everyone doesn't have pearl white teeth. your teeth color matches your skin colour. you can go for scaling and polishing followed by bleaching for more whiter teeth. for back pain, consult a physiotherapist. sit in correct postures. avoid sitting in a single position for a longer time. try out some stretching exercises for back n neck.

Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. You may consult me in person. . DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

During orthodontic treatment, suffering from pain and soreness in the mouth is quite common. To lessen the degree of it, the patient can gargle with  8 ounces of lukewarm water with one teaspoonful of salt dissolved in it. It will surely dull the pain and provide some relief.

I am having mouth ulcers from last 3 days. Not much severe one. But very tiny blisters are present on tongue. N redness is visible inside mouth walls. Even normal food is too spicy for me these days. Suggest some ointment or medicine.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Mouth ulcers are usually due to vitamin deficiency or bad digestion. Other causes are tonsils, trauma from teeth, dry mouth, tonsillitis, stress, change in lifestyle, allergies to certain foods and medication, smoking and tobacco chewing, consumption of spicy n hot foods. Start some vitamin supplements. Apply local anaesthetic ointment like dologel. Eat healthy and balanced diet. Increase your water intake. Avoid oilly n spicy food completely.

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person.

Hello doctor. How to get rid of teeth plaque and tartar? I hv that some on the back side of my teeth.

Dentist, Gurgaon
Hello doctor. How to get rid of teeth plaque and tartar? I hv that some on the back side of my teeth.
Hello lybrate-user, this plaque and tartar is layer of deposited food acted upon by residential bacteria present in the mouth. Our saliva contains minerals that hardens this layer with time. Visit a dentist for professional cleaning of your teeth called scaling. This layer is removed in the procedure and you will be able appreciate the difference. But the treatment only is not sufficient, after the treatment, you need to follow strict oral hygiene habits like brushing twice a day specially at night after dinner, rinsing your mouth after every meal, flossing your teeth for removing deposited food from in between the teeth and also cleaning of tongue. Follow up is equally important to check yourself whether you are doing it right or not so visit a dentist every 6 months for regular dental check up.

Some children develop slower than other children. They may lack in certain nutrition or it can also be heredity. I would suggest you to consult a homeopath for this, as there are proved results for such children in homeopathy. You can also start giving naturamore for kidspowder 1 spoon daily in warm milk in morning and evening for 1 month. This will definitely give you results. As the Powder is just a supplement containing proteins, vitamins, minerals and all which help you to gain weight. You will get result 110%. Just inform me if you are not getting the powder. Take care. :)

Hi, you may be suffering from calculus deposition, which can cause gingivitis and periodontitis. I would advice you to go for full mouth scaling, and for sensitivity you can go for restoration if the gingiva has receded. I could help you more if you can send me a pic of your gingiva.

All About Dental Implants

Dental implants are generally identified as substitutes for tooth roots. Besides, replacing damaged or decayed teeth, implants also provide a strong foundation for both permanent as well as removable replacement teeth.

Advantages
There are loads of advantages of dental implants:

  1. Better overall appearance of teeth, since they are made to fuse with the bone
  2. Unlike removable dentures, implants are much more comforting as well as convenient
  3. Higher self-esteem as you will feel better about yourself
  4. Improved speech quality in the long run
  5. Eating becomes comparatively easier with implants rather than sliding dentures, because they function like your own teeth
  6. Improved oral health
  7. Good durability (can even last a lifetime if taken good care of)

Success rate
Generally, dental implants have a very impressive success rate (up to 98%). This can differ, however, based on the placement of the implants.

Who can go for dental implants?

  1. Patients must have healthy gums
  2. Must have sufficient bone strength to hold the implants in place
  3. Must be dedicated to maintaining good oral hygiene
  4. Must visit dentist regularly

Procedure
There are many steps involved in getting an implant:

  1. An individualized treatment plan, addressing all your specific needs and prepared by a team of professionals, well versed in oral surgery and restorative dentistry
  2. Placement of the tooth root implant into the bone socket of the missing tooth
  3. Attachment of a small connector post known as an abutment, which securely keeps the new tooth intact
  4. Attachment of a crown (the replacement tooth) to the abutment

The operation is normally administered under a local anesthesia. The whole process is not harmful at all, to say the least, and people have reported that a normal tooth extraction cause much more pain than a dental implant operation.

Can't open my mouth completely due to wisdom teeth on uper left side. It's painful.
Advice mouth opening exercises. Need more investigations (Full mouth x-ray) with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Adv. medication, cleaning, root canal treatment or surgical removal procedures for the gum mucosa above the tooth or the tooth itself. Until then apply clove oil. Rinse frequently with mouth wash.

Hello sir, my mouth getting full of bad air my friends telling me how will it treated.
Bad breath can also be made worse by the types of foods you eat and other unhealthy lifestyle habits. Smoking or chewing tobacco-based products also can cause bad breath Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Other dental causes of bad breath include poorly fitting dental appliances, yeast infections of the mouth, and dental caries (cavities). Practice good oral hygiene. Brush twice a day with fluoridetoothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. Brush teeth after you eat (keep a toothbrush at work or school to brush after lunch). Don't forget to brush the tongue, too. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. Use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. Rinse with an antibacterial mouthwash twice a day.
