Swollen foot is a abnormal finding, kindly furnish following to guide you well. 1- whether swelling is bilateral (both legs and elsewhere) 2-does it pit or leave impressions of a thumb, you may do small push with your right thumb against hard bones, probably shin bones. 3-does she has any lung /heart / kidney/liver related issue 4- what medication she is taking. 5-sometimes pain in joints or arthritis also produces pain with edema (swelling) osteopororsis in old age a regular feature ,on rare occasions extreme fragility and bedridden patient suddenly undergo spontaneous/stress fracture which may be evident to visiting doctor.
