For cleaning ear wax ,which department should I consult. In a period of how many days ,it's said to clear ear wax.
Hello, It's a very good question. Ear wax is formed in all the people but in few it gets deposited and needs removal. The ear buds and other similar items are useful to mop the ear from discharge but not for wax. The requirement for wax cleaning depends upon patient to patient and it's generally around 6 months. ENT doctors are well trained in this procedure. Wax can be cleaned with a hand held instrument or by syringing in the ear or through vacuum pump. Take care.

WAYS TO SOOTHE SORE THROAT :

1) Gargling several times a day with warm salt water can reduce swelling in the throat and loosen mucus, helping to flush out irritants or bacteria.

2) Sucking on cough drops or lozenges stimulates saliva production, which can help keep your throat moist.

3) Staying hydrated is very important, especially when you're sick and your throat is irritated or inflamed. This keeps your mucous membranes moist and better able to combat bacteria and irritants like allergens, and makes your body better able to fight back against other cold symptoms.

4) A warm cup of herbal tea can offer immediate, soothing relief for a sore throat. For an extra boost, add a teaspoon of honey. It'll help the "medicine" go down, and it has antibacterial properties that may help you heal faster.

5) Always take the full course of medicine, even if you feel better after a few days.

Laryngitis - Top Signs You Must Not Ignore!

Laryngitis is referred to as the inflammation of the vocal cord or the larynx situated in the throat either due to it’s over usage or certain infections. This condition spreads rapidly and does significant damage to the larynx. Laryngitis can be acute or chronic. If not diagnosed timely, laryngitis can cause significant problems in the respiratory system such as experiencing trouble while breathing. Laryngitis can be treated with antibiotics and with other home remedies such as gargling with warm salt water, giving your voice some rest and drinking sufficient water (around 2-2.5 liters) in a day to keep dehydration at bay. Make sure you avoid any caffeinated beverage and alcohol if such a condition develops. In urgent cases of laryngitis, a prescribed dosage of corticosteroids and antibiotics can provide relief.

Causes
The causes of laryngitis depend considerably on the form of laryngitis. If the laryngitis is of acute nature, then it might have been caused due to an infection and it tends to go away after suitable treatment. In the case of chronic laryngitis, the inflammation is caused due to a frequent exposure to irritants. This condition has long sustained effect and tends to be painful. The causes of laryngitis are as follows:

  1. Apart from viral and bacterial infections, an acute form of laryngitis can be caused due to the impairment of the vocal cord as a result of constantly talking or screaming at a high-pitched voice.
  2. Acid reflux (acidity) and frequent instances of sinus infections can cause chronic laryngitis.
  3. Excessive consumption of tobacco and alcohol might cause chronic laryngitis.
  4. Constant exposure to toxic chemicals might cause chronic laryngitis.
  5. In some cases, prolonged huskiness of the throat might be a symptom of a serious underlying medical condition such as cancer or vocal cord paralysis. In such a case, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

The symptoms of laryngitis are as follows:

  1. A constant sensation of dry throat which might lead to permanent impairment of voice
  2. Persistent sensation of titillation in the throat coupled with a persistent dry cough
  3. Significant pain while swallowing food
  4. Feeling of fullness in the throat
  5. Severe pain in the throat

I have sinusitis problem. I suffered with head ache. I need your help to out from my problem. There are any medical tips to eradicate my problems. please response to my request.

Do you have blocking of the nose / cold / fever? deviated nasal septum / enlarged inferior turbinates cause the opening of the sinuses to get blocked & thereby resulting in the sinuses getting involved. Aeration of the sinuses are a must to keep them healthy. A nasal endoscopy is needed in your case to find out what & where exactly is the problem. An ent surgeon will be in a position to help.

Hi, You need to see an ENT consultant to look for any damage to the drum, which is likely as you say that there is some burning in the ear after putting drops. Don't use Ear Drops, you need to take antibiotics orally and some pain killers.

I was clearing my ear with ear bud but by mistake cotton of that bud stuck in my ear. Any suggestion to remove it?
It can be removed by an ENT specialist. As it requires special instrument. And very practiced hand to avoid perforation to ear drum. Don't try it at home.

If you think it is helping you then try it for more time it is always better than surgery you should think of operation only if you are getting very frequent attacks of tonsillitis and its not getting better by any treatment.
