Use a broad spectrum sunscreen both indoors as well as before going out. It shud b both uva and uvb protective.Protect your eyes with a sunshade. Avoid scrubbing your face. Do not steam or sauna. If you swim, use a sunscreen prior to it and after. Avoid face cosmetics for the time being. You can press powder onto your sunscreen if at all you want to use a cosmetic. Drink two litres of water everyday. Pick up carrots, papaya, pumpkin, black grapes to have everyday. These contain important antioxidants and phytonutrients which vil soften your skin. Do not stress over anything. Pray-itll distract you off your stress. You can use this do it yourself mask at home which vil give you an instant glow. Mix 1 tbsp puree each of papaya and carrot with 1 tbsp of curd and 1 tbsp of aloe vera. Apply it across your face or dull body part for ten to fifteen minutes and wash it off without soap. sunlight damages skin, it's color and texture. Uv rays enter even through the window. So make sure to use sunscreen everytime both inside and outside. Avoid cosmetics. Use cold water to wash face with a mild cleanser. Remove soap from your armamentarium. Make sure to have plenty of tomatoes and oranges. Vitamin c supplements vil help you. It's very important to b stress free. Don't use scrubs for your face, it'll grow more dark.

My wife has panic attacks while traveling in vehicles . In trains also she has such attacks but only in general compartments but she is ok in AC coaches. Due to this anxiety of traveling she is distracted from doing her daily chores as a homemaker. Please advice

You need to first get her evaluated by a psychiatrist to find out if its an anxiety disorder. If she is fine in AC coaches it may be anxiety due to specific event or place, like crowded place or for security in general compartments. It can be an insecurity which causes the anxiety like safety issues. That needs to be analyzed. If she is being dysfunctional take her to a psychiatrist for treatment. Simultaneous counseling is needed.

You are experiencing anger-related depression. Very simply put, you have not been expressing anger perhaps for a long time and that has piled up and has turned inwards to deplete your natural energy, leading to the depression. You need to look back and identify where and why it started, and then deal with it appropriately. This is an important exercise that may have to be done several times until the emotion is totally purged off of its energy. Any unprovoked and unexplained emotions always tend to have its roots way back into the past. It is possible that you have been discouraged to express anger in particular and you have learned to suppress it instead. But the system cannot hold unexpressed emotions for too long. In fact it becomes toxic to your system. For anger, vigorous exercise will deplete the energy but you must know the reasons too. Just talking, even writing about it, shouting it out, etc. Will give it catharsis. Everyday anger must also be expressed appropriately and adequately. Talk to a close friend or confidant or counselor, regularly about your feelings and things should shape up alright.

Posture is very imp. So be careful while sitting. Correct posture itself can cure your problems. Then do ex's regularly. Make body fit and healthier. Spinal flexion and extension ex's are necessary. If there is unbearable pain hot pack is good. Ift and us therapy is very effective. If you have bearable pain then go with regular ex's, timely food, fitness ex's. Keep mind stronger and tension free. Tension and stress aggravates your problem.

I am taking amlodipine-10mg for the last 10 years along with atenolol-50mg. Of late I find that there is a sudden swelling of feet and ankles and there is pain on walking. A local doctor suggested that I should stop amlodipine and take olmesartan-40mg. Would this help? kindly advise

Swelling of both feet? does it put on pressure? amlodipine can cause swelling but not painful and unlikely now as u r taking it since a long time. Any complain of breathlessness on doing regular activities than before? show me your ecg & 2d echo.

Hello, wash your hair at alternate day for a month. Apply amla hair oil at night before hair wash. Eat soaked 5 almond and 1 spoon of soaked fenugreek seeds daily in the morning. You can drink coconut water daily for better hair. Eat healthy and keep hygiene of hair. These things will help you to get rid of hair fall as well as dandruff.

See main reason of hair fall & hair damage is due to infection in scalp skin, which easily goes into hairs follicles & causes hair fall, thinning of hairs, for control on hair fall you have to control on dandruff and infection. So if you want cure. Consult privately.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take BioD3 Max 1 tab dailyx10 Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x5days Do back(spine)/shoulder/knee exercises Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take Do not ignore it.It could be beginning of a serious problem.If no relief in 4_5 days,then contact me again.

Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days then please inform me.

It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Hello, first of all you should start taking a healthy and balanced diet. Hair fall is a result of any deficiency of any essential nutrient. Eat colourful fruits and green leafy vegetables. Include more protien rich supplements to your diet. Take phosphorus 200, 5 drops , morning empty stomach, once in week. wiesbaden 200, 5 drops , daily morning empty stomach. Apply Arnica hair growth oil (B &T) on your hair and scalp, thrice in a week. Wash hair with Arnica montana herbal shampoo (SBL) Drink minimum 10 glasses of water per day. Take 10 ml amla juice mixed with half cup of water, at daily night.

High protein and low carbohydrate diet will be useful. Take 6-7 small meals rather than 3 big meals. Avoid sweets, fried foods, fast foods like pizzas, burgers, fried mixtures, cookies, maida biscuits etc. Have a high fibre diet like whole grain/multigrain chapatis/brown/multigrain bread, green leafy vegetables, whole pulses, full fruits (instead of fruit juices. In vegetables avoid potato, yam, colocassia, in fruits avoid mango, banana, cheeku, avocado (butter fruit)

I feel sleepy every time even though I have slept at night. I feel like drunk and immediately sleep.
Follow these simple steps to ensure a good sleep every night and stay away from sleep disorders and other health problems associated with unhealthy sleep habits: 1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer. If you have tried all these and still have problems, please consult me for prescription medication.
