to Fill Up a Missing Tooth?

A missing tooth can be responsible for causing different health issues. Along with these, a person loses his ability of chewing with missing teeth, develop problems related to speaking and his overall facial appearance also gets affected.

In case of a missing tooth or several missing teeth, it is best advised to get dentures fitted. Dentures are false teeth, which are fitted in the oral cavity in place of lost natural teeth.

Here are several reasons why it is important to fill up a missing tooth:

  1. Shifting of tooth: When a tooth is lost, the surrounding teeth start drifting or moving in the open gap where the lost tooth used to be. The surrounding teeth are shifted out of the alignment. This affects the appearance of your face, and your teeth seem crooked and misplaced. It is necessary to replace a missing tooth with dentures in order to restrict the shifting before it is too late.
  2. TMJ Syndrome: After a tooth is lost and the surrounding teeth start shifting, the alignment is changed. This gives rise to problems with biting and creates issues with the jaws. The upper jaw and the lower jaw fail to meet correctly, and this causes strain and damage to the jaw joint. This phenomenon is called TMJ syndrome.
  3. Decay of tooth and gum diseases: After the shifting of surrounding teeth when a tooth is lost, the teeth alignment changes. This makes it difficult for a person to reach several areas in the gum with a toothbrush or floss. This makes plaque and bacteria accumulate in that area and they cannot be reached or cleaned. Tooth decay and gum diseases or periodontal diseases that are likely to affect those spots. These diseases and disorders cause further tooth loss.
  4. Alteration in facial appearance: A missing tooth should be replaced properly and a dentist must make sure that the root of the missing tooth is removed. In case the root is not removed totally, bone deterioration is likely to occur. Bone loss occurs in the jaw area, and this may result in a change or alteration in your facial appearance. A timely replacement of a missing tooth will prohibit bone loss from the jaw area, and you will be saved from any kind of alteration in your facial appearance, which might affect your looks and self-esteem greatly.

A missing tooth should never be ignored and in case you lose a tooth, you should see a dentist as soon as possible. By filling up a missing tooth, you will be able to save yourself from several issues related to the mouth and gums.

Wait till all her teeth have erupted. Maximum time it will take is by 3 years of age. Between 2-3 years of age all her milk teeth would have erupted. Then you can teach her to brush teeth.
